I live in the area and LOVE to eat at Street. It can be expensive at times but well worth it. The place doesn't take reservation so make sure to get there early.

Street is great! Located in Russian Hill the drinks are wonderful and the food is to die for. We came in for the fried chicken, it was as good as our friends said. I've also had their seared Ahi which was good too.

Street is a nice blend of upscale cafe and bistro bar. It's a smallish space, with good lighting and a medium noise level.

The food was REALLY good. From what I remember, it's a fairly eclectic mix of California and European cuisine. It's the type of place where you might have trouble deciding between a PBR pint and a martini ... the burger or the rare ahi (I split both, and was not disappointed).

If you're not sure what direction you want to take your dinner, go to Street and see where you end up.

PROS: Stylish, good value
CONS: Could be too cozy for some

I've lived in SF for 1 month and have already been here 3 times. Each time at least 50% of the en tree's have changed (they have a highly seasonal menu-perhaps to keep the chef/owner motivated) While this would usually bum me out, everything I have tried I LOVE! They call it California/French cuisine

They also have a great Martini menu, the apricotini is delicious... For something more original and spicy try the "Wild thing" martini.

Right in the Middle of adorable Russian Hill, this small place (seats only about 30) has managed to be create my ideal restaurant vibe: intimate and stylish, will remaining casual.

Entrees run between $12-$20

PROS: ambiance, service, seasonal menu
CONS: small, hard to get a table
