Landmark is the place for great indie films that are not shown in the mainstream theaters. they also offer the opportunity for film foundations to show movies too. Last year, the san diego asian film foundation screened a free screening of mongol. the location is great and the ambiance is pleasing too.

Sick and tired of mainstream movies? Rather not go to AMC theaters in La Jolla? Try Landmark Theaters located next to TGI Friday's and behind BJ's Restaurant. I saw No Country for Old Men here, and was pleased with ticket service and no complaints about cleanliness of the theater. It's a great place for independent films that either haven't been wide released or are still making their rounds. They also have great a great throw back movie series usually during Spring, with such greats as Tron and Indiana Jones (I-III). So beat the lines at major movie theaters and catch a flick at Landmark when you get the chance

The Landmark in La Jolla plays a good selection of independent films and films not played in mainstream theaters like AMC or Edwards. The theater is really clean and new looking, unlike its counterparts in Hillcrest and Kensington. The staff is really friendly, the manager is also very accomodating. Also, for any reason you can rent out the theater for a night if you desire. They also often have midnight showings Saturday nights of cult films or classics.

The theater itself isn't all that nice. It's kind of small, and not very crowded. The seats aren' t very comfortable either. But if you're interested in seeing independent or artsy films, this is the place to go. Ticket prices are cheaper than regular movie theaters, so you'll save a few bucks. There's lots of parking in the complex, which is a plus. Overall the films shown here are the reason it's worth going to this place.
