Elk Grove Banfield overdosed my dog on its meds!!! Bad practice! My miniature Chihuahua was too small to receive meds without benydryl, so they wanted to keep her for the day so they could monitor her in case she needed a second dose, well apparently when they gave the second dose they missed the decimal point and overdosed her sending her into a seizure and extreme over excitability for several hours to come. They then had me rush her to an emergency pet hospital where they gave her an IV and flushed her system. She had to be monitored overnight and was extremely traumatized, not to mention my children! All this for a routine vaccination!
At first I wasn't too furious, mistakes happen, until the manger refused to return my calls and failed to to follow thru with crediting my account for the charges for the visit like he said he would. I have tried the appropriate steps for follow up with no response from the manager!
Opened a claim with the advocate team and its been three weeks with no response! This is all documented that it was 100% their neglegence! The manager won't call me corporate won't give me the number to the regional manager and the advocate team apparentl only emails the manager! They have no one to answer to it appears! What a way to hide behind a large corporate identity! They have great plans but lousy customer service!!!!!!

The advocate team is a joke! That's all they ever say is call the advocate team, then they say they will escalate it?!! The only one following up thus far has been me and my local office hear in Beaverton, Or. I went to the California office because I was there on business and my new pet had worms and was in need of vaccines before we arrived back home. The Banfield office here in Beaverton, Or has been great with handling my pet and helping try to get a response, but to no avail! I am seriously considering demanding a complete void of my contract and going to a real Vet! I like my local office, but I am so furious with the whole run around from corporate and client advocacy! The corporate identity is a joke with no real procedure for accountability!

I agree that the Staff at Banfield seems to care very little about the overall well-being of pets. They're a business and only there to make money. It's sad, but true. They behave like they can't be bothered, and it isn't surprising in the least that they walked right by a moaning dog without even a glance. We won't be taking our dogs there anymore.

I just want to express my disappointment about their location in Elk Grove, California. We move to Elk Grove from Fremont. Our dogs used to be on Optimum Wellness Plan in Fremont until we moved in July. Because of the hectic schedule between two moves, we were not able to renew our Plan immediately. Fortunately, our pet has been okay since then. We were intending to renew their membership when the time permits. Then just Saturday we were faced with one of our dogs having an anxiety attack of some sort. He was clearly in pain. We figured this situation needed a vet??s attention so we decided this is the time to renew the plan and take him to Banfield. We arrived at that Banfield at 4:30. We were told that it would be a while before the doctor sees us and we said it was fine. My Pet started to have another panic attack that he even hit his chin on the ground that he started bleeding. Nobody showed any concern even duting this incident. The receptionist took him inside to be looked at only to return after one minute to say he just bit his lip when his chin hit the ground. So I told him, okay, we will wait when the doctor is ready. They took our information and entered it into the system. The receptionist admitted us after 10 minutes of standing in the lobby in the midst of our dogs howling of pain. We were shown in to one of the rooms and we waited for another 10 minutes. Then the same person who showed us into the room entered and showed us a brochure of a Vet Clinic that he said it was just 4 miles down the road. He said that he shouldn??t have admitted us because there will so much wait. We had the feeling that everybody just wanted to go home and not even bother to see us. Did I mention that the whole time we were in the lobby before we were escorted to an exam room, that the Doctor was in and out of their front door and didn??t even give us an eye contact of concern when clearly our dog was in pain. She showed more of the frustration that she can??t hear herself talk to the other dog??s parent because our dog was howling so loudly because of pain. It was poor customer service and lack of practice of the motto that you clearly display in any of your materials, ??We're dedicated to giving every Pet we see exceptional, comprehensive and proven healthcare. Because your Pet means the world to you, their wellness means the same to us.?

We ended up leaving in dismay and the visit to the Vet clinic caused us $540.00 when it could have been paid to their Wellness plan and cost us less for any future visit of our dog. The Vet emergency clinic that he also told us about was 10 miles away and not just 4 miles. This is a perfect example of a company that doesn??t stand by what they say in their marketing strategies and it??s all about convenience on their employee??s part. We are very disappointed with Banfield and I hope that nobody gets subjected to this kind of treatment. I will surely post this complain to all website and forums so that people will be aware of the treatment that was given to us.

My dog ended up at this pet hospital by accident. She was being groomed at the groomer in the store when the groomer injured her toe. Since it was their fault, they sent her over to their pet hospital, which was Banfield. My dog was well cared for but the staff wasn't very friendly and on the return vist, they claimed that my dog needed some unnecessary treatment which ended up costing me a lot of money. I got the feeling from this pet hospital that they were out to get my money and not looking out for the best interest of my pet.
