Finally, late night vegan-friendly pizza on capitol hill.

Open till 2:30 am during the week, open after 3am on weekends and it is right next to the Baltic Room, one of my favorite bars/venues. The place loudly advertises its vegan cheese option, which tastes pretty much like real cheese for the cheese-loving whiners who love vegan.
The pizza is great, gourmet style.......

He is a creep and needs to be reported to the BBB. His customer service was not good. He got the order wrong. After he got the order wrong he tried to give us a pizza that had been sitting there for about 30 mins that he had already been eating off of!! He talked about sex the whole time me and my partner were there. And how now days more women are using dildos. He talked about why men cheat and tight vaginas. But he used the "P" word. I will never set foot in that place again. The pizza was ok however...I was so raving mad and felt so disrespected after I went there I didn't even enjoy it.

My wife and I visited Juliano's in June on a 6,200 mile road trip from Michigan, with stops in Idaho, Seattle, Portland, and Denver along the way. My wife is vegan and was excited about the places in the northwest to find more plentiful vegan food options. Juliano's pizza was great since very few places in the midwest would offer something so far from meat and cheese.

Juliano's has vegan, vegetarian, and meat-etarian selections, so everyone should be happy eating there. We ate the "cheezy" bread with soy cheeze, which was fantastic. As a meat/cheese eater myself, I was very sceptical about how this would taste (usually vegan cheeze is, in my opinion, a disgusting mess). We were very impressed-- it was flavorful and cooked just right, with some crispiness but not overdone.

My wife had the vegan pizza with mushrooms, spinach, and artichokes while I had a traditional meat-stuffed calzone. Both were fantastic. The fake cheese does not "act" stringy and gooey like real cheese, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the taste and the texture on the mouth. The flavors were also great. Overall, the food was top-notch, whether you are judging it as a vegan or as a traditional artery-clogged sausage lover.

Call ahead and make sure Juliano is there at the posted hours first. When we went he opened about an hour after his posted opening time because he had stayed open until about 4 am the night before, serving pies to the local college kids on the hill. Bring some bucks, because this is not $5 hot-n-ready slop. It is worth it though. Don't expect fine china, but do expect great food.

In short: this is great food, vegan or meaty. Juliano is an authentic Italian owner of this hole-in-the-wall pizza joint. Take a photo with him if you are a tourist-- he'll jump in and throw on his Ray Bans. If you're from Seattle, go there for a different option than Pizza Pi Vegan Pizza. Check it out.

Great Pizza! Great ingredients. Not for the faint of heart, chicken Yuppie, that's for sure. The shop may not be much to look at, but he makes the best tasting pizza in town. BTW, the "grease" is olive oil. Better than that mystery grease you get at other pizza places. Fresh veggies, great spreads and home made sauce. I recommend!!!

The best pizza places are dirty, dark and dingy. Upon entering, you feel as though you've left the outside world and walked into a dumpster. A bare concrete floor stretches the length of the dimly lit space. Tables are non-existent, instead, rows of high-rise perches offer a flat space painted drastically to lay your crust on. The company is like you; strange, an off-the-wall crowd whose only vices exist between themselves. My legs dangle freely as I wait for the rustling wax paper to be brought out and set before me. The only barrier between myself and the kitchen is a wall of checkerboard slats that run the length of the stainless steel command post sitting behind it. The walls are sponged with strange colors, some orange, some yellow, some blue... Green aquifers cone up around the corners, and pink leads the way to the bathroom. I wait in Juliano's for my slice of pepperoni and... A Root Beer. An ice-cold, refreshing Root Beer to save me from the heat...of the city. Streets I've been a' walkin'; all day long and the coffee house on the corner wasn't going to suppress the appetite that had been growing inside. And Julinai's is the place to quench that thirst!

The pizza here is greasy and unappetizing. The place is dirty and infested by bugs. I have never experienced such a gross and unsanitized environment. This is not vegan, it is disgusting.
