Have had problems both with vet service and boarding  1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Vet: I had one of my dogs neutered at the GSAH. The operation had appeared to go well, but after a few days he began to have a lot of swelling and infection around the wound. I called GSAH to schedule an appointment for them to look at his wound and hopefully get some antibiotics, but they refused to see him for another week, claiming that it was unnecessary. Knowing they were incorrect I brought the dog into GSAH that same day, and demanded that someone take a look at him. Not surprisingly, they found that he had a rather serious infection that would require immediate administration of both topical and ingested antibiotics. They even went so far as to say that the dog was lucky I brought him in right away, because at his size (7 lbs) the infection could have proved to be deadly within a matter of days.Boarding: Despite my better judgement, in a pinch, one weekend I chose to to board my two dogs at GSAH for two nights. Their prices seemed reasonable, approximately $17 day. My dogs were missing records for one vaccination that they required, which they offered to administer during their weekend clinic for $10 each, which I thought was completely reasonable. They also asked if it would be okay to walk the dogs, and asked me to sign a waiver to acknowledge that I understand the risks associated with walking my dogs. Lo and behold, when I went to pick the dogs up, the bill was almost double what I had understood the total cost to be. I found that in addition to boarding, they charge $8 a dog (per walk) to walk the animals in their care (I thought walks were considered part of the package, as every other boarding facility I have used considers them to be essential and humane and does not charge for them). This walking fee is neither posted at the facility nor was it mentioned by the receptionist when we arranged for the dogs' care. I also found that they charged me triple the price they quoted for the vaccinations. After dealing with the billing errors - I was only able to get them to change the cost of the vaccinations. I then was given my dogs. They were in fine condition other than the fact that their fur was smeared with feces (I brought them in freshly groomed) and they reeked of urine. I can only image this occurred because the cages they kept them were not cleaned often enough. I could not believe what terrible care a VETERINARY HOSPITAL took of my healthy dogs.I will not be returning for either boarding or vet services in the future.
