I have shopped at Dwell several times over the years. I have always been very happy. The quality and prices are excellent. They deliver value and excellent service. They are not pushy and they really care about customer satisfaction. Even though I was always delighted with them, I would never have stopped to take the time to write this review if not for something that happened a couple weeks ago. I was playing with my son on the bed (a bed we bought a couple years ago) and one of the support boards (under the bed) snapped from the weight of our playing. I have a very heavy (tempurpedic) bed. It never occurred to me that it was something Dwell should be responsible for. I called Dwell only for advice (figuring I had to go to Home Depot or something to buy a new plank and get it shaved to my size need specifications) just so I'd know what to do. I happened to get through to the owner (she just happened to answer--I did not ask for her). I told her my story and asked for guidance. She actually remembered me -- which I found quite nice, and she told me that was sorry the bed support board had snapped. I told her it was not her fault at all (I was the one rough-housing) and she said it should have been able to support our weight many times over. She asked me for a week to get it fixed. I was very relieved and grateful. Six days later they showed up and replaced all three support boards at no charge. Not only did they handle everything incredibly professionally, they were the ones telling me that they were sorry. I have never in all my years run into such great service.

Dwell has a Studio City location that I didn't know about. Even bigger. Still my fave store in Los Angeles. Wish I had a bigger house!

Even 1 star is too much for this place! Not only are they rude, they simply make up lies when they are not able to deliver what you've paid for! I bought a coffee table, explained to the sales person, several times, what I wanted, namely an espresso colored table ( I even showed her the color I wanted), and every time she assured me that I would get exactly the color that I showed her...when the piece arrived (several weeks later) it was a totally different color, and when I called her while having the delivery person in my house she tried to convince me that I had indeed got the right color...finally they admitted that they had made a mistake...now weeks later, I still have not got the table I paid for, and they are saying possibly by the end of the month I'll get a black table!! and when I tried to explain to the I didn't want black, I wanted dark brown/espresso the manager/owner started yelling at me, accusing me of lying even though I have a receipt thet clearly says "espresso"!! And when I suggested to get a refund, the owner said "it doesn't work that way, we ordered you a table, you have to keep it"! These rude lying people are only trying to rip off your money...you'd be better off never setting your foot in this store!

I bought a sofa, coffee table, desk and chair. I love them! The sofa is wearing well. The Coffe table in rantan is also standing up well. The staff was very helpful. I had them deliver to Orange County without any problems.

BAD BUSINESS! BEWARE! I ordered "custom" furniture and had it returned due to defects. Three tries, and all were bad. I am in court with them for a refund.

We bought a dining room set and we were told it was in stock when we made the purchase,however ,later we found out that it will take 6-8 weeks and it turned out to be 12 weeks before we got our dining room set.The entire time of the process,we had to deal with a rude manager named Kelly not is she only rude she arrogant also no people skills. Her father must own the store only reason she has a job. Forgot to mention that when you walk into the store the sales people are busy playing computer games instead of asking the customer if they need help.

Buyers Beware! I made a substantial purchase; completely furnishing several rooms in my home. Specifically, they over promised on delivery (obvious sales trick) and were horrible with follow-through. Staff employees, had attitude problems and were honestly, rude and disrespectful!
If you choose to use them, make sure they state delivery on your sales order - get everything in writing; my salesperson was Kelly.
Hope this helps others with shopping for future furniture needs!

We recently purchased a large sectional and a customized sofa table for our family room as well as a regular couch for our den and were extremely pleased with the products, service and delivery.
We spent nearly a year working with Kelly, trying various samples of fabric. She has excellent knowledge of fabrics and was extremely helpful and patient with our exacting and prolonged decisions.
We had a minor problem with the sofa table. Dwell picked it up, repaired it and returned it to us, at no charge.
In short, we've been very pleased with our experience and would go to Dwell as our first and probably only choice for any future furniture needs.

Furniture shopping is not a feller's best friend but this didn't hurt at all!
Got a sofa, two clubby sort of chairs, a coffeetable and a thing to put your tv on PLUS a bed and was in and out in less than an hour. My hair takes longer to cut!
JUST DO IT.
Seriously, really great furniture. Helpful people working there. I had a fun time. Went out actually uplifted and excited.

We purchased our sofas, bedroom and diningroom furniture there at Dwell. There was definitely a delay getting merchandise (but, to be fair, we ordered over Thanksgiving which I suspect is a notoriously busy time for furniture).
Aside from that not unexpected glitch we are happy with our choices. There's definitely no buyer's remorse and our house looks great.

bottom line it: great, cool, hip. see it no damn where else. i took a good hard look at my stuff after reading two of these posts and really can't see any validity to the quality inferences
my advice to all you girls out there: go furniture shopping with your menfolk.

Just browsing reviews today and I looked at the postings for my favorite home store, Dwell in Pasadena. I don't believe things happened in the tone claimed by 'annonymous' .. the sales girls at that store are super cool!! I also don't believe Dwell posted that response to 'annonymous', the owner of the store is English and very proper speaking. Dwell has the cooliest stuff in town. what up with these postings insider pages/??

cool offbeat. accessories and merchandising make everything look super hip and make you realize how things could and should look in your own digs.
i don't live in pas anymore but i make a point to get over there to stop in , visit and soak up the rays every chance i get...

We are experiencing something similar as Jorge G did (the bottom comment). When problems arose, their arrogant client service could really get on people's nerves. They were not good listeners and not client oriented. They have some kind of artist attitude which makes them difficult to deal with. Also clients have to pay every penny to fix their design drawbacks. Interestingly, everyone who works there has the same kind of attitude. They talk fast and don't listen. The owner once commented that "We assume whoever is intelligent enough to use a credit card would be able to figure out if the furniture is too big to deliver to their home." But as a customer shopping at a show room where furniture is completely assembled, how would we know how flexibly packed the furniture can be for delivery if the concern is not brought up or warned by the sales rep? Though their designs were likable which caused the unpleasant experience in the first place.

i'd been shopping (uninspired) for a couple of months before a collegue sent me to dwell floor five in the lake district in pasadena.
my partner and i ended up taking advantage of their design services and had them complete our houses' common areas. they did such a phenomenal job, so great!
great professional staff, you really have fun and in the midst of such cool affordable furniture and some of the hippest accessories and displays in l.a.
definitely recommend stopping by

I first noticed their commercial on TV, it reminded me of my favorite TV show "Desperate House Wives" I'm in the entertaiment industry so that's what caught my attention to drive all the way to Pasadena from Beverly Hills, where I currenlty live. I was really impressed to find exclusive pieces of furniture that feel cozy even though high-end modern. I often walk into a store on Roberstson blvd because I'm highly drawn to, Modern living, but the down side is that it feels cold, BUT THIS NEW STORE "DWELL" in Pasadena has that cozy feeling, yet modern look that i 've been craving fo some time now. I, like most people don't have the time nor the money to hire a interior designer to put it ll together for me, but with dwelll you walk in and you have all right there at your finger tips. Great friendly service, gorgeous unique furniture and the prices are so incredibly affordable; I hightly recommend Dwell in Pasadena.

Dwell has a beautiful selection of very stylish furniture. In the past we purchased a beautiful leather sofa. Recently we fell in love with a large wood bookshelf.
At first we had some problems with follow-up from the sales staff, but after getting the owner involved all our problems were worked out.
Dwell remains our favorite furniture store!
PROS: Great stylish furniture, great prices
CONS: Slight operational problems, but getting better...

I bought a Cal King bed with a head board and base along with a matching 8` armoire. They are gorgeous pieces...on display.
When delivered, the bed was way too high and they made me pay to have a new one delivered (Ok that was reasonable). BUT, The new base for the mattress was flimsy and the carpenter had to return to add support. Overall, I didn't get the impression that they were trying to please me after they had made their sale and charged my credit card. It's not until you plead your case to the owner that things start coming together.
PROS: Nice Furniture
CONS: shoddy post-sale service. furniture craftsmanship isn't stellar
