Bought a sectional approx two weeks ago, was told it was new and when it was delivered 2 days late we found a big hole on the back, call and informed them of this and the said they would out someone to take a look at it, guy heads a few days later looks at it pull out some crazy glue and says as good as new. I laughed an said that's how you repair a 2600 couch. He informed me it was. I called the store a and got the runaround and told to call back in three days when the manager was in. He told me he would swap it out for another one they had on the floor. I said I wanted a new one, he said its only ben on the floor for two days wife said OK, received it cushions are all different firmness snags in it, looks worse than the ten year old couch we replaced and for $2600

Customers original purchase was for a sectional the husband selected without his wife being present. When delivered, the wif was not happy. We allowed the customer to reselect. The sectional that both decided on was from our floor and knew this was the one they were going to get. However, neither the customer or us had noticed the hole in the back. When they called several days later we explained the only way to take care of this was to glue it. The husband agian was ok with this till the service man came out and had to do this in front of the wife. The wife wanted a new piece, we again tried to accomodate the wife by making another exchange. Several months later the wife calls complaining of the fabric pulling up or unravilling. We picked up the piece with the problem and had it recovered. The customer again calls and now is having a problem with the seat cushions and again we have it recovered. After all the service the wife is now unhappy because the fabric appears to be unravilling once more. We finally had to tell the customer to come in and reselect one last time and to make surre this was the set and fabric she could use in her home. NO OTHER STORE would have tollerated the indecision and miscommunication between the husband and wife nor would any other store have worked harder to try to make them happy. To see this report after their final visit and verbal accolades here in the store demonstrates the lack of integrity this customer possessed.

Emily's delivered a bed for my son and their is a gap between the footboard and the frame. They refused to fix it. Mike said that I should stop being so picky.

These people should work for the mob, they are crooks!
We were convinced by one of their salespeople to order a child's bedroom set out of their catalog when we didn't see anything we liked on their showroom floor. We were very leary about ordering furniture without actually seeing it, but were reassured it was exactly what we were looking for and we could always return it if it didn't work out. The bed was a queen (not a full) and didn't fit in our sons bedroom. The dresser was beat up and the drawers were difficult to open and would fall out if you pulled them out too far. It was the worst quality junk I've ever seen. Our attempts to get this resolved and/or get a refund escalated up to the manager over the course of 2 months with no resolution. The manager ignored our calls for weeks! They wanted to charge us a restocking fee to return it, and said we couldn't get a refund - we'd have to find something else in the store that we liked.
This only got resolved after I wrote to the attorney general, better business bureau and some television news stations.
If you've gotten the run-around from this store, you really need to file a complaint with the better business bureau and call the new stations. It's unbelievable that a store can treat customers like this and get away with it.

wow I am surprised because I bought a bedroom set from the Avondale store for my daughter and we love it. We were treated well and the did include free delivery in the price of the furniture. We went back about a year later and wanted a chest of drawers to go with the set. That was out of my price range. I told her I needed it under 200 and she found a nice one to match, This I was able to put in the back of my Vibe. We are very pleased with it. Easy open drawers. We have had no problems and the people are very helpful.

The furniture looks comparable to what you have seen at the better stores but is clearly not of the same quality. We bought anyways just for the lower pricing. We needed a decent dining table and that is what we got. We will see how it holds up over time. The sales people seemed to work together (good cop bad cop style) to con us into a sale but they really did not need to as we knew what we were getting here. Use extreme caution, do your research, and do not buy if you can not take it home the same day.

I went to Emily's Furniture 5/02/09 to buy a recliner at the store in Glendale AZ . They were supposed to be having a closeout sale due to the store closing at that location. When we walked in all of the prices marked on the furniture were crossed out and listed as retail. A sales lady approached us to help in our quest. I explained I was looking for a good recliner but didn't want to spend more than $300. She said they didn't have anything for that price. We thanked her and proceeded to leave. She says's "well, wait I might be able to get you one close to that. If I can will you buy it today?" I stated it would depend on how close she got to that range. Well she looked about the recliners and said she could get me one for $350 tax incl, and she was really giving me a bargain because the chair would normally sell for over $900, but since they only had one more chair in that model she could cut the price. I asked if it were a new chair or floor model. she said the chair I was getting was BRAND NEW, but was over at their Avondale location, and they would have it brought over the next day. Not trusting that I would receive my merchandise as promised, I told her I was going over to the Avondale location to pick it up. She seemed surprised, but said she would let them know I was on my way. When I arrived at the Avondale store, they were indeed expecting me. The lady at the customer service counter expressed that I was indeed getting a NEW CHAIR ( I had not mentioned anything about the newness of the chair to her). When I pulled around to get it, I realized what I was receiving was the floor model from the Avondale store, which had been wrapped in plastic, and taped to make it appear like new. When I questioned why the chair was already set up, they continued to assure me the chair was in fact new. Every new recliner I have ever purchased, is in a box in two parts- if it's a detachable recliner, each piece wrapped in plastic, along with some type of paper or card with the company name. This recliner came with nothing. When I got home and unwrapped the chair I noticed small stains just above the foot rest. Having dealt with bad business practices before, I decided not to deal with the store, but the corporate office. When I logged in to e-mail the corporate office, I saw many complaints about Emily's Furniture and all the help the corporate office DID NOT PROVIDE, I decided not to put myself through the headache, and keep my $350 used, floor-model chair. But I will definitely warn others through sites like this one, and by word of mouth. DO NOT SHOP AT EMIILY' S FURNITURE !!!!

We were told by Aine that the delivery was included in the price, then when it was to be delivered we were told the delivery was COD. I called Vicky, the assistant manager and she gave me the speech about how delivery is never included. We were told it would be delivered the Saturday after we purchased the product, but of course, the piece was not in, then we were told it would be delivered the following Wednesday, but the delivery company doesn't deliver on Wednesday evenings and now not only did we have to wait for our product, but we have to pay for delivery. When I asked her to keep the piece and give me my money back, Vicky was going to charge a 30% re-stocking fee. Don't ever buy from them, they lie, cheat and steal!

We purchased two chairs along with the Stain Safe warranty in April of 2007.We filed a claim and received a response from Stain Safe on Dec. 3, 2007 that the parts would be delivered in 8 to 12 weeks. My wife began calling the middle of March to find out what was happening with our chair. She called every week since and was told that it wasn't the store it was Stain Safe, or it was being handled by the main office. When she called the main office, they were waiting on the warehouse, or they were waiting on the store to ok it. At any rate I finally got involved June 13 and they started the same thing with me. I told them never mind just give me my $149.99 back that we paid for this so called Stain safe warranty. Again more run around. Finally I was told that the owner would call me on Sat. June 14, 2008, that they wanted me to explain to him what was happening. He Didn't call. Instead some lady calls and wants to pick up my chair. They conveniently had the part (fabric) All of a sudden after seven months of run around. I told them we had passed that point,and that I did not want any more to do with them.Just give me back my money.Today June 16, 2008 the owner finally calls and in short says I will not get my money back because I have used the service already. I say no I have only attempted to use the service unsuccessfully.In my opinion this company is only interested in making the sale and not taking care of the customer unless they are pushed to do so. From the day we bought the chairs to today they have mishandled everything.Bottom line buyer beware when you deal with these people.

Our first negative experience came to be that the price they initially quoted the bed for was incorrect, so they had tried charging me a higher price for than what they had initially quoted me. When I discovered this, I immediately cancelled the order and purchased a bed that was less, and had it delivered. Well, they ended up delivering the wrong bed to our home -- the original bed for the order I cancelled! We called them up to inform them of this, and they came to pick up the bed, then told us that we would have the physically come PICK UP the correct bed, after they had already charged us $60 for shipping and delivered the wrong bed! This place is INCREDIBLY shady. DO NOT buy furniture from them.

We ordered a couch and loveseat from Emily's about a month ago, was told it would be here in two weeks. Well, we haven't gotten our furniture yet and just called a few minutes ago and STILL nobody knows what's going on with our stuff.
All they can say is "We still haven't gotten it yet, don't know why". No apologies, no nothing.
It's honestly a very nice store and the employees were extremely friendly and helpful when we were in there, but since then, the service hasn't been there, and neither was the promise that if we ordered one of the "popular selling colors", we'd get it in less time. Their less time is not less and not what they promised. So until then, we'll continue to sit on the floor.
