Choosing Froedert Hospital and the affiliated Medical college of Wisconsin turned out to be a big mistake. I went there because I had friends in the area who could care for me after surgery (I live in Hawaii). After seeing the 2 surgeons for consultation, I had to wait 1 entire month for the surgery, all the while cancer cells growing and dividing exponentially. Dr. Yen ordered an ultrasound of my lymph nodes, which showed negative. Then she strongly recommended removal of a few to make sure there was no cancer. There was, but why order an extremely expensive test if she was just going to ignore it? Could this have been a way to pad the bill a little? I'm not sure.

The surgery and hospital stay (1 night) was good, but afterwards the oncologist recommended a port be inserted for chemo, even though I was going back to Maui for chemo. when I got home, the oncology nurses were shocked that they inserted a port when my veins were so good. In fact, we never even used it. Another very expensive procedure which was not needed and I was left with a 2 inch scar, which I really didn't need.

Then the plastic surgeon accidentally punctured my expander and over the next few months, all the fluid leaked out. Now I need to go through another operation with another expander. So this little blooper cost me an 8 month setback and what will probably turn out to be thousands of $$$.

The total bill for all this was close to $111,000.00--a little steep for 1 surgery, 1 night in the hospital and office visits. Make no bones about it--this hospital charges top dollar.

Last thing--they kept sending me a bill that I had already paid and even turned it over to a collection agency, even though I had the cancelled check. After hours on the phone trying to straighten it all out, I finally paid it AGAIN to protect my credit.

After surgery 3 month checkup was misdiagnosed. Not happy about that. They need to slow down and get it right. Lives are at risk here! People are real!

I had a cardiac ablation by Dr. James Roth. I expected competence from him and the CV Team. I was deeply grateful for the compassion ,not only toward me but also toward my family. During the 8 hr. procedure, a staff member or Dr. Roth came out every 2 hr. to keep the family informed of the progress of the procedure. They felt as though they were a vital part of the process, rather than a passive adjunct. It helped them to be less stressed.
I would recommend Dr. Roth and the Froedtert Heart and Vascular Team to any one seeking not only a cure but a healing presence.

Took my daughter to the ER there & never again! We were there for about 8hrs. She was in severe pain. Unfriendly, lazy nurses & doctors. Sounded like they were having a party right outside our room!
Very unprofessional! Did not give the impression they were busy wth patients..... they were busy laughing & making week end plans (its was only Monday night!)

I had to get my daughter some water myself, after waiting about 20 min. after the nurse said she would get it.

If you take a loved one there..... you better prepare to be there a very long time! And don't expect a smile or introduction from a nurse either

Dr. Mueller is one of Milwaukee's top doctors, as indicated by Milwaukee Magazine. As proof, I offer you my story. I herniated 2 discs in my back 9 years ago & had numerous surgeons recommend surgery. I was scared, because I had so many colleagues tell me that back surgery is a crap shoot. But I had no choices; I had such severe sciatica that my driving privileges were revoked and I was unable to function most of the time. Luckily, I was referred to Dr. Wade Mueller by a colleague of mine who was in a terrible accident, rendering him unable to have use of one of his arms. He was operated on by Dr. Wade Mueller, a neurosurgeon at Froedtert, who restored function in his arm again. Hearing my colleague's experience with Dr. Mueller, I made my appointment & waited for his response. He was fantastic on every level - brilliant, conservative in his approach, down to earth, caring. I went ahead and had Dr. Mueller do my back surgery and I also went through PT at Spinecare afterwards. Needless to say, 9 years post surgery and one baby later, I am still pain free! I cannot tell you how fantastic it feels to know that I can drive, walk, sit, and play sports with my kids without pain. To see me pre-surgery compared to post-surgery, you would think that Dr. Mueller performed nothing short of a miracle. Well, it gets even better. Fast forward to another woman's story.
Just last year I received a call from a friend whose co-worker needed life saving brain surgery. She had been operated on before & was told she was out of options or too high risk. She had 2 young children at home & was desperate for help. I listened to her story and told her to make a appointment with Dr. Mueller. She did. He agreed to operate on her, fully informing her that she was a very risky case (which she knew going in). The surgery went well even though she was betting against the odds. I am happy to report that today she is alive and well, enjoying her family like she hoped. As I said, I cannot describe, without gushing, the impact Dr. Mueller made on my life and so many others like me. I hold Dr. Mueller in the highest regard & hope that others in need will find hope in these stories.

I had ankle surgery at Froedtert and the nurses and doctors were so friendly. I was very scared of needles so they tricked me...one nurse called my name and I looked over at her and the other quickly gave me a shot while I was turned away...it didn't even hurt!!
