Prospect Park Zoo

If it isn't to hot and you need something to do with your kids, head to the zoo! Prospect Park zoo may not be the biggest but it has some really nice features that make it worth your while. While the 'normal' animals are included - elephants, zebras, lions, birds, various reptiles - what makes the zoo a fantastic time is the panda bears and great apes. We have two great pandas who are always entertaining to the litle ones. My son loves to press his face against the glass and stare, even when the panda is merely sleeping. :) Also, the great apes are simply magnificent. Brooklyn has a large number of silverback males as well as family groups with little apes playing. It's a fun day for the entire family

This is a great zoo to take children. It is not so big that everyone will get tired and no so small that you will get bored. You can tell that when they designed this zoo they were thinking about the children. You get to watch animals feedings, which is always fun. I love the petting zoo where kids get to pet and feed the animals.

This is the perfect local zoo for your little children ages 2 until about 8. They have three sections with different exhibits in each. They have a few showings of seal feedings which the kids enjoy. Many of their exhibits are indoors so even if it rains, you are still safe. They designed lots of the exhibits so the really small children can really enjoy. They also have a whole section of farm animals that the kids can actually feed.

A great place for an easy field trip. WHile its not as big as the Bronx Zoo it is much more doable in a day. Children can use the petting zoo and see more exotic animals such as a kangaroo and an emu without being too exhausted. A good location and good parking and the price is definitely right. If you belong to WCS this is a zoo you can visit over and over. Sea lion feedings too!

this is a great place to bring the kids. They get to keed the cows and the sheep. They have all kinds of animals. They even have seals. If your kids lovve monkeys and creepy crwalers they will get to see them up close and personal at this zoo.
