Wonderful Thai meals. Extensive menu from all over Thailand, including much that you don't find in other Thai restaurants here. The service is, as in Thailand, very friendly and gracious.

We had the most insulting experience. We will never go back again!
The staff chased us out on the parking because they were not sure if we've paid.
They kept us standing in the parking lot. After they verified receiving our payment, they give us no apology. The recent expansion must be gone over their head.

Must have been in a country. "Other than Thailand." The Thais, do use jalepenos( if necessary ).They much prefer original Thai Peppers but will use whatever they have. After 18 months of living in Thailand, Marrying a Thai and eating Thai food for over 41 years, I think I know what Thai food should taste like. LoS has Authentic Thai food and is the best in Vegas. The next time you visit Thailand, you should watch the cook to see what is really put in the food. Kids today would say, "LoS RULES"

Found this restaurant a couple of years ago. I go back twice a year when I am in Vegas for a trade show. Best Thai restaurant I have found so far for flavor of food and presentation. After about 6:30pm, reservations are almost a must.

I was a regular customer here for years and now the place is run down. The service is bad, and the food is terrible I don't know what happened. This place is a has been. Maybe they sold the restaurant or fired the chef but there are about 10 Thai restaurant better than here in Vegas. Oh did I say they are overpriced and they did not even have the wine that was on the menu that I ordered. Terrible!!

This place was absolutly horrible! Ruined my entire trip to Vegas. It smelled so bad in there like no one cleans anything and the people are so rude and slow! The owners daughter at the front treats people in the worst way and even bragged about how she rips people off and they dont notice! I almost got sick after I saw insects inside the place!! I would never go back here ever again and no one else should either!

My husband and I were on our first trip alone, without our kids in three years. After reading several reviews on different sites I was really looking forward to eating at the Lotus of Siam. Ordered the stuffed chicken wings...I believe they were about $8-$9 for two wings that were overly breaded, not very tasty and the meat inside was quite tough. Had the crispy rice/sour sausage dish (also $8 I believe) which was highly recommended and was very disappointed. A small plate (looked like about a bowl of rice) came out with a few pieces of cabbage that was cut up. I thought it might be similar to something like the Chinese lettuce wraps when I looked at it, but it was quite spicy for a three and very, very salty. The last dish we had was the drunken sea bass on noodles. The noodles were overcooked, but the fish was good. The meal came to $40 which was a RIPOFF!! The only good things out of this meal was the fish and the beer my husband had. Not sure why the last reviewer was so impressed. No ambience and definitely not the best Thai in North America!! We came back and went to Sawasdee in Vancouver for a great Thai meal.

I agree with another reveiwer. I've read all the glowing reviews and I just don't see what the fuss is about. The prices are higher and the portions are smaller compared to other Thai restaurants. I love Thai food and have eaten at many Thai restaurants across the US and this isn't even in the top 20 let alone of the the best ever.

I've tried this restaurant almost 10 times in the hopes that I was visiting on a bad day but I haven't found a good day yet.

The decor is okay, thought it is normally hot and the tables aren't always clean. The bathrooms always have a strange sewage like smell to them. The food is okay but rather bland. However, don't mention this to the staff or they'll bring out food so hot that it is inedible. And at lunch time there is often a line out the door!

I won't be coming back.

I have seen raves on many sites about Lotus of Siam. When I went to Las Vegas I decided to try it. It is in a run down strip mall, however the inside is pleasant. The food was average, somewhat bland. I went for lunch and tried yen ta fo noodle soup and chicken panang. Bland. Maybe I caught them on an off day. They had a buffet going that looked ok too. I just expected to be blown away and wasnt. I wont return unless i rent a car because it is really out of the way if you are staying on the strip, and it was tough getting a cab to come and pick me up when I was done.

i love the spicy beef salad, the red curries, the huge prawns, the steamed fish and the desserts. service is fine, price and value are both outstanding. i wonder if some of the mixed reviews stem from the several prior owners/chefs that did business in the same location.

I've been to Lotus of Siam several times and generally its quite good. Not quite as spectacular as the reviews would make it out to be but definitely good food. However, I haven't found it to be consistent as there have been a few times when the food was downright horrible. Perhaps those are the nights when the head chef is on leave? The wine list is impressive but there have been times when I've requested a bottle and they have told me that they have sold out which leads me to believe that a lot of the bottles they list don't exist on the premises. The service is courteous but nothing to write home about either. All in all, I keep coming back for the good food, which is about 80% of the time while 20% of the time it has been sub-par.

This is the first restaurant I am taking the time to write a review for. I usually dont either because I am too lazy or the food does not merit any more of my time. However, LoS leaves me with no option but to write this.
I am somewhat of a foodie (usually on a budget) and extremely hard to please and very very opinionated when it comes to food (ask my wife!) but this is hands down the best Thai food (best food actually) in the US.
We had been there for our anniversary last weekend and my wife and I were blown away by the quality of food and the service. Both were A+ and after our first visit, we canceled all our other reservations in the fancier LV restaurants and readjusted our schedule to make sure we got our meals there.
While you wait for a table (yes - reservations would be a good idea), you can see reviews and awards right from 1998 - 2007 proclaiming it to be the best Thai food in the country. Two things stick out immediately -
1- They have been consistently awesome for over 9 years now and
2- The reviews come from places like NYT, LAT and other respected publications
We had the Tom Yum Noodle (its in the entree section), the Shrimp Pad Ped, Cat Fish Thai Basil, Shrimp red curry and Sea Bass Panang curry (that was over 2 meals :) and all of it was awesome. If I had to pick 1 with a gun to my head, it would be the Tom Yum Noodle.
Apparently the owner (Saipin Chutima) supervises the kitchen EVERY DAY and this dedication and love to her art reflects in the final product. That also is the reason they dont open restaurants in another city as she wants to be there when the food is being prepared.
We are not big gamblers but this restaurant would be the single biggest reason we go back to LV.
Yes - I have had Thai food in NY, SFO, Orlando, Chicago, DC etc..but this is the BEST THAI FOOD in the US.
Enjoy and yes - do leave some place for dessert!

Our highly anticipated return to this excellent Thai restaurant did not disappoint in the least. We started off with nam kao tod (sour sausage) - minced sour sausage mixed with green onion, fresh chili, ginger, peanut, crispy rice, herbs and lime juice incredible, my taste buds thought they died and went to heaven. We ordered level 8 on the heat scale which was not too bad. Our entrees were spicy jackfruit curry with chicken and fried catfish w/basil. We both felt the jackfruit (similar to artichoke hearts) was rather bland, but the curry and chicken were excellent. The fried catfish w/basil was probably the best Thai dish I have ever eaten. We shared a dish of coconut ice cream w/sticky rice and mango which was very good, but overpriced. As others have noted, the location and decor are not the best.

I've been to Thialand on several occasions, and I think I know the food pretty well. When I order my dinner in Thai, I expect them to figure out that I've been there and make me real Thai food. I'll let you in on a little secret: Thai food isn't made with JALAPENOS! This place is supposed to be the best in town; not only according to Citysearch, but also Al Roker. How much did they have to pay to get this review? I make better Thai food from Tommy Tang's book then they do. Go to King & I. Avoid this ersatz-Thia place if you can.

As a restaurant, there is only one way to survive all the glamour of Las Vegas Strip and the millions of restaurants at all those fancy hotels on the strip: Excellence! and that is what Lotus of Siam is: Excellent! We found it on Zagat and tried to give it a try and were so happy we did. It was a small restaurant in a shopping center and at first I thought maybe we are at the wrong place but once we experienced the service and the food and the PRICES! we were just amazed. To see more than one bottle of Turley on the wine list for $65.00 we just could not believe it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! DONOT MISS IT!

Don't go for standard "American" Thai food, go for the Northern menu. Fabulous flavors and combinations. Everytime I fly to New York I have to bring several dishes with me to meet the demand.

I have had Thai food all over the country including extensively in New York City for the year I lived there; I consider Thai food to be my favorite cuisine, and the food I had at Lotus of Siam was hands down the worse Thai food I've ever had! The soup I ordered had a quarter inch of grease skimming the surface, was bright orange (which it shouldn't be!) and contained chicken that was processed. The noodle dish I also had (Pad See Ewe) was completely bland and also contained processed chicken. I was expecting great things for this place since it has such a high rating, but I left feeling very cheated and wanting my money back. If you are a TRUE THAI FOOD LOVER, you will be more than disappointed!

This is one of the best Thai Restaurant in Las Vegas by far. They offer authentic Thai cuisines and my favorite dish is Tom Yum Koong. Although Pad Thai shrimps is used to be my favorite but for some reason Pad Thai at this place wasn't that good. The staff dressed really nice and very friendly. Overall I like this restaurant very much and highly recommend to everyone.

We had high expectations because of all the great reviews.....Rosengarten Report and Gourment. Met all of our expectations. Great food....service. Lotus of Siam is definitely one of the best Thai restaurants anywhere. However, don't be drawn to the lunch buffet, which sports more cheap chinese lunch buffet food than Thai. Definitely ask for the dinner menu and peruse through that instead. You will NOT be disappointed.

Also, note that the restaurant is closed in the afternoon between 2:30 and 5:30.

I have been there at lunch time & yes, you have to be there early, otherwise, the food runs out & they do not bring out more. The food is ok for the buffet price you pay. I hate the red sauce that they use in the Pad Thai. It is a buffet madhouse....no atmosphere at lunch. I still think Jasmine Thai Gourment on Buffalo is better.

This did not live up to the hype that was advertised. The buffet was small. The food was almost gone by the time we arrived at 1p. They didn't fix any more and some ladies complained and they just said sorry. I paid 7.50 for noodles. On top of that everytime I got a refill on my drink I was charged for it. Service was very bad. I guess if you order off the menu they take care of you. The worst experience of our Vegas trip.

Lotus of Siam is the best Thai restaurant in America. Don't just take my word for it. In its October, 2001 issue, Gourmet magazine called Lotus of Siam "the best Thai restaurant in the United States." The duck curry (replete with cherry tomatoes, small grapes, pineapple and coconut milk) was the best curry dish Ive ever had and I consider myself an expert on good curry.

Lotus of Siam is the best restaurant and value in Las Vegas. The decor is unassuming but the food is anything but! Saipin is a culinary genius. Be sure to ask for Bill, Saipin's husband, when you arrive. He makes wonderful food and wine recommendations (they have an impressive selection of Rieslings), and is a very funny guy as well! We were completely charmed by their hospitality and felt as though we were guests in their home.
