Awesome food! I tried it first with a Sharing Spree and loved it. I've been back since and will continue to try new items on their menu!

Thank you Mark, the owner, I will highly recomend this resturaunt to anyone within 100 miles of Wilsonville. I am sure they have the best food and very fair prices compared to anyone I can think of.
My wife and I use Abella for our monthly date night away from the kids. We love it there and have never had a bad meal ever.

Thanks again Mark, We love you!!!!

Pros: Great Service with Excellent Food

Cons: Wine tastes too good!

I was a long time customer at Abella's--it was my favorite resturant. Amazing ambiance, food, and service made it excellent--an all around package.

Now, I'd rather go to Olive Garden.

A staff change and a cut-back to using significantly poorer ingredients and means of preparing food have sunk this resturant. As a frequent customer I've had most of the dishes before and after about three months ago. Since about that time most of them have become mediocre, tasteless, and some even a bit gross. The 14-22$ dishes no longer are priced appropriately for their quality.

A funny, approachable, warm middle-aged serving staff has been replaced with a young, attractive, and social repulsive crew that leaves you feeling akward whenever they swing by.

If you have read a good review of Abella's, check the date. I'm willing to bet it hasn't been written in the past couple.

Take a pass on Abella's--you won't be happy, regardless of your order.

Cons: Low quality ingredients poorly prepared, bad service

My boyfriend and I discovered abella on one of our many trips south on I-5 and have since incorporated it into every trip. They have a great selection of wines at a number of price points and if you are feeling overwhelmed the staff or owners are eager to suggest something. We have never had a bad meal, the only down side is that they are a small operation so if they get unexpectedly busy you may have to wait for a table. Even so, the food is well worth the wait and there is something to please everyone. We love this place!

Pros: Great food and wine in our own backyard

Cons: super popular on weekends, make reservations!

I have eaten in this establishment now approximately 4 times, as I enjoy Italian Food. On every occasion I found the staff unresponsive to my wife and I. On the last occasion they ignored us for sometime, and the waitress was so rude I insisted on talking to the owner but they were unavailable. I encourage everyone who may like Italian to go to Portland until we get a new restaruant in town that can truly respect the customer. I strongly discourage you from even considering this restaurant. I am extremely offended how we were treated. As to the Food-the health code issues raised by the earlier post-would make me concern also.

Cons: This is one of the Worst Restaurants I have been in.

We stopped in by chance and decided to check this place out. While it was a bit pricey we ordered our meals. I requested no cheese on my salad and it came with cheese on it and it had pine nut rocks in it and we had a chipping of one of our guests tooth from biting into it. I asked for my salad to have the cheese removed and was told that she would have to throw it way and couldn't I just eat it. 1st offense! SO I ordered simple spaghetti and it came covered in parmesan cheese that I requested to be removed. She was rudely abrupt and I was told she would have to throw another plate of food away and gave more rude attitude. When she returned I requested that she take the food away and that her rude attitude needed adjusting. The other entrees were also problematic as no one finished their meals. As she whisked the plates away, she informed us that all the meals were compted and told us to leave. When trying to find management there was no one to be found.
I say skip this place and go to a much more professionally run establishment. Hopefully with a professional staff attitude.

Although located in a strip mall this is a very nice Italian restaurant. Food is good, and although not exceptionally creative, for the price it is well worth a visit.

I was thinking about dining a Abella but then I checked thier health inspection. They were the second lowest heath score in Clackamas county. I don't care if they have the best food in town. If they don't care enough to protect the consumers by taking care of the sanitation fo the restaurant, I will never eat there. After I saw the inspection, I saw the restaurant featured on Dirt Dining on KPTV. The manager in the news segment blamed the new chef for the problems. Note to manager: If you have black walls behind your dish tank & dirty ceilings, it's not the new guy, it's your poor management. That stuff didn't grow overnight, it's a long term problem. She looked like a fool on the news. I will never eat there nor will anyone I know. The manager seemed to think that when Dirty Dining had a camera in her face it was time to promote her dirty restaurant saying things were made from scratch...what a fool.

This is a very fine restaurant with a great wine selection and outstanding food. I have eaten there 4 or 5 times now and have never been disappointed. I will drive from Tigard to have dinner here. The service is top notch as well.

We'd heard about this place from a few friends and decided to go. We loved it! The service was great. The owner himself brought our plates to us and made sure everything was okay. As we were walking out the door, he came over to us and thanked us again for coming.
The food was very good as well. Everything was perfectly flavored and cooked. We'll be back for sure.

Hubby & I tried this unassuming little place and were charmed. I had the fettucine and hubby lasagne - both were VERY good. They also had a nice reasonably priced wine list.

Abella's is a great hometown restaurant. The service is wonderful and the food very good. A bit too much garlic on the Cesar for me, but everything else is wonderful. If they would just put Gnochi on the menu, the rating would be even higher. Nice wine selection. Great place.

Great Italian food. The staff is friendly and the dining atmosphere is very quiet. A nice menu with daily specials. The prices could be lower, but well worth it. We have eaten here several times and have always had a great meal.

My wife and I love this place. It is fun to sit in the bar and sample wine ?? they have a great selection. Some our favorites on the menu are the beef ravioli, calzones, eggplant parm, antipasti appetizer. We frequent this restaurant and find the service to be very good and flexible.

My first experience with Abella's Italian Kitchen was shortly after they opened. I ordered take out and I was not impressed. The food was bland and overpriced for the amount of food. It was quite some time before I went back.

The food has improved and I've been back for lunch several times. The bread tends to be almost crouton like but if you use the oil and red wine vinegar it is still tasty and it's a nice treat while you wait for food. I also enjoy the outside dining area even though there really isn't a view of anything. The decor is nice and accommodates both business professionals and casual diners.

Since I live in Wilsonville and work just outside of it, it is nice to have an Italian eatery here but the lunch prices are steep and the portion sizes are still small for the price. You can plan to walk out with a lunch check of over $30 for two entrees during lunch not including a salad, appetizers, or drinks.

When we first moved to the area I had to get used to "down town" being a strip mall. The only dining options were chains. Thank GOD Abella arrived to bring some originality. I've eaten there several times under all sorts of circumstances - with my active young sons, date night with friends, and business meetings. I've always really enjoyed it. My food has always been excellent, and I find the service very friendly and accommodating. It is true that the small independents are more likely to have "things happen" then a chain, like being out of a certain wine, or having a less than perfected system. But I've never experienced this myself at Abella. I recommend it highly.

Wonderful italian restaruant, with the abiance of wax burning candles in entry of bistro, well decorated casual bar, with a average selection of beverages,Excellent service while being served from man and wife owner personally, otherwise young barista's and servers that are not as proffesional, and dress to casual for business casual non children friendly atmosphere. Extrodinary pasta, second to none. There pasta's are fesh and over the top.Sure to impress time and time agian with consistancy.Would enjoy if candles were to be litten before seated at table.I utelize this italian bistro for business meetings and clientel and adult luncheons.Enjoying business professional atmosphere, there wine selection could use improvement, also wine vinegrette and olive oil not served unless asked, and of poor quality for quality of pasta entree'sand not always conveniant at table area.Asked from young servers if we were finished to often and to soon.Would like more time for privacy of conversations and enjoyment of meal.Parking is a hassle. I will return time and time agian for the consistancy of there pasta's and non kid friendly business casual atmosphere.I think having the owners personally take itnrest and the class of serving yout hemself to insure the highest quality of service you must experience for your self !

My husband and I went to Abella 3 times now. The food is good. Wine list is ok. Service is spotty. It really caters to Wilsonville burbs and lot of younger people (teen-20s), as well as some families. Service is disorganized; i.e. they serve the main dish before you barely start your salad and forget to light the candle. The wine is served too warm. Prices are a bit high for the area. Food is good, not overly imaginative, but solid pasta without complaints. I can't think of anything horrible, nor can I think of anything outstanding to report. It's just average....

Abella's is a fantastic restaurant! My husband and I frequent it often. The staff is always warm and helpful and the food is excellent! And I do mean excellent! While reading a few other reviews, I found myself shocked at some of the things they had to say. The food is anything but bland, and I feel as though they have a style all of their own. Why can't a restaurant be elegant in design, gourmet in food style, and casual in feel? I like how they pulled all of these attributes together. It makes the place unique and intriguing. We have been impressed enough to have taken important clients there as well. So, all in all, Abella's is a fantastic place! I highly recommend it!

Tried the happy hour. Calimari was just okay, a bit rubbery. Polenta was overpowered by the tanginess of the sauce. Both are on the regular menu. No happy hour drink prices. Abella has a nice wine list and advertises it as "notable" but the wait and bar staff do not look old enough to drink. Seriously, class of last year. Jeans and t-shirts are the uniforms and it doesn't suit the prices. Not to mention the paper table cloths. Restaurant interior is nice. Too expensive for just ok food and very casual, inexperienced service staff.

Hello all "foodies"
This restaurant was wonderful! From the hostesses bright smile to the food on our plate, the experience was great. The server was knowledgable about wine, and the menu, offering great pairings and suggestions. Being a small privately owned and managed restaurant is hard, yet they seam to pull it off! Often times, out of an item or two, but that is to be expected out of a small restaurant! Food taste fresh, is house made and traditional (athough the bollegnese (sp?) does have cream...). High five to the chef! Great atmosphere and an over all great dining experience!!

Appreciate the effort on the wine stemware, wine list is ok for the burbs. Wine storage is improper (i.e. reds served too warm). We tried this place because it's on passport unlimited dining card and we'll give it another couple tries (we always give new places 3 chances, especially if they accommodate wine geeks)! On to food: we had a nice dinner, it was good, but didn't knock our socks off. We love Italian food, but are also aware of the PNW flare, which we appreciate. We had a pasta dish (alfredo) and chicken, both were nice. Service was very friendly and warm. They were rushed on their feet (busy Friday night), but we were not ignored. We ordered the antipasto and it wasn't worth the $, too few meats and just lacking in effort. If they had parm di proscuitto, then it would be worth it, but seemed to be middle of the road. All in all, it was average to good and expect it can be even better. Again, as a wine geek we appreciate the wine list, stems and will be back to enjoy at least a bottle or two!

Very pleasant, comfortable setting. The staff was consistently courteous. The wine list is relatively short but with some good choices, although a touch on the expensive side given the way Abella emphasizes affordability in its advertising. (The two "special" wines offered by our server for that day were about $55/bottle.) A beef-based "soup of the day" was very good - hearty and flavorful. Unfortunately, my lasagne and my wife's chicken Marsala were both bland. Not bad - just bland. Desserts were also unremarkable. The host/owner (?) is a touch too aggressive about inquiring if things are OK. Once is enough. Four times is too many. And a pet peeve: even in casual restaurants, the official representative of the place should not be in jeans. Basically, this struck me as a place that can't quite decide what it is: neighborhood Italian watering hole? Upscale nouveau Italian? Family restaurant? Special evening restaurant? It seems to try to be all, and of course, it can't.

I went to Abella with my boyfriend's family for a birthday dinner and was very pleased with the menu. I can't eat gluten (nor can my BF's sister) but the kitchen was able to accomodate us, leaving the flour coating off my chicken (and her halibut) and substituting a wonderfully firm polenta for the pasta that usually accompanies the piccatta dishes. The sauce was so good, I was hunting for a spoon to virtually lick my platter clean! And the Mushroom risotto! Mmmmm.
The wine list is long (I think that other reviewer confused his restaurants...) and the service was pretty good. I would definitely go back again and again just for the piccatta though!

If you get the halibut, be sure to order it rare... it's much flakier that way!

MMMMM!

From their extensive wine list ( featuring primarily Italian wines) to their incredible food, this place is a can't miss! I had the pleasure of meeting the chef/owner while I was there and i was really impressed. The pasta is all fresh, he makes his "napoli tomato basil" sauce from scratch and the menu is comletely "user friendly". Nothing pretentious here, just exceptional Italian food like the stuff I grew up with back East. I';m really looking forward to my next visit.

The hostess during the day was the only bright spot to my visit, she sat me as soon as i walked through the door. Then the experience turned sour. Food was cold, and i saw my server twice through the entire visit. Even if the food had been warm is was not worth eating. The marinara was obviously from canned tomatoes. I asked to speak to a manager and there was not even one present. It will be some time before i go back there. I hope they correct their mistakes. Those being; poor food quality, inexperienced server, and a poor wine list.

I asked to speak to a manager and there was not even one present. It will be some time before i go back there. I hope they correct their mistakes. Those being; poor food quality, inexperienced server, and a poor wine list.

Pros: Quick meal

Cons: Poor quality and service

.

My boyfriend and I discovered Abella a little after they opened, and we have been going back ever since. Seating is always extremely quick and the service is excellent. The food is delicious and tastes really fresh. They also have a wonderful selection of wine, and they're marionberry lemonade is amazing! It's nice to have such a good italian place in Wilsonville.
