Editorial Description by Citysearch
The large, brightly lit dining room with green-and-white checkerboard tableclothed tables gives way to an open kitchen where diners can see meals being prepared. Shelves adorned with tomato cans, boxes of dried pasta and hanging copper pans give the room a homey feel, while one wall is dedicated to an Italian street scene mural. Chef Vitorio Moreno aims for an authentic Northern Italian menu. Pasta fagiole soup is nicely balanced with a bountiful helping of vegetables and beans. Wood-grilled pizzas have a satisfying crunch. The pear and parmesan ravioli in a pine nut and mascarpone cheese sauce is one of many cream-heavy pasta dishes.

If you enjoy fresh pasta, and authentic italian cooking this is the place for you. They serve huge portions and you'll leave the very full! A little pricey but definitely worth it!

If you love italian food- you definitely need to go here! The restaurant is set up with an authentic italy atmosphere- the waiters are all charming italian men. Very class and clean. A great date spot! The food is amazing! Decently priced for a high end restaurant. The ravioli and butter and brown sugar sauce is great!

Good food, smelled like it afterward  3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

By Megan H. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 8,807

The food was excellent - try the pear ravioli it was amazing. My only complaint is that we were seated right by the kitchen and all of our clothes smelled like food after we left. Service was good but I'm not sure I would go back unless we sat somewhere else.

Amazing food! They actually make all their pasta and sauce from scratch! They are incredible and they are really cheap!

THe best thing about the restaurant is the shop on your way out.. They actually jar and sell the sauce that the make. its amazing but you have to cook it yourself - haha!

Definetly worth seeing and experiencing

Pros: They sell their pasta and sauce to go
Cons: You have to cook it

Date Night Place 4 Star Rating - Very good

By nolachitown

I was here this past Friday on a date, and while the overall ambience was nice - the "happy hour" crew was in full force (at 9 pm!) and a lot of 30 somethings that live in the area were belligerent and obnoxious. That is my only complaint, other than that - the food was wonderful, and the portions are huge!! It's a great place to go if you're a college student, and even if you're not, check it out.

Pros: romantic, dimly lit, food portions are huge
Cons: loud drunk people, TVs at bar are distracting,

Best Hostess 4 Star Rating - Very good

By susan0609

The food is excellent! I have never had a bad meal and we try to go once a week. We always take special customers and out of town guests. This restuarant feels like a smalll family owned place instead of a chain. Order from the specials they are really excellent. Great wine list and standard menu.
It is a little noisy, but most casual great restaurants are.

Everything was great. We loved the food and that we could sit ourside. People watching wasn't bad either. Service was wonderful (and pretty too). We stayed downtown but the trip was worth it.

Pros: food, romantic
Cons: improve patio
