I agree that it is great to be able to have a party there but the customer service is awful and it is almost impossible to get someone to talk with you in person to set up a party. The web info is not comprehensive yet they won't talk to

I came here the day before my wedding last summer with my bridesmaids because it looked fun. They have a very strange party policy where every girl has to get the same service, pay on ONE credit card and they add an 18% gratuity fee. Oh and you have to confrim 48 hrs in advance and charge your credit card. This was super stressful for my party and my mom ended up just paying for everyone because it was too difficult. I would have not returned here, except I am a bridesmaid for my friend who wanted us to go here this morning.

Organizing it this time around, I made sure that the entire party made their own reservations at the same time, so we could get our own services and pay separate, and avoid the 18% gratuity fee. The bride arrived 10 minutes late with two other bridesmaids (because they circled the block multiple times looking for parking) and were immediately greeted with rudeness "You're services will be cut short because you are late!" Awesome way to start off the day before your wedding. One of the bridesmaids got a 10 minute french manicure (without any foot soak) and paid over $40. They were rude to the rest of us in other ways as well.

I know that this place is one-of-a-kind and the perfect atmosphere for a party. Its too bad their customer service is seriously lacking and ruins what-would-be great experiences.

Pros: Great atmosphere, everything you would want for a party

Cons: Difficult Policies and Rude Customer Service

I went to Ten 20 for the second time recently. It's geared towards younger women, but it was fun and reasonably priced. It wasn't the least bit "uppity" which I liked. The first experience (manicure and pedicure) was great. The second one was going well until I noticed the nail technician had DIRTY nails. I would think any reputable nail salon would insist that staff have clean, well-kept nails before they work on someon else's. They hygiene aspect bothered me the more I thought about it, and it was pretty disappointing. I'm not sure I'll go back.

I loved my Tattered Tootsie service. I scheduled for the Monday after hiking on Long's Peak with a friend and we had a great time. My polish has lasted for a week with no chipping, which is different than some other reviewers. The couch chairs were really comfy but I was a little short for them and next time I will ask for a pillow. Their shop has cool items in it too. Can't wait for next time!!!

I went here for a pre-wedding manicure with all of my out-of-town female guests. First of all, the prices are WAY over-priced considering all you're getting is a basic spa manicure. Like most nail salons, the manicurists are asian who make no qualms about speaking in a foreign language to each other while giving you a manicure. Both my sister-in-law and I had to point out imperfections in the french manicures we received to have corrected. For $40 I would expect perfection, but my manicure lasted a whopping 2 days. Save your money and go to a regular nail salon and bring a diet coke and a bag of M&M's with you. Also, don't expect anything other than a manicure/pedicure as they don't offer any acrylic/silk/wrap services.

My husband purchased three gift certificates from ten20 for Christmas for our daughters and me. I decided to use mine and treat my husband to a manicure at the same time. To say the manicures were "basic" is an overstatement - neither of us had our already-short nails cut or polished - only shaped, cuticles clipped, and nails buffed. In fact, the limited services resulted in less than the expected 45-minutes ?? and the girl was in such a hurry she never even lotioned or massaged my husband's hands. At the counter we learned, to our dismay, that the cost of the quickie, short-nail manicures was the same as for a full manicure - a total of $60. We sent an e-mail to the salon manager regarding our experience and she/he never even had the courtesy to respond. Oh, and did I mentioned the upright metal chairs (no cushions) with spot lights/heat lamps above your head - ? Avoid the disappointment and spend your money at any of the other salons in Boulder.

This place is more about the atmosphere than the services. But it is a great place for girls nights, or pre wedding services, etc. They have free M&Ms and Soda. They will let you bring your own bottle of wine (what a selling point!), and encourage gossip and indulging in bad TV. As for the mani/pedis. Eh. The place is VERY clean so that is a plus, but my polish always chips in a few days. The massage etc. is good, but you can get better somewhere else if thats what you are looking for.
Just don't expect the best pedicure ever and you will be satisfied. I know the m&m's can always make up for it.

I love the idea of Ten 20, a place just for manicures, pedicures, and waxing. Big screen tv, free m&ms and coke, popcorn and bottled water. The staff is young and really friendly and they have fun, interesting products and lounge wear for sale. The problem is that the services just don't deliver. I have had five bikini waxes there and I always walk out with wax still on my skin (which then ends up on my clothing). I don't know why, but I always end up with the the worst post-wax disastrous skin, even when I take very good care of the area for days afterwards. It could be I am just sensitive to the wax they use, but I have never had so much trouble with my skin after getting waxed anywhere else.
The pedicure was given by a really nice woman, but I my feet felt soapy afterwards and the chair wasn't particularly comfortable.
The manicure (I have had two) was just plain messy. I do go in for a color change every once in a while and I think that is a great deal for ten bucks and highly recommend it.
All in all, I think the place is fun and cute but some of the details need some attention.

I've had many waxes, good and bad but Ten20 was the best wax I've ever had. The waxer made me feel comfortable and it was relatively painless for ripping hair out. They have tv's in their wax rooms which was great for taking my mind off of the pain. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great wax.

I get my eyebrows waxed every month since forever. I know what I like and make sure the person who is doing the waxing does too. I had a meeting one afternoon and decided I wanted to sneak in to get my eyebrows waxed before I has to see a client. Coming in to Ten20 was terrible. It's a cute place and all but when I got up to look at my eyebrows after the waxing, I started crying. My full, more natural-like eyebrows were extremely thin and looked like they needed to be penciled in. I don't want anyone else to have this type of experience. I know it will grow back but I work in sales and the way I look is very important to me. I will never, ever come back.

Fun place for yourself or for friends. Ten 20 offers Nail and waxing services. Friendly and talented staff. Bowls of M&M's and a cold Diet Coke await you at this oasis in downtown Boulder. Have Fun!
