HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! At my son's 2 month check-up, the front office staff informed me that my deductible would be renewed the next time I came in and I would be paying a lot more than what I had been paying. I thanked them for letting me know and at his 4 month visit I was prepared to pay this amount. I got there and they informed me that it was now going to be substantially less (by like $200). I asked them if they were sure and they said yes, they had called my insurance to check. I paid the money and a month later got a bill for the high amount that was mentioned in the first place. I was soooooo upset! Because now I didn't have that money. I called their billing department and they were NOT sensitive to my situation, no apologies and kept trying to put the blame on me or my insurance. My husband then called to try to set up a payment arrangement and they were not willing to work with us with the amount we needed. They told my husband that we "have the money" and were just trying to trick them. The arrangement they would work with was way higher than what we needed but we took it to avoid collections and figured we would complain to Dr. B's office about their billing agency. The lady (who was the supervisor at this company) called my husband back and told him the deal was off if we complained to Dr. B or reported her to the BBB. She ended up yelling shut-up at my husband at some point, and told him that if we hadn't paid the amount in full by July 1st, she would send us to collections. She even stated that she didn't care about customer service because she didn't get evaluated on it. I called Dr. B's office to inform them what had happened and how this lady had treated us and they informed me then that their office fee for a well baby visit was $200 less than what we paid so I should just pay cash next time. Also, they would listen to the tapes from the billing agency and get back to me. They never did. I went in a couple days later for my son's 6 mo appointment hoping their office would come through and help us out. After an hour of waiting, they informed me the visit would be the high amount as previously mentioned. I said I wanted to pay their cash fee (which I was told I could) and the staff member went back to talk to somebody. She came back and said that I could pay cash if I paid a fee (which I couldn't afford) towards my previous bill. I told her I didn't have the money for the additional fee. Again, front office girl went to the back to talk to somebody, came back, and told me they had to use my insurance fee because it would be insurance fraud to not use it. I knew that was wrong and just asked for my records and left. They never apologized for the inconvenience from last time or today. I came home and called my insurance company and they informed me that they can bill the wrong codes to collect more money from insurance. She then confirmed it is not insurance fraud to pay privately and that I have a right to do that. She also mentioned it sounded really suspicious because their office fee for the service was so much lower and that I probably made a good decision in leaving the practice. I'm now torn at how good a doctor Dr. B is because she obviously doesn't care about how her staff/billing is treating her patients. We are going to let the stupid billing lady send us to collections so we can deal with people that will be willing to work with us. I'm sure we'll get charged a $50 fee for not following through with our appointment because they mentioned that so there's another ethics issue. DO NOT GO HERE! They just want your money and have no tact, or consideration. Besides that, I've only seen Dr. B once since my son was born and I've ALWAYS had more than an hour wait. Dr. B is good, but she's not the best.

I have been taking my daughter to Dr. B, since 2005. I love, love, love, Dr. B. I use to love that she was the only doctor in the practice. It was so much more personal. Now she has Dr. Jill, who is a Nursing Practitioner. Dr. Jill is very nice too, but my children have not been able to see Dr. B in over a year!!!!! We are always scheduled with Dr. Jill now. The office staff is atrocious!! I am looking for a new pediatrician too. I am sick of all of the nonsense that comes out of the office staff's mouthes!

If I could give this office zero stars, I would. I took my son here in 2008 when he was a newborn and I was very dissatisfied with the front desk. There was a specific instance where she told me I didn't have an appointment and I showed her the appointment reminder card she wrote for me. She then told me that I wasn't on the books and there was nothing she could do (without any apology) as if it was my fault. I never went back with him. Then, just two weeks ago, I had another son and I thought I would give Dr. B another shot. We loved her and were sad to have to leave because of her staff. What a mistake that was. First, they wouldn't see us because our son wasn't showing on insurance. I explained that he was four days old and that insurance covers from birth (I know this because I have worked in the medical billing field in the past and because I did my homework). Nope, they still wouldn't see us and we had to come back the next day. Then, I came down with Mastitis and a viral infection the night before my son's scheduled appointment. I called four times, until their office opened and explained the situation and cancelled the appointment. Then, when I came in for his two week check they handed me a $50 'no show' bill. I was floored! I called the billing department right there in the waiting room (because the front desk "couldn't do anything about it") and that employee was worse than the rest! She told me that "I made the decision to stay in bed and I had to deal with the consequences of that decision." Are you kidding me!?!?!?!? I asked her if they had any compassion for a new mom with an infection that came on less than 24 hours before my appointment? I had no control over my illness and there was absolutely no regard for that. Pediatricians are a dime a dozen and no one, myself included, should have to put up with being treated like that. It's really too bad because Dr B is really a great doctor.

I absolutely LOVE Dr. B, her staff however, is another story entirely. When you call, they are so rushed they don't stop to listen to you. I had to repeat my son's name three times. They tell you they're busy and will have to call you back if you are asking for information and then they don't call back. It is very frustrating to deal with her office staff. I think that her staff is going to be detrimental to her practice over time and that's a shame because she, herself, is a superior doctor.

We have been going to Palm Tree Pediatrics since my first son was born in 2006. We first met Dr. B in the hospital the day after our son was born and we fell in love with her! She is a great pediatrician, attentive to our kids needs and even to me as an emotional new mommy! However, her staff leaves much to desire. No one wears name tags, so I never know who I am talking to. The young lady answering the phones is very nice but unprofessional and sometimes she just seems annoyed to talked to you. One of the previous posts indicated the "nurses." The staff are not nurses. LPNs and RNs have a lot more pride in their job and more professionalism. The wait times have become out of control, however, it is nice to get in on the same day on the other hand. We now have two children and both go to see Dr. B. However, we are actively looking for a new pediatrician purely due to the unprofessional staff. I have seen better service given to dog's and cat's at a vet's office and just because it is a medical facility DOES not mean there should be no standard for customer service

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. B since birth in 2007. The pros are that the staff is friendly, and it is a small, one doctor practice, so they do learn your name very quickly. You also get long, undivided attention from the doctor. The wait time, however has gotten ridiculous. I recently had an 8:45 apt. and she did not even arrive to her office until almost 10! Other cons are the one wait room instead of the well/sick rooms. I know that she is currently searching for a partner, which should minimize the wait time. She is also planning on relocating, maybe then there will be a seperation of sick and healthy kiddos. Another thing to note is that the new fee for not canceling 24 hours in advance is $50, yikes! Pretty high for a doctor that is rarely on time herself. Overall, and until recently, we have had a positive experience, but are currently looking for a new pediatrician.

I love Dr. B. We have been going to Palm Tree Pediatrics since we moved here in 2007. I have never had a problem with her or her staff. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely happy to accommodate you when you need it. I do agree that there is a wait, however like one of the other reviewers stated she is the only dr. there so you would expect to wait. The staff know all of my children by name and when I call and mention our last name they know exactly who we are. I would definitely recommend Dr. B to anyone.

My family has been with Dr. B since 2004. She is very knowledgeable and spends time with you explaining what is going on with your child. She always returns our phone calls the same day and knows our kids by name. I would recommend her to anyone with out hesitation.

I've been taking my daughter since 2005 and never had any problems with the staff or doctor or billing. Even though the staff has changed they do a good job. This is the only doctor that if I need to bring my daughter in the same day I can. If I need anything after hours as simple as what dosage or medicine Dr. B will let me know. As far as the Dr. being there on time never had issues with that. Of course you'll wait awhile she is the only Dr. on board.

My son has been going to palm tree since birth in 2007,since then the new staff is so uneducated it's scary. They cant read the chart properly and always call him by our last name, they have to measure his length and head multiple times because they cant remember which measurement was which. They gave him an iron test( where they take blood from his finger)and it was low so the nurse said "i don't know if i pushed it in hard enough,I think i should do it again;or maybe i will wait for Dr. B to get into the office.Scary since she is the one who gives shots.Billing is a nightmare also they never turned our insurance in for a year and a half.So we got a bill from the day my son was born we have been fighting with them for 2 months and they still cant figure out what they are doing. As for the office, you always have to wait for at least an hour because the doc doesn't get there on time, the office staff is very STUPID and should not be allowed to work on rotting carcases lit alone our children.Find a good pediatrician your child's worth it.
