Shopping Dizzy

by Anonymous

I visited the Ally. Wow! Lots of shops to chose from. However, pretty much alot of the same items at each shop. Bargain shop. Oh yeah, some of the shops are operated be the same retailers. If they ask 5 -you offer 3. Shop around. Cheap depends on the saleperson's mood

Awesome!

by Anonymous

I cannot think of a better place to shop for name brand and/or other products. The prices are unreal; compared to mall shopping, etc., and the choices are many. I do most of my gift shopping in the L.A. Garment District. I have friends and relatives who come from out-of-state, at least once a year, to shop for gifts and for themselves. Thank goodness for the L.A. Garment District. It is AWESOME! but so is L.A.

Good luck with parking

by Edwin D. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,636

Finding parking is a such a hassle here especially if you need to walk around the stores and need to get around. I prefer Chinatown as we got this comforter with 7 pieces for $25!!!! A bargain. As for women's clothing, just haggle then buy and you will get what you need. Beware of the toy area as your kids will be forced to play with their toys even if your kids isn't interested in them.

Reminds me of home

by Tee T. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,630

I am from the East Coast and loved to shop in NYC. This place reminds me of that. Not only are there retail stores, but you can pick up flowers, fabrics, etc. They also have many art events and trade shows (you have to be in the business, however).

PROS:
CONS: Don't go on Sundays

Get your deals..

by Alma M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 9,925

and definelty be ready to haggle.. its a fun experience to have. Some of the stuff is really cheap and know that the stuff here is not authentic. Lots of knock-off purses and higher priced stuff.. so please don't think that you are getting a great deal. If you think its too good to be true, here- it probaby is..

Garment District

by Kaitlin S. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 9,789

I love to shop at the fashion district or also known asthe garment district. I have found so many great deals on clothes here and there are so many places to shop from. There are a lot of walking though and going into alleys to get the best deals but it is all well worth the trouble.

cheap prices

by Gulnara R. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,699

You can find here anything from clothes to accesories.
Prices are cheap, but you have to shop around to find the best deal. Quality is not so good, but if you need something particular and you don't care about quality that much, check it out.

Bargain shopping

by Melissa T. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,445

The Fashion District also includes the Fabric and Jewelry Districts. I like coming down here when I'm looking for a particular kind of fabric. There are literally hundreds of stores here, and thousands of fabrics to choose from. Prices are cheap, and the store owners are usually pretty happy to strike a good deal with you. A friend and I went to the Fashion District recently to look for some costume and props pieces. It took us about 2-3 hours to find what we wanted because we were bargaining for the lowest price at each store. So don't be in a hurry to buy whatever you want at the first store you come across, take some time and pop into a few more to compare prices. You might be surprised at how low of a price you can get.

Side note: print out the Fashion District map off the website and bring it with you. This place is huge, the stores are all over, so if you have a map and the store directory, you'd save a lot of time.
