This place has no pretensions whatsoever. I love everything here especially the salad and the bread pudding. You can't go wrong with Sonoma Chicken Coop.

If you are on a hurry or just get that urge to eat a whole meal at a decent price, then here is the place to go...people are nice, and you can ask for more of their seasoned foccacia bread as you would like...highly reccoment it

We are not fans of Sonoma Chicken Coop. The chicken was dry and the service was rude. The place was pretty busy, but not that busy that they couldnt do it right. We wont go back.

have eaten there several times on my way to a game or other events at the arena. Service is quick, food is great and if you are a chocoholic then the hockey puck dessert is the best. A good deal pricewise, plenty of food and it is always busy. Go try it out.

My family and I enjoyed eating at Sonoma Chicken Coop. Nice good health portions that can be shared with someone else. Instead of bread they add a different touch by offering you pizza slices. The cost is reasonable.

Sonoma Chicken Coop is without a doubt, THE WORST restaurant in San Jose. I have ordered about 8 different items from there menu total now, including their 'famous chicken' and let me tell you...every single item i have ordered has been either one or all of the following:1: Completely tasteless, (all of their food APPEARS to be seasoned, however anyone with tastebuds will easily see through that sham after the first bite)2: Undercooked (I have had pizza with uncooked dough, and pasta that still had hard and dry pieces)3: Cold! (three of the times I have gone their i have received COLD food!)4: Dry! (With no exxaggeration everything I have ordered seems to come straight from the microwave)Their famous chicken is...decent (I would not go so far as to call it good). The only thing to like about the place is their decor/atmosphere, which is done in an elegant rural/italian style with low cafe style tables and big color prints of vinyards and farms on the walls.

Whenever I'm in the area I usually go to this spot. I've been there around five times, have ordered something different each time and have never really been disappointed. The portions are satisfying, the presentation is astounding considering the price, there's indoor/outdoor seating, and their desserts are fantastic! What keeps it from a 5 star rating is that sometimes the entrees don't come out as warm as I'd like them to be. Other than that, everything else is wonderful.

On cold nights it's drafty outside, reminds me of a restaurant always under construction.......my daughter and my 2 little granddaughters and I have eaten there twice and I've eaten at the one in Campbell. Food's the same, order in line, pickup. Quantities are very plentiful, and borders on gourmet, especially the chicken dish with asparagus. We got my granddaughter a shredded bbq chicken sandwich and we each took bites and ended up almost eating all of her sandwich, lol. The chocolate fondue is screamin'. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Good food at at good price. For this particular location, I like the (very) large patio they have and its setting. It's nice for when the weather's good, and I enjoy an outdoor setting. Plus, the ambience is vibrant depending on the day you go.

did you know they give free pizza bread as you are waiting?? this is basically the epitome of casual gourmet. the food is of great quality but prices are reasonable. no waiters, just stand in line, get some food and leave.

Sonoma Chicken Coop is a really good value for the price. The food is pretty good quality and some items on the menu are on the verge of being "gourmet." There isn't really table service -- you stand in line and order and then bring your food back to your table. Last time I was there my food wasn't very hot, but it wasn't a deal-breaker. I'd go back again.

PROS: great menu, pretty good quality food
CONS: lacks ambiance

This is our family's favorite restaurant! The ambience is fun, the lines are often long but very fast, and the dessert fondue's are the biggest draw! The entrees are original and very good. Salads, chicken, pizza, and fish are fresh, but served very quickly. The owner does the friendly rounds with customers on almost every visit!

My wife and I recently had dinner at the Chicken Coop. We've heard some good things about the restaurant-great prices, good food, decent atmosphere and there always seemed to be lots of people inside.

What we did find was-the atmosphere was great! I loved the outdoor patio were my wife and I had our dinner and the prices were lower than expected.

But the food was just decent and because of this the Chicken Coop would probably be my second or third choice in choosing a restaurant.

PROS: Great eating atmosphere
CONS: Food just decent

Good food, decent prices. I woudln't say the prices are extraordinary like they claim to be. There are some very tasty dishes, especially this special, guacamole lightly fried chicken with beans and tortilla, but that doesn't come up often. The normal chicken dish is acutally not that great, considering it tastes exactly liek Costco Chicken. Otherwise it's pretty good. Go for the non-original chicken stuff.

PROS: Good speciala
CONS: Their normal chicken is costco chicken, greasy and not very tasty
