I check my credit report last winter and saw a collections bill for $83. I called armada to get more information, and never got a call back. I disputed it to the credit reporting agencies, and it was removed from my credit report. I assumed it was a bogus bill. More than 6 months later, I finally get the first bill in the mail and once again call to get more info. I was told that they had no record of me ever calling them, yet a few minute later the rep said "well I do see that we tried to call you on May 30th". Not only had he just changed his story, but that was still 6 months after I had called them, meanwhile they were collecting more interest. I asked why this was the first bill I ever got, and was told that they had sent one to a very old address, and that they had tried calling me but their policy is not to leave a message. Since the call I have been trying to reach the original debtor to verify the bill as I have never got confirmation on what it is for....and today I was served with a lawsuit!!! A lawsuit over $83, only 4 weeks after I received the first bill. (and if they found my address now, why couldnt they have found it over the last two years!!) It now says I have to pay their attorney fee's too!! Armada is a sneaky, piss poor excuse for a company. They do NOT do their due diligence to inform people of a bill, so that they can collect more in interest, and then sue within weeks of finally sending a bill and speaking with the person! SCUM!

armada was the nicest collection agency i have ever dealt with. i called within 1 week of getting my first notice from them and set up a payment plan. i explained my husband had recently been laid off but i wanted to take care of the bill. the lady was so nice compaired to the jerks at other ones. i ended up paying my bill off before it even went on my credit which i was very happy about. if everything could go to armada instead of other collections agencies it would be great. THANKS ARMADA FOR BEING SO NICE AND UNDERSTANDING

you morons wouldnt have problems with collections agencies if you paid your bills before they went their. As for you who says you've been paying for a year and have a big whole. you must have a lot of things in collections so you abviously arent good at paying your bills so instead of harping on people who go to work everyday and probably pay their bills you should shut up and realize you put yourself in that posistion, and you idiot who says you got garnished for a check that was stolen. you cant be garnished without a judge approving it so you obviously didnt have proof that the checks were stolen. you probably are jsut lieing cause you didnt want to pay for a bounced check. once again that too is your own fault, why dont you people realize everything you are complaining about is your fault and you're to blame

My checkbook was stolen 11 years ago. the account was already closed before it was stolen. someone wrote checks on the account and i had to go to the bank and fill out affadavits for all the forged checks. Armada corp just garnished my wages after 10 years. they said they sent 38 letter to me. I had move quite a few years back and did not get any notices. Now I have to get an attorney to get my wages back. they are a horrible company. eveyone needs to file a complaint with the federal trade commission and they will close that business down!!

I was sent to collection for a medical bill - it was warranted. I called the original provider to try to pay the balance who informed me they sent it to Armada 9 months ago! I called Armada who said they had sent me notification every month since they got it from the provider, "The computer sends out the notices automatically!" I was told.... right! 9 months and I never saw a notice from them? So I tell the rep I want to pay half now and half on the next pay day. She says that is fine but also tells me that with the DAILY INTEREST accrued, I will have $xx dollars additionally owed! So all of a sudden a light goes off in my head.... If they don't notify you properly, they gain additional interest! This unfortunately has happened again; partly because I let another medical bill go to Armada, but also because THEY never notified me until I called in again. No notification = more interest!

My husband has recently paid all of his debt with Armada and then found out that some of the debt on his account there actually belonged to a close family member. When he confronted Armada about the mix up they said that the debt still existed and there was no record of payment made to that account (the one that belonged to his family member). Also, shortly after this discovery Armada sued my husbands family member for the debt that my husband a had paid by mistake. They collected money from my husband for a debt that was not his and then when they found out about the mistake they did not credit my husband back that money and they still sued his family member. So Here is some advice always save any and all documentation you are given after you make a payment. Use check or carbon copy money orders. It is best to always use your full name including prefix when you are applying for any account for credit, so if you have a name that is commonly used in your family (like my husbands name) if you ever get sent to collections you will only be responsible for your own debt. They will not help you sort it out. You must identify credit mistakes yourself and pursue the correction.
