What a relaxing place to stay! From the moment you check in (seated, with a fruit drink at a desk) to relaxing on the beach in your own cabana chair, the Mauna Lani is terrific. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful - we were upgraded to a nicer room because we checked in a bit early and our original room wasn't ready yet. There are several options for restaurants and we ate at all of them. The Honu Bar has great sushi and lighter meals. The grill near the pool makes great lunches and snacks and brings them right to you if you like. The Canoe House has amazing sunset views and delicious food - it's the best place for a special dinner celebration. The breakfast buffet will knock you out for hours if you try everything, but you have to try the Hawaiian french toast with special toppings - so good!Last but not least, the Mauna Lani has amazing ancient fish ponds on the property as well as a guided tour twice a week of their sea turtle pond, shark pond, and koi pond. Every year on the 4th of July, they return the 3 year old turtles to the ocean, so there are many turtles who live right on the beaches in front of the Mauna Lani -- an amazing experience to see them so close and to have several swim right by us as we snorkeled.

PROS: Green sea turtles (honu) everywhere!
