This half day half boarding school has a very dedicated staff. The campus is beautiful and the academics are first rate. The sports programs are wide and they offer many options for girls, including riding.

Madeira is an all-girls, largely boarding, school. The academics here are very good, and provide the ladies the ability to learn a variety of skills and knowledge. The staff here are great! As a boarding school, they ensure that the students are accounted for, but also that they are able to experience many things.

Good but pricey

Madeira is an upscale all girl's boarding school. The headmistress is a no nonsense type person, which is good for girls of that age. The teachers are very nice and personable, but tough when they need to be. The curriculum is decent, but not as good as I've seen in the other boarding schools in the area. The price is through the roof though, and thus I did not send my kids here. There are better schools, for less.

This school is respectable and filled with tradition. With the one exception many years ago when the head mistress shot the author of the "Scarsdale Diet" to death for having an affair with a younger woman, there has never been a scandal here. Nobody's perfect. Good faculty, and good learning facilities. You can learn a lot from your fellow students. They all come from good backgrounds.
PROS: Good student population
CONS: Very Expensive

An all-girls boarding school located in the Virginia countryside, its pretty campus is about the only thing to its credit. With mediocre academics, arts, and athletics, Madeira doesnt compete with its rival schools, like Holton or NCS.
