We tried Joes on our 1st trip (Sept 2009) to Hawaii. It was a nice sunny afternoon. We were in inside of the restaurant the place is filled with fries, and we had to fighting them off while eating, which is not an easy task to do. The food is not bad, I had the rock shrimp it??s pretty good. My daughter had the coconut shrimps it was okay; I have better coconut shrimps in the West Coast. My husband had the steak and was cold in the middle and we had to ask to re-cook it again. I wouldn??t go back again if you pay me. The fries were so annoying, unless you don??t mind sharing your food with all the fries inside the restaurant.

At the end of the main drag in Haleiwa you will find a nice place to eat. I was there for lunch and thought is was okay. I would like to try the dinner menu to see if it is better. The pricing was fine, not to expensive for Oahu. It is nice that it is a local place and not many tourist go. The decor is a little "Golden Girls" but the service was friendly and good. I liked the relaxed atmosphere. If you want a more up scaled restaurant, try the Kaneohe version.

You have to get a little off the beaten path to get to Haleiwa Joe's but it's worth the trip. The restaurant is fun - and not touristy trendy - the bar is good - the food is great. It's low key and relaxing - a great place to eat and hang - off the beaten path.

First stop in Oahu, Haleiwa, second stop, Haleiwa Joe's! Festive, fun, relaxed, this is a great spot to ignore the resorts of this island and enjoy the real Hawaiian vibe. I had the best thai salad here, even given the title "seafood grill." Those I dined with (and we dined here more than twice on one vacation) were drawn to the calamari night after night. Don't go here for a view, but do go for a meal, a drink, and a smile.

Not just a place for the tourists. Hale'iwa Joes has been a local favorite for the Kama'aina in Hawaii for many years.
The setting is unpretentious. With choice of outside lanai, complete with Tiki torches at night and harbor/ocean views, or inside for those of you that prefer air conditioning.
Seafood is the fare but many locals here the best thing is their Prime Rib, which usually sells out before the night is over.
Some on over here to soak up the flavor of the islands. You won't walk away disappointed.
