I am new to this and a bit surprised to see some of the reviews on this page. Our experience with NGCC has been nothing short of wonderful. The teachers are very caring and listen to our concerns. The building is always clean and well maintained, and there is plenty of space for the kids to run and have fun. We have also been impressed with the curriculum, and our child is always learning while having a good time. Keep up the good work NGCC!

Originally was satisfied with the center until I started to realize my little one wasn't being taught the basics; directors are unprofessional; talk behind parents back and put children down (confirmed by the teachers who were willing to tell me privately). Similar to the other reviews, if your child needs a special attention (i.e. injury at the center or ongoing medication, expect to be kicked out). Sadly we wasted 2 years only to find out, I was better off putting her somewhere else where she would actually learn the basics and be in a safe environment. Educational instruction is very poor/not progressive at all. Terrible center. Merely an expensive low quality daycare (preschool etc. would mean they learn something, which they don't) with way too many children, not enough room for them to play inside or out and missed opportunity to instruct the children. Horrible directors in charge.

I'm with the viewer that mentioned a safety issue. My child was at a Next Generation where they a received a head injury that should have required an ambulance be called. A number of meetings were held with the "powers that be" where nobody wanted to be held accountable and we where ultimately told if we didn't think our child was safe then we should find another daycare. Really, that's your customer service? They are a business where most of us are working parents who pay them for a service to hopefully keep our kids safe in addition to learning. We ultimately had to pull our child out and are now dealing with adjusting to new routine and new school.

I had the unfortunate experience of enrolling my child in this center. Would give it zero stars because of the safety issue I faced with my child at the beginning of this school year. Eventually, I had to remove my daughter from her classroom because she was punched in the face NUMEROUS times. After speaking with the program director, about the issue, she belitted me, my feelings and the very real problems in that class. If you would like your child to come home with black eyes, while the director sits back and does nothing to make the situation better you should go here. I cannot stress enough. Next Generation Children's Center is NOT a safe place for your children. They do not care about your child, only making money.

I have two children currently in NGCC Hopkinton and one 'graduate'. I work part time as a Nurse and have loved the 2 day schedule there with the option to add on a third day (which I typically do around the holidays). Before the Hopkinton school opened, my oldest had also been in the Westboro facility. Hopkinton is great with low turnover on the teachers. I have a child in toddlers now and preschool. All three of my kids started in the infant rooms. Great activities and all teachers are certified and have degrees and are truly caring. Wonderful activities and they learn to read and write in fun ways.

We switched our son from an at home daycare which he'd loved to Next Generation and were very nervous about the transition. We'd switched him out of the home daycare since the owners daughter had been in a car accident in Colorado and had to leave the area immediately. Our son has been in the Pre-K room now for several months and is much happier at Next Generation than at our last place. The day is fun and he always has funny stories to tell me and also I'm amazed at how much he has learned.

It was difficult knowing that I was going to have to leave my child at day care but the Director of the PreK and K program went above and beyond each day to make my family feel welcomed. She even took interest when I would have my mother or in-laws with me. She took time to know all of the families on a first name basis and had an admirable energy level no matter what time of day it was, even after returning from a maternity leave. The curriculum was educational yet fun and my child became so confident. There was no teacher turn over all year in this program or the year before in my child's Preschool classroom. The teachers communicated very well as did this director and the Office Administrator. I highly recommend this facility to others. My child has recently left to venture out into the public schools and the director has moved to the Walpole school but I feel this school puts the children's needs first and it is one of the best experiences I have had.

We had high hopes for Next Generation and were very distressed over what we ended up finding here. Some of the teachers are ok, some are not, but that's what you get at these large chain centers. The worst part was the management team -

After my first daughter spent 6 months in a daycare in Boston near my office, I switched her to Next Generation in Hopkinton in 2005. This is a MUCH cleaner and better center than the one in Boston. Although in Boston I could commute with her and see her briefly at lunch etc, the facilities were night and day and I was paying $10 less per week at Next Generation. My daughter has been at Next Generation now for three years and has been in the infant room, toddler room, and now preschool. My son just started the infant room in May of 2008 and I have nothing but excellent things to say about the classroom and the staff. As mentioned, it's cheaper than a nanny or a Boston daycare center. I'm paying about $7.45 for my preschooler here and $10 an hour for my infant. Love the new playground facilities and all the projects they make. In Boston there was no curriculim, or any structure. The kids just sat around and had what they call 'free play' all day long and I was paying more for that. Plus at Next Generation the food is included, in Boston I had to pack lunches and snacks.

We were extremely disappointed in many aspects of this center, and in particular quality of the management staff and director. After having sent our children to an extremely well-run childcare center in a different state, we were shocked at the lack of quality in this center.

Inexperienced management team: The current management team is very inexperienced, and the current director even lacks basic education such as a college degree. They are not concerned for your child?s well being or education. They are concerned about appearances and making money.

Lack of Cleanliness/Health issue: On 7 different occasions lice was found in the toddler rooms. After each time the rooms were not adequately cleaned and the children's heads were not adequately checked so the problem kept reoccurring.

Inflexible and unfriendly teachers: The pre-k teachers are extremely cold and unfriendly, and the children's daily schedules are very inflexible. Every time I am there to visit the teachers are always harping on 'how much work we still need to get done today' and activities are cut short.

Lack of communication: The school cancelled the after school/before school care program without mentioning it in a newsletter to the parents of all students. They only told parents of the pre-k/kinder class, so preschool parents were not informed. They certainly promoted this offering as part of the tour when we selected this school, but were told (by the regional direct) they didn't think it necessary to inform parents that would need this service in the future.

Facilities/Lack of outside time: Even if the weather is great the afternoon time is limited to 30 minutes because they do not have the play yards to accommodate the number of classrooms.

Facilities: The school transformed the former after school care room into a toddler room. There are no windows in this room.

There are many, many other alternatives in the Hopkinton/Metro West area you should consider.
