4 Stars: very good (by Mathew M.)

The golf courses here are decent, the location is right next to the rose bowl, which is nice. Good parking is hard to find sometimes, but the rose bowl parking lots are never full. I took lessons at this golf course and it is pretty enjoyable to play here, the weather is usually good and the people on the course aren't anal if you're going to slow and if you're going really fast they'll let you pass them up sometimes.

5 Stars: Cool local bar (by glen w.)

I only found out about this place by playing golf there, but locals of all ages can be seen in the bar having fun that do not even play golf! People in their early 20's to people in their 60's from all walks of life, from golfers, horse back riders to bikers even a rugby player or 2 from across the pond!!
The drinks are mixed well and not pricey including the beer! All except bottled water at 4 bucks a pop!! what the hell price gaughing asle 6!It is not even that large a water, every store sells the same size for a buck or 2!
As far as food goes the breakfast is real good and best as far as quality and price, but the lunch items are just ok and overpriced for what you get compared to the breakfast. They also quite serving menu items except appetizers at 3 o-clock and run out of these regularly.
But if all you want is a good drink and are not worried about food you have to check them out, great stop after work to relax on the patio or inside to watch sports on the big screen. Hector has been making the bloody mary mix here for over 20 years and it is damn good, while JW makes one hell of a margarita that everyone in our foursome usually orders! Hector or Saki are there during the days until 3 and jw thursday-saturday after 3 until 8 or 830.

PROS: great drinks and prices, lots of laughs, great views, patio, cigar friendly!
CONS: Hours, they close early 7-730 sun-wed, 8-830 Thur.-Sat.

5 Stars: The best course in the Pasadena Area (by John F.)

Brookside is by far the best course in the Pasadena area. It is hard to get an early time on the weekend and just about impossible to get an early time on course one but the course is always maintained well and the greens are always in good shape. The $48 to walk on the weekends is a little steep but they have twilight for 1/2 price and a super-twilight for $14 on the weekends.

The range is my personal favorite, they allow you to hit off the grass on Tues and Thurs and offer discounts on range cards over $10.

4 Stars: (by Colin M.)

Brookside is a better public course. It's flat, but has some water and decent scenery. Pasadena residents get a huge discount on greens fees, but for the rest of us its a bit pricy at times. They have great twilight rates in the summer, as low as $5 at certain times. It's hard to get on on Mondays due to their tournament schedule, but I would recommend it if your looking for a public course in the area.

5 Stars: (by Susan R.)

I really enjoy playing on this course. It is in a great location, right by the Rose Bowl. During the summer you can play twilite golf and enjoy a cheap round, even with a cart. Plus the course is not too intimidating, even for a beginner golfer. It is also a great course to hold events such as tournaments. Call ahead to make a tee time, especially during prime golf season.

5 Stars: (by Andy C.)

Brookside is a nice course to play early morning. It has nice greens and the fairways aren't too narrow.

The green fees are reasonable and the facilities are well kept.

3 Stars: Decent Public Course around the Rose Bowl (by Stu M.)

A driving range and 2 nice public 18's that encircle the Rose Bowl Stadium. During the fall, the course becomes the parking lot for UCLA games. Surprisingly, the course is able to survive all the cars and tailgaters to remain in good shape by public course standards. Pretty flat and open, but generally well designed with several water hazards including a concrete canal that runs the length of the course that has magical abilities to suck in golf balls..

PROS: Nice location, good shape
CONS: Parking lot for rose bowl games
