Stayed here in the spring of 2010. Big fan of the WSOP, so I had to see it! The rooms are nice (at least on 26th floor, the upgrade was worth it). I read the review of wall sized window and shower window. These were things we actually liked! Great views of the strip from here! It's "off" the strip, but only like a 3 minute walk across the bridge. It's really not that far, we walked right to Caesers (about 2 blocks) from the Rio and were right back on the strip. Rooms and Staff were great. My only warning is bring about $150 for small things. They nickel and dime you in Vegas. To watch a TV program in your room it's like $4.95, if you need to have something washed it's about $5-6 per article of clothing, etc. Keep that in mind.

While I was out in Vegas we stayed at the Rio and have to say the casino had a great atmosphere! Perfect place to visit if you like to Salza and drink.

This hotel disappointed me. It's out dated!!! We had comped rooms which I appreciated because I would not have been impressed if I had to pay for them. Yes, the room was large but it reminded us of a cheap Travelodge with the crazy fabric patterns on the bed, the canopy and wall size window. We couldn't figure out why they have a window from the shower into the bed area. Every night I was woken up with lights shining in my eyes when he got up, turned on the light to use the bathroom.... in the bathroom! I had a fabulous meal at the Voodoo Restaurant and the view is beautiful. We then checked out the Voodoo Lounge. I was surprised how small it was. The main area is outside on the roof top but it was cold as it was February. Bottle service, for about $300 is definitely the focus in order for you to get a table. We danced a little but left as we had to place to sit and the only heaters outside were set up for people who had bottle service outside. I liked the vibe at Voodoo Lounge and will check it out again when it is warmer. I'd rather stay on the strip and be within walking distance to other venues. But thanks for the comped rooms Rio!!!!

I had to check the RIO out. It is a little off the main strip but you will not be disappointed. It has a great party atmosphere. The prices are high for the buffet but what isn't in Vegas. I would recommend trying it out.

I have been a diamond player at the Rio for two years and prefer the casino to any in Vegas. Their rooms are comfortable and always clean. Their staff treats you wonderfully and act eager to help. Getting to their highest level of player status is not difficult and I recommend using a card as you will be surprised at what it will bring you at all Harrahs properties. I love the Rio, it cannot be beat.

PROS: comp program, staff, entertainment, classy not trashy visitors, good food
CONS: I wish everyone could read this and know how great it is

The Rio might be passed by a lot of tourists enjoying the Strip hotel and casinos. You'll probably need a short taxi hop to this one since although it's not too far from Las Vegas Blvd, it's not easy or pleasant to reach. The casino theme is as expected - Latin American carnival spirit. A suspended gondola runs the perimeter of the main gambling hall that features side shows and dancing. The Rio's Seafood Buffet is possibly the best buffets in town, while not cheap (over $30 a head) is excellent value and features some of the best buffet food you will ever encounter!

It is not on the Las Vegas strip, but hey, take a break from the madness and stay in a suite at the Rio. So nice! New Orleans theme - casino and all. Wow! Penn & Teller were playing there with a good show when we went to visit. Shops alongside the casino floor. Really neat layout and great, clean, lively atmosphere.

While the hotel is located slighly off the main part of the strip, the accomodations are nice, and more affordable than some of the really nice hotels in Vegas. The rooms are really huge, and now that they've joined a partnership with Harrah's they are giving away a ton of promotions- so get a players card and start gamgling at Harrah's or the Rio, and you'll start getting tons of promotions in the mail like free rooms, buffets, and flights! And if you like crab legs, check out the sea food buffet- its expensive but you can load up your plate with crab lets, garlic butter, and mashed potato's! (they have tons of other sea food to choose from, but the crab legs are the best thing they have)!

I should admit that this hotel offers good shows. I enjoy watching their free show, the Masquerade Show in the Sky and I got the Rio necklaces made from Beads. Other show I recommend is Penn & Teller. They're hilarious and entertaining. They have the best buffet in town as well.
