Quince Restaurant

A truly charming restaurant with some exquisite and different foods. I even tried the pigs feet one evening. Make reservations early to ensure that you can get in when you want. The wait staff is wonderful - attentive but not stuffy.

I've eaten here twice, and really loved it both times. The atmosphere is quiet, dimly lit, and a bit confined spatially, but the food is excellent. I still remember a pasta dish I had several years ago. It was quite simple, but the sauce had a really great flavor and mouth feel. I think it was due to some really high quality olive oil.

A very dear friend took me to Quince for my birthday last month. My menu had a personalized birthday greeting printed on top.... the place was wonderful. Plush seating, beautifully decorated. Everything was top of the top, but not over the top. We ordered scallops, a lobster salad, artichoke pasta, duck and halibut. The preparations made us re-think everything we thought we knew about pasta, fowl and fish. The pasta was indescribably sumptuous: light, tender, exquisite. Everything was superb. (including a wonderful wine list and exceptional desserts) Midway through the pasta dish, I spilled my water. Three servers quietly, quickly and expertly removed most everything, patted the table dry, and returned everything to its place within seconds. It was a dance that had to be seen to be believed. It was as though this were part of the ritual of the meal. After a fabulous dinner, and a delightful evening, we were pleasantly surprised by the tab. Other places in the city are far more spendy for far less quality and service. This is a place you won't want to miss. Go ahead. Order pasta. Spill your water. It's amazing.
