The best thing about this bookstore is the staff. They are friendly and quick to help you out even when the store is busy. I also love the buyback program at the end of each semester. It's nice to have a little extra cash instead of the books gathering dust when the semester is over.
This book store does a good job of keeping books in stock. The staff is helpful even when busy. The store layout is pretty simple so you can usually find the books yourself. The lins can be pretty long. But they are in a very good location if you are walking. If driving, parking will be difficult.
This bookstore is a place where you have to buy some books during your studying years, because they are the one who prepare course packs for a lot of classes. Their service is not so efficient, you have to wait for two days to get your course pack, I really hated that. Their price is also high, no discount.
I recall that I'd mostly purchased clothing items from here. They do have books but I just don't remember buying many there. The store does carry a little of everything. They do occasionally have items not found elsewhere (like clothes) so I suppose that's a reason to visit.
It almost makes me ill to think about how much money I have spent at Ulrichs over the years. Textbooks alone send me into the thousands. Of course, usually you dont have a choice in that matter.
There are definitely cheaper places to buy Michigan apparel (Steve and Barrys for one), but Ulrichs does give you the traditional college bookstore experience. So, instead of buying that $60 sweatshirt, stop in to buy a mug and then head elsewhere for your paraphernalia.
Very close to campus, just across the street from the north west corner of the quad, Ulrichs has a lot of michigan parephanalia as well as the normal boring textbooks and stationary. Their clothing and things aren't as cheap as Steve and Barrys up the road but you do feel like you are supporting somewhere more... local...
it is a good place to get your text book. YOu can get used book in very good condition. If you don't need the books after you finished your class, you can sell it back after the term. So, you don't have to pay a lot of money for the book you might never take a look again. It also have great collections of office supply over there. You also can buy U-mich shirt, pants and sweater.
This bookstore has everything a student needs to get ready for a exciting school year. It has all kinds of textbooks, notebooks, pens, pencils and much more school supplies. It has any kinds of school memorabilia such as U of M sweatshirts and t-shirts to show your school support. Prices are usually reasonable as well. Stop by if you are in the area today!!!
PROS: Location, service
CONS: pricey at times
The ulrichs bookstore is where I shop my textbooks most often. With a teaching job on campus, I can always get 10% off the regular price by showing my teaching ID. In this way, the price I got can sometimes beats the price on amazon. Also, they offer gotused membership, so you do get some bonus back from shopping there. However, if you are thinking to buy things other than textbooks, they always charge you a price way too high. Go somewhere else, like staples or officemax or even Walmart to get your office/school supplies.
Ulrichs is the place to go for books, since it has some of the cheaper prices around. They offer buyback services at the end of each semester so they're the place to go if you either want to sell your books back or buy used books. They have many other things you may need for school, so it's definitely an all in one shop, with an additional electronics shop located a few storefronts down. While the lines can be long during the beginning of the year, most times they move fast since they have numerous registers open. They also offer photo developing that you can send out and get back within a few days, which is a great deal cheaper then some of the one-hour photo places located on campus.
This is the place to be for all old books connoisseurs. They have a vast variety of used books. Some of the books even date back to the 19th century. They have contemporary books too but the store is not famous for having them. They also have books ranging from science to arts. The just charge the right price for their books. The price is not fixed and so you have some room for bargaining for the books. The infrastructure and ambience is just right for a bookstore. They welcome you to the store with a big smile in their face. For cheap and best books this is the place to be.
