While it's true that there has been significant turnover of coaches at NSG, it remains far and away the best gym in Lincoln. My daughter has attended for the past 6 years, and my wife and I are pleased with the results. More importantly, my daughter wouldn't go anywhere else.

This gym is a joke..Favorites a must..If your daughter is talented and out of their loop then this gym is not for you. They tend to hold gymnast back until it meets their needs and not if and when the gymnast is ready...

Nebraska School of Gymnastics is a great atmosphere for young women to thrive in gymnastics. Tim and Rachel, as well as the other coaches are extremely talented and very professional. I have a level 10 daughter who was close to quitting just a year ago, and now has been re-inspired. She has improved tremendously thanks to the Garrissons. I would recommend it to any serious gymnast.

From what I hear and see, the younger programs are equally successful.

Okay, that first review is completely wrong. We might not have been the greatest gymnasts...but there was never that serious of injuries and if there was an injury, it wasn't because of bad spotting or bad instructions, it was because...well that's what happens in gymnastics. And if your afraid to let your child get hurt then...I don't know put them in...yoga okay, not gymnastics. We had some GREAT coaches who cared about the gymnasts and their safety. They would never do ANYTHING to hurt us or anything like that. We've been working hard all year long and look at us now level 5 undefeated for a whole season!!Oh ya!! Okay its not that we were bad we just didn't apply ourselves but now we have some great coaches and we're kicking some butt!! But those other reviews are great go...well i don't know if you want me to say your name but i know who wrote the first review...Rays mom lets put it like that and thank you Pam...you guys have always had faith in our team thank you.

Much love,

With the addition of Tim (UNL women's gymnastics assistant coach) and Rachel Garrison as coaches (owners?), NSG will be the premier gym in Lincoln. The only negative for NSG is the limited parking.

I have two daughters going to NSG. My oldest daughter did suffer from the inconsistent coaching in the past but has flourished with the Garrisons. They are firm and have expectations but are never mean spirited or demeaning. The atmosphere is very positive. They have hired other coaches (students as well as adults) to assist them but I'm sure they meet their expectations as well. NSG has access to some of the best coaches and gymnasts in Lincoln and they use them on occasion.

NSG has the best equipment in town (that = safety) and the parents are never asked to buy it. Even during the coaching changes, in the 3+ years that we have been at NSG, I can only think of two "serious" injuries that occurred in the gym. Those injuries were not due to lack of supervision, poor spotting, not enough coaches, etc. Those injuries were due to, well, gymnastics. The skills that are thrown often cause injuries and in both cases ligaments/tendons were torn during the execution of a skill...by an uppper level gymnast. Not a 5 year old.

If you are looking for a gym for your daughter to do competitive gymnastics, there isn't a better one in Lincoln. The "recreational" program is growing too, so check it out.

PROS: Coaches, Equipment, Atmosphere, Safety
CONS: Parking

If you haven't checked out NSG recently, be sure to do so. They have new coaches, one is the assistant UNL women's gymnastics coach. I just moved all 3 of my daughters after 6 years at another gym and I couldn't be happier. Some coaches can do gymnastics but not teach it. These guys can teach, my daughters have learned more in the past two weeks than in two years at their previous gym. GO BIG RED!

You would think that being associated with a top college gymnastics team and Olympics coaches would help this gym be a good place for kids. Unfortunately, this gym has suffered for years due to coaches and teachers that don't stay very long. The teachers are usually college students, and they change from semester to semester--making continuity in teaching skills impossible. There is a revolving door for the coaches of the the competitive team, causing communication with parents to be quite inadequate and unsatisfactory. Also, there is usually not enough staff around to create a safe environment for children learning gymnastics. Too many times children have gotten hurt because there weren't adequate spotters, or there wasn't good instruction.

You are taking your chances with your child's physical and emotional well-being with this gym. There is a new coach recently, and maybe she will turn things around. If she stays.

PROS: New coach, Rochelle Simpson was top gymnast in the USA>
CONS: Not enough staff, unsafe, kids get hurt, coaching staff changes
