Gitelman Singer Merlo DDS PC

Wow! I've had two teeth extracted at this office. Concur w/the extreme staff rudeness. They're nasty, unpleasant and unprofessional like. Yet they keep their jobs. Merlo did the work and wasn't rude. There's one person who assists him and she was kind.

I am so glad I came across these postings! So true! Could not agree more with both re rude staff and no bedside manners. And I thought it was just ME!

Reception staff is indeed awful. I was getting all four of my wisdom teeth pulled with general anesthesia, and I arranged for my partner to pick me up after the procedure (we all work for a living, don't we?). When I got there the receptionist threatened to postpone the procedure (imagine, after arranging for days off at work!) because my ride had to sit in the waiting room throughout the entire procedure! Supposedly that was verbally explained to me and I allegedly signed something to that effect (when I asked to see that signature turned out no such thing was signed). It might have been verbally explained to me, I can't guarantee that it wasn't, but I don't recall it. You should have seen the look of the receptionist, she seemed so happy that my procedure might be delayed! In the end my partner had to rush there and sat there for 2 hours waiting for me.

Despite that and despite Merlo's and his nurse's total lack of bedside and even common manners, he is amazing! 4 wisdom teeth pulled and practically no pain and discomfort!!! That's pretty amazing

the entire staff/doctors at this office are incredibly rude and unprofessional. I only went in for a consultation and will not return for the procedure. They used me for my $150 consultation fee. The staff treated me horribly everytime i called prior to the appointment, during my time in the waiting room, and when i had basic questions. Dr. Gitelman was more interested in frightening me and then collecting the fee, than answering questions and treating me with respect. I will tell everyone i know not to go to this surgeon!

I am a giant dental wimp. Dr. Merlo has no patience for my kind, but he definitely knew how to make me follow orders, and, when it was all said and done, he managed to handle my extraction better than my last one. As painless as he could make it, which was helpful, it was over quickly, and that's worth a lot to me.

PROS: Quick, as painless as possible
CONS: No bedsite manner
