Ratings_icons Wonderful Doctor!

Nicole B.

Dr Thomas E Judd, and Aspen Women's Ctr, have provided me with excellent care for more than 15 years. Dr Judd, has helped my husband and I bring our 2 precious boys into the world, and has also supported us when we lost one pregnancy. The level of care, and expertise, in my opinion, are unmatched in the Valley, or possibly the State. Dr Judd, and his staff are wonderful people that make all the difference when it comes to Women's Health, and Preganancy Care. I have and will continue to refer family and friends to this great Doctor, and never worry that they will recieve any thing less than superior care.

I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Judd and Aspen Women's Center. I have been a patient there and have referred my friends and family to him. He just delivered my sisters baby and did an amazing job. She had a great experience and is so excited that she has such a great doctor. He is a very smart doctor and he knows what he is doing. I would trust my life with him and would recommend him to anyone that is looking for a great doctor who is very personable and makes you feel very comfortable.

Ratings_icons Fabulous Doctor!

Amanda N.

Dr. Judd is a fabulous doctor who loves what he does and is always looking out for the good of his patients and their babies. I have three children: with my first, my doctor (not Dr. Judd) did not recognize that my baby was breech (hmm??), so I had to have an emergency C-section. Obviously, didn't go back to that doctor and found Dr. Judd. He is an expert!! He is so incredibly knowledgable and I trust him completely! My other two children had to be C-section and he did a wonderful job. He always took a lot of time during visits to make sure any of my questions or concerns were taken care of. And he never failed to make me smile or laugh with a silly joke! I have nothing but respect and admiration for a fabulous man who has changed people's lives and made the world a better place.

I have nothing but the highest regards for Dr Judd and his staff - I have delivered all 4 of my kids including twins born 6weeks early with Aspen Womens Ctr and would recommend them to all of my friends and family. Dr Judd was there to listen to all of my concerns and when things got scary, I could not have asked for a better and more caring Dr. to take care of myself and my unborn children. I highly recommend Dr Judd to everyone.

Ratings_icons Dr Judd Is Amazing

After losing a baby at delivery due to shoulder dystocia, because I chose to go to a Dr less qualified, I feel so blessed to have found a Dr that listened to my concerns and had the skills to know how to deal with my future pregnancies. Dr Judd was the answer to my prayers. We should all be so lucky to have a Dr like him. My next 2 children were delivered by C-section and I know I couldn't have been in better hands. In my opinion he should be able to run his practice however he feels is in the best interest of his patients. His patients are his number one interest.

I have delivered both of my babies with Dr Judd and it has been an amazing experience both times! My second baby was almost 10 lbs, No episiotomy, need I say more???!!!???
I felt like I was #1 priority every time I went in for a check, and also in the delivery room!
I have refered every friend I have to this Dr and I will continue to do so knowing that they are in the best of care.

I just delivered my fifth baby with Dr Judd three weeks ago. I drive 70 miles and have loved every delivery. I wanted a Dr who would safely deliver my babies, and he went above and beyond the call of a "Dr". We all have options. If you don't like his practices go somewhere else! There are plenty of people who value his opinion (check out his waiting room).

Ratings_icons THE BEST OFFICE EVER!!!!

I am going on baby number 5 and am going to Judd for the my care again. My first pregnancy was twins and boy was I scared. I was young and told by another doctor that I would most likely have a c-section. He said it wasn't uncommon even for women to deliver both ways when having twins!! (this supposedly due to how the babies are positioned when about to deliver. If the first baby is head down and delivered and the second doesn't stay or become head down then I would have a c-section!! Recovering from both? I was just planning on having to recover from a c-section until someone mentioned Dr. Judd to my mother after she told them about this and how worried I was about the whole thing.
Going to Dr. Judd was the most wonderful thing!! His sense of humor and how knowledgeable he was about the whole thing put me at ease the first time I saw him. He answered all my questions! He wasnt rushed and made me feel comfortable every time I was in there. In the end my second little guy was in fact breech and was delivered and both were healthy and fine just under 5 lbs!! (not bad for twins and I was term which was great!) I was able to have them in Orem Community and they were able to come home with me two days later and everything as well!
With the other two I have had thus far he has been just as wonderful. I havent had much experience with the other doctors in his clinic as I only saw Judd with the exception of one time in which I saw Gordon and loved him as well!
Judd has delivered all four of my babies thus far and has been the most wonderful doctor. My sister lived out of state with her first child and had a horrible experience with the doctor, the hospital, the works. So with her second child she had moved back and went to Judd and has also loved him!! I dont know why people think his C-section rate is so high compared to other places because it really isnt. A lot of women actually ask for that nowadays instead of going through labor and all of that. I have people in my own family that do that but I am not that way.
I love that he knows how to deliver breech (as midwives and many doctors dont these days) and I love his rest and descend that he does as well. Makes the pushing process a lot nicer (if you have any at all!!) All in all GREAT office and I recommend them to everyone I know!!!

I have been seeing Heather Johnson at this clinic and she is amazing. She knows what she is doing and has a lot of experience. She is very down to earth and so sweet and personal! Every time she comes into the exam room she gives me a hug. I absolutely love her. She is a midwife (Utah County doesn't have any female obgyn's) which basically means she can do everything a Dr can do except a c-section. If she feels like the pregnancy might call for a c-section she usually has Dr. Judd on call and very close to the hospital. I highly recommend her... The center is busy and like ANY other Dr. office, things can get backed up. What do you expect in Provo? EVERYONE is pregnant! It really isn't that bad.

Dr. Gordon delivered my son and it was great experience. I had some complications with the birth so I was glad I went to a Dr. who knew what he was doing. Don't go to them if you're looking for a natural birth experience. They are really into modern medicine. If you know you'll need a c-section they are the way to go. I've had a couple miscarriages in the last few months and they have been REALLY good about working with me on them. The first miscarriage was unexpected so there was nothing they could do. But when I got pregnant the second time they started doing testing immediately to see if there was anything they could do to prevent the miscarriage. I had another one completely out of their power to prevent but they did blood work and ultra sounds for me (even when it wasn't necessary but I asked for it just to get more information about what was happening). The nurses are awesome to talk to and are very understanding people. I haven't worked with Dr. Judd a lot but I love the team they have and I love that they worked with me so well to get as much information as we could about the miscarriages.

I visited all three doctors at this clinic. Dr. Judd was my doctor, but Dr. Gordon was on-call when the baby came. I went to Judd because people had told me he's so good. And he is; all the doctors here are. After my baby was born I practically lived at the hospital for 2 weeks while my baby was in the NICU and I saw Dr. Judd and Gordon there a lot. One night I was walking down the hall to the nursery and saw both Dr. Judd and Gordon and a bunch of nurses surrounding a baby. It was deathly silent. Then, all of a sudden, I heard the baby cry and everyone started to cheer. The nurses in the nursery told me that the baby had been born breech vaginally and wasn't doing well, but they were able to resuscitate them. I think the doctors really are good at what they do. With that said, I'm looking for a different doctor this time around. As good as they are, with my particular experience my baby came early and was smaller than he should have been and I always wondered how the doctors could have missed how poorly the baby was doing. Doctors are human, and I recognize that. But I still think I'll look elsewhere for the next baby.

Dr Gordon has delivered my two babies and I only have good things to say about him. He's always listened to my concerns and has never treated them lightly. Whenever I felt something wasn't right he made sure to check everything was ok. With my second baby he sent me to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center for a stress test after I told him I hadn't felt the baby move for a short while.
I have very short labors and deliveries and for my last delivery I got to the hospital only 10 min before the baby was born. Dr. Gordon got to the hospital very quickly and was very professional. The most important for me is that he is very experienced and knows how to handle difficult situations.
He is very amiable, but I would not expect him to recognize me if he saw me on the street, which is ok for me. With all the people he has seen on his practice, I would be surprised if he did.
He always encouraged me to bring my little girl for my office visits, which was nice since I didn't need to find a sitter.
Dr. Wiley was helpful and nice when I called her in the middle of the night due to some bleeding. I have to say, though, that Dr. Judd was less than thrilled when I called him in another ocassion with an urgent concern and ended the conversation quickly.
I also have to say I only had to wait for a long period once. and when I was late (like very late) he would still see me. My trick was to schedule my appointments late in the morning when they were about to go to lunch, the place was pretty empty.

Ratings_icons Such a pro and a blessing!! He saved me from having a C-Section.

Martha J.

I went through the midwives in Orem and had a good experience with them, but they don't do complicated deliveries. When I found out just past transition that the baby was face up, the midwives told me with concern that they thought i'd have to be delivered by c-section. My family has a very bad reaction to surgery and scar tissue so I was terrified!! They had Dr. Judd come to see if he could help without a C-section. Within 5 to 10 minutes of his arrival I had my new baby boy. He managed the forceps with such ease. The delivery was quick and easy with his help which couldn't have been otherwise by any other means. He stitched me up quickly, what small amount was needed. He was wonderful. My sisters and I are planning to go through him now instead of the Midwives from now on. Highly recommend him!

Ratings_icons Don't do it.

Courtney G.

I had a very up and down experience with Dr. Judd and the Aspen Women's Clinic. It started out pretty good. I had switched to this clinic based on a recommendation from a friend from a clinic that left me in tears after my visits. My first visit was great, as Dr. Judd was much more friendly than the last doctor I had. But quickly, I began to feel like it was an act. He would never recognize me outside of the clinic. It wasn't long before I started to dread going to my visits. I never got in to the doctor in less than an hour for a 5 minute visit, which was frustrating since I was working and went to my appointments on my lunch break. Once, they couldn't fit me in on my lunch break, so I made an appointment for 3:30 pm. However, I was slammed at work, so I called to see if they were running late at all, so that I could minimize my waiting time and finish what I was doing at work. They told me they were right on schedule and that I should come right at 3:30. So, I left work and then proceeded to wait until 5 pm to see Dr. Judd. He met with me for 5 minutes and then sent me home.

Another issue with this office, which I saw was mentioned by others who had left a review: every concern that I had was met with a "oh, that's normal." This was my first pregnancy and I had no idea what to expect. I had passed out 3 times, saw stars every day of the pregnancy, had an extremely low blood pressure, and my heart would race to over 130 bpm frequently. However, he dismissed everything as normal. After the first time I passed out, I called the office for advice. A nurse called me back 5 hours later---glad there wasn't an emergency! Even though I know he has cared for literally thousands of pregnancy women, we are paying him hundreds of dollars to see us, and I expect the highest care. He seemed bored to death with his job.

I ended up having an unplanned C-section. While he had absolutely no bedside manners, I will say that he did a great job on the section. However, it was a little disheartening to hear him say "if I were fishing, I would throw him back" about my son right after he was born because he was so small (4 lbs 9 oz).

That was my last experience with Dr. Judd because he wouldn't even see me at my post-partum visit- he sent his nurse in to talk with me. The one plus of this clinic---The nurses are excellent. However, I can't say the same thing about the receptionists. I wonder if some of them graduated high school. I've never seen such an unprofessionally run office. I can't tell you how many conversations I heard about "my boyfriend this or my weekend that" from the receptionists. And I had plenty of time to listen as I was staring at the wall for an hour waiting for my appointment.

My advice is: find another clinic. I'm not sure where to recommend because I have had two bad experiences in Utah Valley. Good Luck!

I absolutely love this clinic and hope to have all my babies delivered by Judd & Gordon. I love everything about it, and to me the wait is absolutely worth it! I know the doctor's are giving as much care to all their patients, so I don't mind the wait. Dr Wiley is by far my last resort though. They suggested I try Orem Community Hospital and I swear to you if I ever move away I will come back to this clinic, deliver in that hospital with those doctors. I ended up needing an emergency C-section, and they really put me at ease and I was totally comfortable with those doctors performing what can be something so scary. Thank you Aspen Women's Center, I look forward to seeing you soon for my second pregnancy.

Ratings_icons Excellent Dr's, extremely busy clinic

Anonymous

I am currently going to Aspen Women's Center to have my second baby. I also went to the clinic for my first child. While I do not like waiting for what seems like an eternity in an extremely busy clinic, my primary care physician, Dr. Judd, has also answered my questions and has never been "rushed" when it was my turn to see him. For example, I went to the clinic yesterday and there were 30+ other women waiting to see the different doctors. I admit I didn't get to see Dr. Judd untl 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment. However, my husband and I both had concerns about the growth of our baby (he is expected to be quite large and I will likely need a repeat c-section) and also with the forms of birth control best for our situation. Dr. Judd took the time necessary to make us feel at ease with our situation and to answer our questions from both a medical and personal standpoint. He spent nearly 25 minutes answering our questions. One fact is clear here in Utah Valley, there are a limited number of OBGYN's that work independently due to insurance costs and also personal time needed for the physician. While I have only seen Dr. Gordan and Dr. Wylie a few times, I have also liked them as well. Aspen Women's Center may seem like a baby factory, however, the doctors care about each patient and their well being. I feel like I have gotten the personal attention I needed to have a healthy pregnancy.

I have had 5 pregnancies and 4 babies with Aspen Women's Center I moved 1/2 an hour away after my first child was born and I still drive the distance because I love the Drs. It is true they are very busy, but that should tell you something too, Dr. Gordon is my Primary Care OB, and he delivered 2 of my babies, Dr. Judd delivered 2 and was present with Dr. Gordon for my 2nd delivery. Dr. Judd also had to use forceps on my first baby, and he was incredibly gentle- I had pushed for 4 hours and my options were to try forceps or a C Section, my baby had no bruising whatsoever and the nurses said Dr. Judd was the best in the Valley when forceps are required and they would use him themselves if they ever needed forceps. Dr. Gordon saved my 2nd child by realizing that my amniotic fluid was too low he sent for a test and I had to be induced immediately, my baby was a healthy 8 lbs and 2 weeks early. I have seen all of the Drs. there and I have never had a bad experience, I know 3 women personally who live in my neighborhood who drive all the way to Provo just to see them. They are great- a lot of experience and very personable!!

Ratings_icons just an office and nothing special

I wanted a female OB and went with Dr. Wiley. She was Ok. I would say friendly, but I did not get to know her very well. I don't believe he ever learned my name, but that's understandable as there are so many patience. The office is overcrowded, two patients are assigned the same time. In all of my visits I got in on time once or twice. Had to wait for over an hour 2-3 times and about an extra half our or 40 minutes the rest of my visits. Assembly line description of this office is very accurate.
Have had problems when it came dealing with the money. Have been trying to get a refund of about 1500 for last 6 months. If you have a complicated health insurance situation beware (we had Medicaid and another). Paperwork has not been filed properly and they are very slow to fix it.
Other than that it was Ok, though with our next I will go with a smaller practice.

Ratings_icons Would definitely go back!

I usually don't write reviews (just read them), but after reading the many negative reviews about this office and Dr. Judd I thought I would share my experience. This was my first pregnancy and I loved Dr. Judd! I know what you're thinking ... she just doesn't know any better, but I always felt like he listened to my concerns and addressed them in a way that I would not only understand but remember. For example, towards the end of my pregnancy he told me that my internal exams were not an exact science, but were more like a weather forecast ... and the forecast would probably be pregnant, pregnant, pregnant for the first couple of times and then would probably change to a chance of baby after that. It was a great way for me to remember what was going to happen and to put me at ease. The nurses were always helpful and I never had an appointment that went longer than an hour total. I loved that they pretty much do everything in house (blood work, ultrasound, etc.) and I only had to see a doctor other than Dr. Judd twice throughout my whole pregnancy (even though It was the middle of summer for most of my pregnancy). When I finally delivered my baby, Dr. Judd came to deliver me even though Dr. Wylie was the doctor on call. She was posterior and wouldn't flip over, so Dr. Judd did an episiotomy (which healed really quickly with no further discomfort) and used the forceps on her. He was extremely gentle with the forceps ... I didn't tear at all and my baby had no marks or bruising from the forceps! All in all I was extremely pleased with the office and with Dr. Judd and will definitely return to them for my next child!

I saw Dr. Judd while pregnant with my first (2005-2006). He did take time to respond to my concerns, but his explanations were drawn out and bordered sarcastic. This actually helped calm my nerves about things like epidurals, but maybe that is just me!
Dr. Wylie delivered and I actually had to start pushing before ever seeing her. Is that normal? Needless to say, she wasn't around for more than 30 minutes, but everything turned out perfectly. I will say that nurses at Utah Valley adore Dr. Wylie and say that Dr. Judd is famous for his skillful use of forceps!
This office is extremely busy, waits tend to be long and I had to remind them I was there once or twice!

Ratings_icons too busy for GYN

Drs Gordon and Wylie are friendly, but busy. Gordon sometimes is too busy to listen well, and I don't believe he likes being the on-call doctor because he always tries to end the call too quickly and without advice. But I think they did well when it came to the labor and c-section. I love Wylie's nurse. She's very nice and thorough, listens well. Don't stay with the center for GYN problems after having your baby because they just don't have time for it and you won't get an appointment right away with the doctor.

Aspen Womens Center just relocated to University Ave. The new building is in a convienient location with plenty of parking. The nurses and staff are very friendly and willing to work with you. If you ever have a question they will most likely call you back the very same day. There are a few high qualified doctors working there, so if your ob-gyn isn't in, you can ask for another and been seen on the same day. Dr. Donna Wylie is a family practice doctor, but just began specializing in obstetrics and is only taking on new obstetrics patients.

I went to the Aspen Women's Center based on a recommendation from a family member. While I didn't have any real problems with the clinic and staff, you do feel like a number. They are always busy, often run late and sometimes you wait a while. The staff and nurses were friendly, especially the ultrasound technician, she was great. The doctors however were not in my opinion the best. I won't comment on Dr. Gordon, I have heard he is the best though. The female doctor, whose name slips my mind, I only had two personal experiences with and she is not very friendly. Very clinical. I prefer warm-n-fuzzy. Dr. Judd who was my primary doctor, I did not care for. He never listened to my concerns and just dismissed them as just "normal pregnacy" problems. He also was rude at times and offensive. He always had a sarcastic or negative comment. I have heard this from others as well. He needs to think a bit more before speaking. He might be great for the first-time mom who doesn't know any better but for someone who has had two prior births with an amazing, compassionate, caring doctor, Dr. Judd was a big let-down. I also question his medical treatment for my care. I am expecting again and needless to say have switched doctors.

But....so many patients, so little time! The doctors have so many patients, that they are constantly packed and you feel sort of like you're in a OB assembly line!
on the other hand, because this office mainly deals with pregnancy and post-natal issues, you are in very competent hands.
They also have a big screen T.V. ultrasound, and if you are wanting it, a 3D ultrasound for a less expensive price than Fetal Photos!
Definitely knowledgeable competent seasoned Doctors!
