Hands on learning.

by T B. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 434

Unlike other univsersities, you are allowed to have your own opinion at UNLV. I have just finished my Masters and every profressor that I have had has been extremely supportive. The graduate classes work around tradtional working schedules so that I could take classes at nights and on weekends. The only problem I have had is that the daycare does not meet the needs to the students on campus. I think that as long as a class is scheduled, the daycare should be opened for students to have their children enrolled into. I had to hire a sitter for the summer semester.

PROS: Many majors, Many degrees.
CONS: Daycare hours did not match my class schedule.

The best in Hotel Major

by Kristina M. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,301

I'm earning my bachelor from this University. This school is the best, you get the lectures and working experience at the same time. The professors were mostly great! The classes are not too big. Please don't stay at the dorm, because it's much more expensive than renting an apartment nearby.

A Little Confused

by M J. | insider Insider | Rank: 17,640

I wanted to attend UNLV for the Fall of 2005, but I missed the deadline. I am also a transfer student. I was amazed at how I could walk up to a window and be redirected to an office to "speak" to someone. (I thought I had to make an appointment, but the man at the window said there was no need). I was face-to-face with a consultant in a matter of minutes. They even tried to go out of their way to find out more information about tuition waivers. I was aware of the waiver, but the man that I spoke to was not. At the end, I received an application packet in a nice UNLV folder.
