Argosy University, San Francisco is in it for the $$$

by F R.

Too expensive for unprofessionalism in staff. Financial aide does give you the run around. Classes are jam packed with work and not worth it considering it's so much work, that you forget half the stuff, the $ you pay is ridiculous, and it's controlled by a corporation, not individual schools. The new online classes are not what this school is supposed to be about, "The human side of success." NOT! Try taking interpersonal effectiveness purely online! I know they are trying to compete with other online schools, but considering this school is supposed to specialize in psychology, I think they need to reconsider their class format. After my financial aid year is over...I'm done. Cheaper and more thourough to go to a CC, get your gen ed, then transfer to a real University.

Not what its craked up to be-Argosy University, San Francisco is

by j. m.

I am a current student at Argosy and I cant wait to leave. The school "woos" you in telling you that you will have a good experience- but its a lie. The majority of the conflict comes from financial aide. The department is discriminatory, inconsiderate, and not helpful- they give you the run around when you have a problem. For example, I receive financial aide, and have a student loan. The loan amount available will cover my full tuition per quarter. Its argosy's responsibility to take out the cost of the tuition. However, what they've done is take out less than the tuition amount and have now stuck me with a bill. Mind you I have talked in person with 2 individuals in the financial aide department prior to receive a bill. Secondly, they have now transitioned the schools undergrad program to on line classes, in which the student meets on campus once a week; How is this learning. The school is just not what its cracked up to be. I would not recommend this school to a friend or family member. Read the goal statement of the school, what they say they can give you, they do not.

argosy university online (Pittsburgh, PA 15222-4332)

by Anonymous

At first I thought this was the perfect school with all the nice "come on" etc. I wanted to get a Masters online because I am over 60 years old, own two businesses and am retired. I can work from home at my own pace. These people started to demand explanations as to why I wanted to delay enrolling and harrassed me repeatedly about sending money by using my credit card. It would take too long for my personal check to get there, they said. This was before my transcripts had arrived there from other universities I have attended. Something is wrong here. Rude and demanding people. Greedy. I have never seen the like. If you can shed some light on this behavior or school, please do. Are they legitimate?

Argosy University - not professional

by Dawn R.

At first glance, this school appears to be a convenient way to get that degree while keeping your day job. Unfortunately, my classmates and I consistently meet with unprofessional behavior from employees of this school.

From requiring homophobic readings without any qualifying remarks, to losing transcripts, teachers who communicate inappropriately and rudely without recourse, advisors who don't answer questions until the third request 3 weeks later, to sketchy admission procedures ... this school makes me want to finish my degree ASAP before they lose their accreditation.

If I were actually paying for their inflated tuition, I would have left long ago for a more professional institution

PROS: quick degree
CONS: unprofessional, sketchy procedures, non-responsive support staff
