This great jewelry store in Adams Morgan is a place to find unique and rare items. My girlfriend has an eye for one of kind items. I was recommended this place by a coworker and now use on a regular basis it when Im in a bind for a creative gift. This store specializes mainly in jewelry but also has other unique trinkets. The prices for everything is very reasonable and the staff is helpful.

PROS: Variety of items
CONS: Nothing

One of my favorite places to go ogle very cool & unique jewelry is Anita's Treasures over on 18th in Adams Morgan. I feel like a kid in a candy store and my Visa all but jumps out of my wallet the minute I walk in the door.

Citrine, and Peridot, and Marcasite... Oh My! This is a kicky-fun kinda shop with jewelry displayed in cases and curios everywhere. The maracasite ring with citrine inset I just came away with was only $17. It's goregous, and that was a deal.

While jewelry is the main thing, that isn't all they have. I also walked away with a 3 pc set in violet satin with an Oriental design consisating of a make up case, lipstick case, and fabric-covered hand mirror. Cost? A mere $14 for all three.

Dare I say what else I couldn't resist on this outing? Ok, you twisted my arm. Two very cool wood-carved pens imported from South America. $2.99 each. I couldn't believe it! These are really awesome. I've never seen anything like them.

Add to the great finds the fact that the gentleman who always helps me is genuinely glad to see me, and not just because he knows I'll buy something. He's a great guy and very upbeat. He loves the items they carry and is very happy to open the cases and let you try stuff on. I like that he remembers my name too. Nice touch, that.

Do stop in. This is a great place to find gifts for that hard-to-buy for person on everyone's list, and you're sure to find something for yourself as well. Wonderful little shop!

PROS: Great prices, unique items, friendly staff
CONS: I'm weak
