Monopoly on the business

They have a monopoly on the Los Angeles area cable business, which allows them to charge their outrageous prices that you'll pay if you want tv. The digital tv is a good service, and they do have good introductory deals where they will throw in a good 3 months free HBO and Showtime, and whatnot depending on the deal when you sign up. They'll try to get you to upgrade everything, so beware of that. My roommate signed for our installation and we ended up with digital instead of regular like I had ordered.

Good Digital Cable Service

We were getting really bad TV reception where we lived, near downtown LA, so we finally broke down and ordered Comcast. Their phone representative was very patient and pleasant to talk to, and she got us basic Digital Cable plus a my husband's custom channel request, the Speed Channel, for $5 extra. The cable man came on a Sunday morning (bless his heart for working at that time)! and we haven't had any problems since. The cable is a luxury, however, so if you are trying to save money, be aware that after taxes, etc., your bill goes up.

I apologize for the phone number, it is actually 1800-COMCAST, but the web site would not let me put in an 800 number.
