Being at this part of the Strip it was a bit less hectic than staying further down the Strip. Tried a few of the restaurants at the hotel and food was fine. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

We booked our hotel stay at the Westward Ho prior to their closing and were switched over to the Riveria Hotel. That was the best move we could have made. The Riveria was fantastic. They treated us extremely well and it felt very comfortable there. The casino area was extremely well layed out and as I said we felt very comfortable there. We wish to thank the Riveria for a very nice time.

I cannot rave or say enough good things about the service and the staff. They were friendly, helpful and attentive. The gaming tables and dealers were the best bar none. The dealers were entertaining and advised some good strategies for an amateur like myself (not to mention patient!) If I were to lose my money anywhere, the demeanor and characters of the dealers at the Riviera make losing much more tolerable. You can??t even get the dealers at some of the higher end places to even acknowledge you, never mind any pleasantries! I enjoyed playing the tables at the Riviera so much that I won??t even waste my time at the other places.

Just returned from 2 nights at the Riviera Hotel celebrating a birthday on a budget! Booked a special through US Airways from Atlanta. $5.00 shuttle to hotel. Best drinks while gambling at the Belagio Hotel. Best food & service at Kady's Cafe at Riviera Hotel. Best roulette for $5.00 minimum and won was Riviera Hotel. Best slots & shots at Hard Rock Hotel/ Pink Taco. Don??t miss "Thunder from Down Under" at the Excalibur Hotel. Very fun & tastefully hot Australian dancers. After the show, you can have your picture taken with them & have fun buying at their shop. Vegas is very spread out. Take comfortable shoes. Taxi was about $12.00 no matter where we went. We mostly walked everywhere. Bus was $1.25/ 2.00 but crowded. Each hotel has something fun to see & do. We loved them ALL! Riviera Hotel was perfect: clean & comfortable, friendly, Strip view, and affordable. There??s so much more to see & do, we have to go back!

To me Vegas is about the experience and some of the theme/large hotel all become indistinguishable and the bottom line is about the quick buck. The Riviera had character and it did not feel like we were just a number.

Overall, I can't think of anything bad to say about this hotel. If you are looking for luxurious accomodations, look elsewhere. But for the average guy that just wants a fun hotel In Las Vegas with a nice casino, good beds, and an awesome restaurant, I would highly recommend the Riviera.

This Riviera Casino Hotels accommodations and service is above average and the best value for the money. The location is preferable because it is located on strip but not smack in the heart of the strip so your not overwhelmed with hordes of crowds and traffic.

what a delightful surprise when someone from your hotel delivered fresh strawberries, white and dark chocolate and champaign as a welcome to me from the media syndication ON THE HOUSE. Since you worked so closely to my beloved co-worker, I shared some with her! i love the staff at the rivera and the quiet atmosphere, even in the casino. we are enjoying your hotel.

Check in and check out were both quick. Probably the best dining experience that we had was in the in-hotel restaurant: Kristofer's Steak House. The penny slots were great for spending a decent amount of time playing without spending a lot of money. The payouts were some of the best on the strip

I felt that I had to counteract some of the less positive reviews on this website. First, let me tell you some of the things you should know about the Riviera before you book your stay (I knew these going in, so I wasn't disappointed):

1) The Riviera is on the north Las Vegas strip. What this means is that you're a 10-minute bus ride to the south (newer) end of the strip.
2) The Riviera is one of the older hotels on the strip.

Knowing these two things before you get to the hotel are very important before booking your stay at the Riviera. You will NOT be in the middle of the action like you had stayed at Caesar's Palace, nor will you experience the extravagence of a newer resort hotel like the Bellagio, but neither of those are necessarily a bad thing. The cost is right on for what you get and, if you plan on gambling, the Riviera has some of the lowest table minimums that you will find on the strip.

had a room in the Mediterranean Tower across from Poker room on the 9th floor. Sure its an older smaller place, but I find its well kept and easy to negotiate . My room had a King bed with small 20" TV, table and chairs. It was all in very good condition and clean. The bathroom was small but good water pressure and very clean. The room had a safe and small fridge. Casino was not too busy but a good place to play low-key poker. Pool was warm. They have an ABC store in the hotel that sells beer and stuff. Good Thai restaurant and food court beside the obvious buffet and steak house. I rent a car so the location was not a problem and parking is easy. Staying here is not a concern when I visit Vegas. VINTAGE VEGAS!

We went to the Riviera to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We've been going there for years and have always stayed and played at the Riv. This was our second trip to the Riviera this year. From 7/24 thru 7/29 we had a wonderful time! Didn't go anywhere but there. Everyone was exceptional, especially our Host, Jim. He was at our every beck and call (if needed) - he made reservations at Kristopher's Steak House for our anniversary day (25th) and everything was absolutely wonderful. Although the machines didn't like my husband and I very much we still enjoyed our 4 days at the Riv.

We're planning our next trip for the Superbowl Party in February (fingers crossed) but will definitely be going in early June to celebrate my birthday and my best friends wedding anniversary who stayed at the Riv for that! Yeah!!

We just love this older Hotel & Casino due to its history. I pray it stays and doesn't get caught up in all the conglomerates throughout Las Vegas.

The Monte Carlo Tower is where we always stay in the Riviera. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious and super clean (thank you to the cleaning gals).

Hope my review has helped you....and I look foward to seeing you all at the Riviera!

This property has received a great deal of negative publicity.
I don't understand why.

Yes the RIveria's overall appearance pales in comparison to properties like the Venetian, Wynn and Paris. Yes, the location on the northern end of the strip places this property away from the higher concentration of properites on the southern end. where entertainment options are far more plentiful. Yes, the buffet is lousy and overpriced .

Many write that the staff is unfriendly and uncooperative. My response to that is as follows: If you immediately take and maintain a hostile posture to a situation that you feel is a mistake made by the property, it matters not what they attempt to do to correct the problem, you will always see these individuals in a negative and harsh light..

That being said, I found everyone I encountered and spoke to , front desk personnel , a front desk shift manager, housekeeping, the associate who stood outside the front desk serving as a "greeter," observing personnel who had completed their shift, but still in uniform ,continuing to assist the hotel guests who approached them with questions who were , attentive who gave a damn You just have to make start that first encounter with a friendly hello. Amazing the dividends it can repay to you.

My reservation called for one room with a king bed and two rooms with 2 double beds .Upon arrival the hotel had set
aside 2 rooms with king beds and 1 room with a double bed. SURPRISE, the front desk clerk APOLOGIZED and immediately corrected this discrepency with absolutely no delay.

Our rooms in the recently renovated South Tower, were clean, bathroom supplies plentiful, sufficient hot water for showers adequate water pressure (remember water is such a precious commodity in Vegas) working television, thermostat in the rooms that allow the guest to set the temperature to their personal liking, rooms cleaned in a timely matter.

If you want to look out your hotel window to see something that offers some "special view" of the STRIP or downtown, or if some "high" threadcount number of the pillow and bedding is important or perhaps that complementary "fishwrap" or coffee and danish is provided as room service anexercise room with the latest state of the art equipment so one can work out to offset the negative effects of the prior evening's excessive eating and drinking, then the Riveria is not the place to stay. Otherwise for what the Riveria charges it's guest for a night's stay, and what one gets in exchange for that consideration, this property is one of the BEST OVERALL VALUES ON THE STRIP, AND THE STAFF IS ATTENTIVE AND FRIENDLY. JUST RETURN SAID CONSIDERATION !!!!

The staff and management were great! We were registered early and without incident. The rooms had been recently remodeled and we found them to be neat, clean and very, very appealing. We ate most of our meals at most of their restauraunts and we found them to also have a great staff and excellent food. The cocktail waitresses were always available and pleasant in the gaming area and the entertainer singer "Mark" also added a pleasant and enjoyable experience in and around the slots. We also enjoyed the Commedy Club and the La Cage show at the Riviera. I have been to La Cage twice and wife wife has enjoyed it 3 times. We can't say enough good things about te Riviera! We were humbled by their hospitality and thoroughly impressed with the accomodations. I highly recommend the Riviera for its accomadations, staff and location. Thank you Riviera!

I had an absolutely abhorring experience here, this "hotel" is scary dangerous and unsafe! I was continually harassed catcalled with degrading remarks BY HOTEL EMPLOYEES! I filed a report with "security" who was untrustworthy and physically pushed me around. Please be safe and don't stay here! Some of my belongings are missing and they have been so far unsuccessful. I have not been refunded for the unused portion of my stay and surprise surprise they're being completely uncooperative. STAY AWAY!!

The review below seems to be about the Rio - not the Riviera. The Riviera is on the strip, just the older part.

I just got back from Vegas and have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the accommodations. We were placed in one of the towers that had recently been renovated but the furniture and flat screen were definitely something I would expect at a place that was much newer. They also had great brand name bathroom amenities.

The service was excellent and I like that the casino tables were still not too expensive. It's also right across the street from Circus Circus and Slots of Fun which are two of my favorite places to play.

I've been to Las Vegas several times & have stayed at Monte Carlo, Caesar's, Lady Luck, & Luxor. The Riviera was the worst starting w/check in services & people to the time we checked out. I hope it gets blown away! The people were so unhelpful when we checked in w/my parents on their first visit to Vegas. I was actually told by the hotel clerk to check in w/someone else because it was 10min til she was off duty. I suggested she hurry then to check us in. Although we asked for non-smoking rooms they were already given away. We had to stay one nite in a smoking room then the next day we had to move. Very inconvenient. I feel the total layout of this hotel/casino is just awful. The restaurants avail on site were bad too, the main cafe was usually too crowded to stay & their snack bar was usually closed whenever we tried to get a hotdog. Roomservice was a 2hr wait. We tried their lunch buffet, the quality of the food reminded me of National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation scene where the beef is blue and chicken green. Just terrible. No one here is interested in your accomodations. Only to register you in their loser clubs. I never recommend this hotel to anyone! Again, I hope it gets blown away, terrible rooms, service & food!

On our first trip to Vegas, we stayed here and had a wonderful time. Located on the strip, the hotel is convenient to the night life in the town that never sleeps. Restaurant service was good and choices fit everyone's needs.
Casino paid well-I won on the 25 cent machines. A friend on the tables. Would return here for another weekend.

When you see talk about Vegas you here about the Riviera. I would go to it to say that you have been. It is a nice place. There are newer places on the strip but if you want a little history drop by and check it out.

We stayed @ the Riviera for a weekend and we had a great time. The beds were OH-SO-COMFY after a 7 hour trip and they did everything they could to accomodate us after a very late arrival. The casino was cheaper than the other fancier ones along the strip and the drinks were decently priced. The only con I can find to this place is that it's a bit confusing to get from the parking structure to the hotel registration, but everything else was great.

So it isn't as fancy as the other end of the Strip, certainly, it is a bit older, both in clientele and environment, but we had fun sitting there playing blackjack. Most of the dealers were friendly, they had some entertainment going on right there in the casino. And yes, it was a little bit cheaper to play than at other places on the Strip.

I think the best part about this hotel is that it is cheap. The service here wasnt very good and many of the staff were actually kind of rude. Dont go here if you are expecting luxury, this hotel is very basic. The room was nothing special. The hotel is pretty old and I found it somewhat worn.

The Rivera is on the older end of the Las vegas strip. This is one of the last hotels that have not renovated their interior. Even though it is older, it is still very quaint and enjoyable. They have a nice area in the front that you can spin a free slot pull and try to win something. Each pull is guaranteed something even if it is a mug or a deck of cards. We stopped by here once a day to pull the machine. Try your luck if you are down there and stop in at least to get your free pull.

The best seafood buffet in Las Vegas. Includes all you can eat lobster. Large Nickel Town slots (more than you'd expect in an upscale resort) for after-dinner fun. It's the hotel with the wall of lights as you drive by on the Strip.
This place is great for catching up on a little R&R poolside or on your gambling skills in the casino. All the service we recieved was great.
We ate at the Italian Eatery at the Riviera before the show and I can only say wonderful and delightful things about it! The gentlemen who served us were funny and to top it off, they served us free dessert! NOW that is what I call great service!

My wife and I were married at the Riviera Royale Wedding Chapel inside the Riviera hotel in 2004 and I have to say, it was wonderful. The chapel decor is very pretty, just what you would pictured from the website, no surprises. Very clean and very classy. The ceremony had many personal touches and my wife was very happy with her flowers. Overall I would say if you are looking for a nice aforadable hotel chapel, this is the one for you. I do not think you will be disappointed.

These rooms are horrible and stink. The hotel needs to be updated, the staff needs alot of work and the convention space looks like it is from the 70's.

We spent two weeks at The Riv over Christmas time. Other than a long trek to our room it was very pleasant. Maid service was great, and the room appeared always fresh. View was over The Strip, which was great. The Comedy Club was very funny and interactive. Management staff very helpful. December is very inexpensive accomodations.

PROS: Nice food court and arcade games.
CONS: Can be a long walk to your room

We stay at the RIV at least once a year. For the money (join the slot club), you cannot do better. Not the fanciest, but it's as nice as the best Holiday Inn you ever stayed in and the staff are mostly the best, if not the youngest!!!!
Tackey shows and an OK, new buffet.
We stay & play........usually go elsewhere for shows (except headliners).

Cons: Location to "action", So-So buffet

Our Bachelorette party didn't stay at the Riviera, but thought it would be fun to watch Men, the Show. I've been to the other male reviews (i.e. Chippendales and Thunder From Down Under) from previous visits to Sin City, but this show by far beats them all! I suggest getting the VIP seats to have the opportunity to get up close and personal if ya know what I mean! Devon and Rico were our party's faves! :) And the bonus, they take pictures and do signings at the end of the show! SO it is well worth what you spend!

I FOUND THE RIVIERA TO BE A GOOD VALUE AND TO HAVE THE RESOURCES TO ACCOMODATE LARGE CONVENTIONS/MEETINGS. THE CASINO WAS FUN, RESTAURANTS AND SHOWS ALL WORTH CATCHING. ROOMS WERE SLIGHTLY OUTDATED, BUT THE OVERALL SERVICE MADE UP FOR IT. I COULD SEE VISITING THEM AGAIN, AND FOR THE MOST PART I FOUND MY ENTIRE STAY VERY ENJOYABLE. THE CONVENTION WAS A SUCCESS TOO!

This place is great for catching up on a little R&R poolside or on your gambling skills in the casino. All the service we recieved was great. So I sent my parents there for a mini vacation, and they also enjoyed the service and quality of this hotel/casino.
