We loved Osaka until last week. Work partners went to Lunch. The food was not as good as remembered, the chef was horrible. Swearing (the F word), he was unhappy and complaining about his loss at gambling. He forgot the carrots. He tried to do a few tricks but couldn't muster it, he threw a fork at my boss from his inability to do a trick. The appetizer, which was a hot item was not cooked. Nothing worse than eating into something that should have been cooked and getting fishy tasting and smelling raw fish. The guy helping him forgot to split the ticket. We weren't offered the salad. There was a lot more forgetting of things that used to be a staple. A shame for what was a good restaurant.

My family comes from all over the country and we all enjoyed our evening! The quality of the food is excellent.
We have eaten at fancier Japaneses Restaurants in California, paid twice as much (extra for fried rice) and not had any better food.
The appetizers were also really good.

Osaka wasent what I expected. The chefs litteraly cooked our food and didn't attemped to entairtain us with tricks. He was borring. The food was ok. It gave my family horrible stomach cramps and the worst farts. The soup litterally tasted like soap because they didnt wash the bowl good. Never go there!!!

Osaka wasn't like the other Japanese restaurants I have been to in this country. IT'S WORSE. The portions are average at best and the chefs have no personality. I might as well go to Benihana chain restaurants than this place. Their sushi is below average and not worth the pricing. In fact, I overheard the owner spending more time talking badly about a competing restaurant, Kaji, than worrying about the needs of his customers. Maybe it's because I was ignored that I'm pissed, but geez, be worried about your customers and not about your competition. I don't plan on ever coming back to this Japanese restaurant. I plan on going to the competition and see what the hype is about Kaji.

I'm afraid I've been to too many of these teppanyaki places to be impressed with the show anymore. The first two or three times you go they're pretty cool. After a couple dozen times you begin to figure out that they're all the same. Not much to differentiate Osaka from other teppanyaki grill joints -- except that you can't sit at a regular table -- it's all teppanyaki.
The sushi is average to below average, even for the midwest. Sushi House is better. Service is average to below average.
If you've never had the teppanyaki experience then Osaka is a great place to get it. Better than Kaji.
