.

They have a FREE day on the first Saturday of the month. Parking is FREE.

I took my 2 year old and it was very crowded. I would recommend going if it is your first time on a free day since there is nothing to loose, but for a more relaxed time go on a weekday.

Things my 2 year old loved - Shadow box (I loved this too), trains (he loved pushing the buttons and seeing them go), the real and stuffed animals, and the bus.

We took lunch with us and had it at the park.

I love this place. But more importantly, my 2 year old loves this place. Lots of educational stuff to do...his favorites are the real bus, the bone exhibit currently running (this changes a couple times a year), the preschool room~filled with fun stuff to play with and the craft room, where they always have something fun to make and take home. We have the annual pass...if you plan on going often, look into this option, its worth the money. The only downside is it could be cleaned more frequently. With all the little hands there every day, the germs are a-flowing, I am sure.

Plus if you have the entertainment book there is a free admission coupon so that helps even more. All the rooms are great fun for kids, especially the little ones. I'd say it is really great for about the 2-5 year age group. Staff is friendly and out door areas are clean. Does get a little crowded on Sat/Sun. The stage room is so much fun and the little ones really enjoy the tree room. Thumbs up for a fun thing to do with the kids.

PROS: Friendly helpful staff, good price
CONS: Tends to get crowded on weekends

The La Habra Children's Museum is fun while educational. Tickets are $5 per person, with children under 2 are free. The museum features an outside area where children can imagine themselves in prehistoric times among the dinosaur garden. Inside, kids will find: an actual city bus to cimb in & explore. They might go for a ride in the small merry go round. (intended for toddlers) Or, dig for dinosaur bones in the red clay sand exhibit. They also have a whole room dedicated to a stage, with working mircophones for the show kids. The full backstage area houses an amazing waredrobe, and various musical instruments. My favorite room would be the toddler play area. It houses a giant tree and slide, plus endless seating and books to read. Lastly don't forget to visit the craft room, where the children make a different craft everyday.
The staff is a volunteer staff, so usually they are teenagers. They are friendly and helpful.
They also have a small gift shop, but it's easy avoidable if you have to.
One safety recommendation: keep an eye on your kids. The exit doors (numberous) do not have alarms on them. Plus, they are easy to open. So, it is not advise to let you children wander the museum unattended.

PROS: Educational, Inexpensive, creative.
CONS: Do not leave your children unattended;easy access to the exit doors.

This museum is housed in an old train depot, but offers much more than just train memorabilia. For only $5 per person (under 2 free), the museum offers a multitude of playful learning areas for children. For preschoolers, there is a special room with a "treehouse", pretend houseplay area, puppet booth, and more. One room is dedicated to theatre arts and allows kids a chance to pretend they're performing on a stage while others man a replica control room. There's a working small carousel, replica bus that kids can pretend to drive, a special effects room, play market, taxidermy room, and a miniature train display that my kids love to activate! I just wish the place were a little bigger because it gets crowded on the weekends.
