Dionysus Restaraunt & Lounge

Fun, dark place with a cool vibe. Nice happy hour specials, great bar food and a nice dinner menu for the restaurant upstairs. The bartenders are also some of the friendliest and most professional around. This is the brain-child of former bar-tenders at club charles and brewers art.

Dionysus is a bar and restaurant in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore. The upstairs of this narrow rowhouse is a restaurant, and the downstairs is a bar/lounge. The bar has an interesting selection of beers, including one locally-made from the Brewer's Art. The hamburger is a particular favorite among my friends, although the fancier restaurant food is generally priced above our limited budgets. Friendly bartenders, comfy retro recliners, and good happy hour beer prices make this our group's favorite after-work meeting place.

My wife and I went to Dionysus for an evening out at a classy restaurant, in search of a casual fine dining experience. What a disapointment. Not only was the food in no way Greek or even Meditteranean (Dionysus is the Greek God of Joy and Wine), but the food was horrible. Our waiter couldn't answer any of our questions about the food and when we left there our stomachs hurt. If you are looking for a place to be seen and/or say you went to for the sheer pretentiousness of it, then Dionysus is for you. If, however, you are looking for something good to eat, you won't find it here.
