I had the most laughs and best time when friends took me to see Doug Ferrari & Friends on Wed. night at the Purple Onion. I didn't know an evening of comedy could be so much fun without costing a fortune. It was better than Cobbs, better than The Punchline and way better than what I heard at the Riviera in Las Vegas. I highly recommend this weekly Wed. night show to one and all. It begins at 800pm so is out early enough to go to work on Thu.

The organ trio we saw at the Onion last Thursday night was incredible! Jack Tone Riordan was the guitarist and wow...wow...Don't know where his regular gigs are, but find him and go.

The Purple Onion used to be one of San Franciscos most revered comedy joints. It hosted all the big names of comedy in the 80s, especially Robin Williams. It also gave stage to a very exciting improvisation scene. Then, inexplicably, it just all died and went away. Thank god The Purple Onion is back and on the comedy scene again. You have to check out the fresh faces of San Francisco comedy and The Purple Onion is probably the best place to do it.
