My wife and I use this facility and the one in Evanston which is far superior. The Rogers Park gym is a Bally's legacy club and apparently an afterthought for LA Fitness. The place is a complete dump; filthy, unkempt, broken equipment, and worst of all, one employee working the front desk, constantly on her mobile phone and cannot be bothered to answer questions or give information.

If you are considering joining LA Fitness and the dirty, poorly managed ROGERS PARK location would be your main club DO NOT JOIN - there's a nice independent gym on Jarvis at Ashland that's much better equipped and the owners seem to care about the place as well as the Evanston LA Fitness which is the polar opposite of the horrible ROGERS PARK club. Very sad

This gym is small and just has the basics. It can be a bit annoying waiting for the machines as it's also quite popular. The machines are nice that are here. New treadmills and eliptical machines are nice and the weight machines are good. I like the yoga classes. I just prefer to ride out to the North Shore branch, which is much more enjoyable in my opinion.

SORRY GUYS - THIS IS FOR THE ROGERS PARK LOCATION!

I just joined this Ballys and have been nothing but pleased. The overall atmosphere is very condusive to working out. The staff are incredibly friendly. The lockers are semi clean but I personally would not shower there. The classes are extremely professional and wonderful with a great range from Kwando to Yoga. The workout machines are decent - although noone really wipes them down, which I feel is a little weird. Overall, the price is right and the experience is great. I liked the fact that Dominicks is right there. I can hop over for some grocery shopping afterwards which is wonderful. Although parking right outside the gym is limited, there is a huge parking lot. I would be careful of personal items here as the area tends to get a little questionable. I have had no problems though.
Overall a good place to work out at.

PROS: Convenient, next to grocery store, Good range of machines, Free classes
CONS: Locker rooms arent super clean. Machines tend to get crowded in PM.

You'll find the basics you need here to workout, including all the essentials in cardio and strength training equipment, classses, and a swimming pool. Club layout is on several levels, and includes a tiny juice bar and daycare center. Not a lot of frills here, and parking is extremely difficult to find during peak periods--bad enough to deter you from working out if you aren't patient. However, it has an interesting atmosphere and high-energy vibe. The decor is industrial, with black and white color schemes, exposed pipes, glass block and caverous, angular workout areas. Locker room are clean, but given the age of this club, could use an overhaul.
