Ravelry friends let me know about this great store, and I highly recommend it.

Friendly atmosphere and a broad selection of nice yarns in all price points.

Having shopped there several times over the last few years, I avoid going there if at all possible. I haven't ever found the sales people to be pleasant. My latest trip there was a couple of months ago, looking for a specialty yarn for a shawl. They recently moved, but I haven't gone to their new sore. It's just not worth the annoyance. At first I thought it was just because I mostly crochet and they don't like those who prefer a hook to needles. I haven't told them I crochet since my first trip, and still have received the same feeling that I'm annoying the person working at the time. Plus, a pet peeve of mine is when someone stops checking my purchase out to take a phone call.

Temporarily staying in Kansas City, I found this store to be so very and friendly, many knitters hanging at the table and great conversations and support. This store has the best variety/quantity of yarns and notions in the city. Very vivacious and colorful store

I stopped in here to find a hard to locate color of thread and was pleased to find a helpful sales staff and competitive pricing. The saleswoman made every attempt to make sure I found exactly what I needed.

This is a great little knitting shop located in the old downtown area of Overland Park, just a bit south of Metcalf and 75th. They have a wonderful selection of yarns and the best aspect is that they are arranged by color, rather than brand; this makes it extremely easy to brainstorm and make a really unique garment. They also have an extremely good selection of tools and books--stronger than other metro yarn shops, and they have Addis!--as well as an area to sit and chat, and an area for classes. Definately worth the drive.

PROS: yarns are arranged by color!
CONS: heavy on the novelty yarns
