Ranked at number 14 among the nation's 490 baccalaureate nursing programs, UAB's School of Nursing is one of the best nursing schools in the nation. The school of nursing and it's faculty provides its students with the best education available. Each semester you are assigned a new clinical instructor that mentors you, helps you with problem areas, and is available to you during your most stressful nursing school moments. The program is 5 semesters long, with two years of core curriculum courses (pre-nursing) before being accepted into the nursing school. In the end you will graduate with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (B.S.N). The curriculum is challenging, the labs are fun, and the clinicals are empowering. In addition, graduates can enter UAB's school of nursing's master's program that was ranked 21st in the nation. Also, the school is the only one in Alabama offering a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in nursing.
PROS: Early hands on clinical experience, Ph.D. and M.S.N programs
CONS: If you can really consider this a bad thing, extremely challenging.
