I needed to get a corset back put into my wedding dress and when I read the review for this woman about the local schools using her for their uniforms, I thought, well, let's give her a shot. I went there two days ago with my mother-in-law to be and we walked in and the lady said, "oh, what have you got there!" I hung the dress on the hook by the front counter and we opened the plastic hanger and I told here that I was there to get a price quote for having a corset backing put in my dress. She looked at me and immediately said "HUH?" I looked at my future mother-in-law and she looked at me and all I could think was, "she does alterations and she does not know what a corset is?" She has "wedding dresses" written on her window, so I know that I cannot be the only one who has come in wanting a corset backing in their dress. But we still had to explain it to her. When the woman finally (at least I think) realized what we were talking about she said, "oh, your talking about a job!" My mother-in-law to be said, "you mean a lot of money, right?" And the woman said, "Yes." Well, then the woman proceeded to ruffle my dress from the bottom up by shoving her hand through the inside ot the fabric (quite violently I might add) to look and see how thick the inside of the dress was where she was to do the altering. She said, "you see how thick it is in there, you might want to do the corset in the sides." Well this is not the best idea because there is a lot of rousching in the upper part of the dress as well as quite a bit of embroidery. Doing the corset in the sides would be detrimental to both of these characteristics of my dress and she was only planning on doing about two inches in each side (I had already explained to here that I needed at least six more inches in the dress.) Two inches in each side does not equal six. When I told her that I really wanted the corset in the back and then she again insisted that I do it in the sides, my future mother-in-law asked her about how much she would charge to do that. The woman then replied to her, "How much are you willing to spend." My mother-in-law to be asked her again how much she wanted to charge and the woman repeated her question, "How much do you want to spend." We told her that that was not the way that it worked, we wanted a price quote from her, not the other way around. The woman looked shocked as if she had never had to give anyone a price quote before. I looked and my future mother-in-law and said, "Ok, I think we can leave now." Then, as I was trying to put the dress back in the plastic, the woman began to ruffle the bottom of my dress again and put it back in the plastic and almost zipped up the bottom of my dress in the hangar! I politely dropped to my knees and told her, "I'll do that," and we left.

Unless you want something simple done, I would not go to this woman. She may do just fine with school uniforms, but I would NOT recommend her for anything else.

Pros: None except that she seems nice, but only when you come in.

Cons: Unsure about corset, no price quote, violent with dress
