My son absolutely loves this school. He is a very kinesthetic learner and all the hands-on work is wonderful for him. There are so many individual projects that the children get to choose from each day and my son loves that he gets a choice in what he is going to work on. There is also a time each day for ""circle time"" when everyone gets together and they discuss a certain topic. The children are encouraged to ask questions and volunteer any information that they have about the topic. My son especially loves to team up with his classmates and work on his letters and letter sounds. The staff is kind and respectful of kids and parents alike. I feel that this school is perfect.

Pros: Children are, and are encouraged to be, actively involved in their learning.

It is so refreshing to walk into a school like this one. The children are working, mostly independently. Since kids learn best from each other, each child sets an example for the others. This is the genius of Montessori, and also the director, Naseem, who sets a standard in creating learning environments which all schools should try to achieve. I love seeing the children concentrating on a project or a piece of work-especially since so many kids today are said to have attention deficit disorder. If you want a school like the one in the old Charlie Brown cartoons where the teacher drones on and on, this is not the place. But if you want to see your child mature, have self-esteem, and feel fulfilled at the end of the day, this is a great school!

Pros: Not a one-size-fits-all approach; Children develop as both people and students.

Cons: No TV or video, no junk food.

This review by pepsid is FALSE! It is sad there are those who wish to sabotage a school with false statements. My daughter has been with Rising Stars for 2 years when Jackie was the owner. A year ago Naseem bought the school \r\n\r\nEven with the changes my daughter loves the school ? it seems more than before. She looks forward to going to school and is sad when we go on vacation to even Disneyland that she will be missing a day of school. At the age of 4, she writes her name and small words, recognizes letter sounds for reading, knows all the continents, counts to 30, add numbers, and has a good understanding of relationships -My grandma is my dad's mom, My aunt is my mom's sister. I can go on. She has extremely good social manners. My daughter is happy, and verbally expressive. All her classmates are her best friends. If the first review were true my child would be an extreme introvert by now.\r\n\r\nThe teachers are caring, and loving; they provide good education and structure. Many of the teachers started way before Naseem was there. Unlike many other schools, there is a very low turnover of teachers. Let's put it this way. If it was so bad one would believe that the teachers would leave too. But they didn't!\r\n? The children do ""work"". The children are able to grow and learn at their own pace and they are ENCOURAGED to EXPRESS themselves. The teachers know when to give more encouragement. They learn to respect property and follow guidelines and always clean up afterwards\r\n\r\nI highly recommend them to have your child in the trust of their care.

Pros: Focus on real life social interactions - Strong solid education for pre-schoolers and kindergarteners -Teachers are great -caring and loving.

Cons: No computer education cirriculum.

A strict military-type school that creates unhappy children. No talking, laughing, communication with friends or group projects. Just silent, individual work and marching in lines with hands behind your back like a prisoner. Parents not welcome in the classrooms. Definately not a place where a kid can be a kid.\r\n

Pros: Strict obedience? If that's considered a pro.

Cons: Everything.
