Lot's of good things coming out Loews Dupont; excellent, lesser-known movies shown regularly. Prices are what you'd expect, and they're not friendly to student IDs unless you're ready to haggle a bit. The other downside is that the theatre is quite small, often gets sold out, and you almost always find yourself fighting for armrest room.

As far as theaters in the DC area go, the Loews at Dupont Circle is pretty old and small. They have 5 cozy screens and usually run older movies... the kind htat have already been out for a few weeks, but not yet made it to the rental store shelves.

They lean towards the Independant and niche type of film, such as "Hotel Rowanda" and "Deep Blue."

The theaters are small yet comfortable, if a little worn out. I adore the staff here. They are always quick to engage in conversation if you wish, and very informed on the movies they run.

If you're looking for a foreign film or Independant release, this is where you are likely to find it.

PROS: Small, intimate
CONS: No first-runs
