A Quiet Oasis Away From the City  5 Star Rating - World class

If you need to get away and enjoy nature-this is the place to come. I volunteered here several years ago and know first hand how dedicated and informed the park official are here. There are the alligators all here about and come to see, but there are also many interesting bird species(-bird watchers love the place), reptiles, amphibians-its all here. Great camping facilities and bike paths. My family came from Dallas for a birthday celebration and we had it in this park-picnic, games-it was great!!

Check out the Observatory at Night!!  5 Star Rating - World class

I love this park! There is an abundance of wildlife - armadillos, snakes, birds, and of course, alligators. But my favorite part is the observatory. On a clear night, the view from the largest telescope is awesome. My son fell in love with the stars and planets and has remained fascinated, thanks to visits there. It is a must-see if you go camping here on the weekends!

See Ya Later, Alligator  4 Star Rating - Very good

Wow! As you enter this State Park, you are warned to watch your step and beware of the alligators. It is quite the experience to walk the paths of this park and see them everywhere. Is a good place to visit in the cooler months, if there is such a thing in Southeast Texas.

Unique park  5 Star Rating - World class

This park is one of the most interesting I have been to if you like wildlife. Large Alligators are in abundance. It is also a wonderful place for birding in the winter months. Long walks on the levees and the old beautiful live oaks will make it a memorable visit. Campgrounds are beautifully kept and shaded. Recommend going in winter months though.
