I am so happy with Vasaio Life Spa. I have struggled for years with unwanted hair and now I am free thanks to them. I have been treated so well at each visit, the facilities are spotless and I could not be happier with my results. I would not hesitate to send any friends or family members, in fact my Mom started going about 2 months ago and is also thrilled with the results. I am pleased to say that I have finally found a place that actually has results.
As is a common story, don't bother buying the groupon, you will not be satisfied. Every negative review is theb same thing that happened to me. I feel like I am getting a second rate service because of the groupon. My mom and sister in law both have had groupons at two different salons and they have had complete satisfaction and cannot believe the service I am getting at vasaio. I think they purposefully set the laser real low so you have to buy more sessions. Not happy with my experience.
DON'T BOTHER WITH THE GROUPON! I was pretty disappointed with my first experience so far. I paid for the 6 visits and chose hair removal, as stated in the offer. The salon gets an A+ on ambiance. The customer service was poor, and the service I paid for was, I guess you get what you pay for. Don't expect to feel confident that Laser hair removal will be perfomed by a certified Doctor, it will be done by a twenty-something salon girl. I think her name was Carly, and I understood all of her objectives, having worked in retial myself. I would advise the salon owners though, to offer her some customer service and public relations training. My appointment began with a questsionaire, then proceeded to a sales pitch on how 6 visits would likely not be enough for most people, and that I would save lots of money if I wanted to commit to another $99 for additional treatments through the end of 12 months. this is before the start of the first treatment mind you. When I declined, she seemd rather annoyed. She then told me that it is recommended that one stop waxing or plucking 4 weeks prior to the visit. I told her that I had stopped a week before, and shaved the areas I wanted worked on, as I had been advised by friends who had this treatment elsewhere. Carly then told me that the treatment probably wouldn't be effective because it had not been 4 weeks, but I could choose to have a treatment today and it would count as my one of six. I wanted to go ahead and explained that I lived an hour away. I also said that the appointment had been made for weeks now, and that no one had mentioned that - any preparation at all - at the time the appointment was made. She then sighed and said, "well, there is a lot they could tell everyone, but they would be on the phone all day." So the "treatment" started and ended, all in no more than 30 seconds. She stated that it is fast, and works well, even though she did not even cover all areas that were to be treated. I scheduled my next visit for 6 weeks as was recommended. I have never left a spa feeling so disappointed and angry as I did today. Every spa I have visited in the past for services really went out of the way to make me feel special, hopeful, and beautiful. I felt nothing like that, at all. I understand that $99 is not what they may have made without a sale, but it is still my money that I chose to spend in this salon. I expect more. If you are expecting to have someone take your coat, treat you like they have time for you, like they can help you meet your goals, hand you a cucumber water, and make you feel pampered, then go elsewhere. If you are willing to throw more money at it in hopes that you might get the service you wished for, then go for it. If I had been impressed, I might have scheduled a massage or some other servive along with my next visit, but I will be anxious to get it over with.
Don't bother if you are going to use a Groupon. Beside the hig pressure sales pitch for more treatments on your very first appointment they are very unprofessional. I wish I had gotten my money refunded as the last treatment (my fourth) had me dragged into a back treatment room where a ragged brown blanket covered the table. It was littered with a ton of white specks. I don't know if it was skin or what but disgusting! Don't even think about the hair removal if you have any kind of lighter hair. I have auburn and my facial hair grows in red, well, I am more than half way done with treatments and can't notice a single fewer hair. What a waste of money!
I just had my first visit to Vasaio Life Spa after purchasing the groupon for the laser hair removal. As I walked in I was warmly welcomed and loved the calming atmosphere. Patty the laser technician throughly explained and put my mind to ease on the procdure itself. It was really quick as well which worked out perfectly since I did it on my lunch break. As I left I was encouraged to come back with exclusive specials in the spa and salon.. I am truly satisfied with my experince and would recommend the spa to anyone!
Wow.. I had my first experience here today. YES, I used a Groupon.. I don't think this spa likes Groupon customers.. Anyway - I had purchased 6 laser hair removal treatments, today was my first one. First impression at reception desk was not great, greeted with "Do you have your Groupon Certificate??" Then IMMEDIATELY am bombarded with you MUST upgrade to get real results for $99.. THEN the treatment is like 23 seconds - four swoops of laser.. Done. And you need to put this lotion on 3x/day for the next few days - it's "ten bucks" (yes, she said "ten bucks") - then she paraded me out to reception with my $10 bottle of magic lotion. I do not plan to go back for the other 5 treatments, and I probably have no recourse.. oh well. Lesson learned. Absolutely NOTHING about this appointment portrayed any kind of "Spa" experience..
I have been receiving services from Vasaio for about 5 years, so I think I have a broader perspective for critiquing their quality. I initially came in for some non-invasive maintenance procedures to preserve and improve the quality of my skin, both facially and on my body. I was struck by the owner Vickie's commitment to the philosophical, scientific, and spiritual approach to her service. She spends time engaging with her clients, and pays great attention to their needs, both physically and emotionally. I do understand some of the unpleasant reviews given, because I have also had some negative experiences at the spa. I want to reassure the public, though, that it was not about the spa...it was about the reality of unpredictable employees. If you will demand VICKIE as an essential part of your service on the first visit, you will not be disappointed. She and her husband have committed themselves and their family to improving the lives of others, which is a principle I value and want to shout about. When I developed a relationship with Vasaio, I couldn't believe how I was always treated like family. If the consumer is not happy, it is only because they have not advocated for themselves. Talk to the management. The will go over and above the call of duty to make you happy. I am a very discerning and critical customer, and in no way biased. I love a good bargain, but also know that you have to pay for quality. Vasaio truly is a good bargain, yet they provide top-knotch service. Whenever I need some "tune-ups," not just for my body, but for my soul, I think of Vasaio. Honestly communicate with the staff, and they will give you what you deserve and have paid for.
I was very disappointed with Vasaio from the moment I walked in. The receptionist never made eye contact and asked if I wanted to keep my coat or have her hang it up. I was there from a Groupon deal I purchased for a microderabrasion and a photo Genesis or Laser Genesis. Patty did greet me and the first thing she asked me was my age. She then asked which did I want the laser or the photo. She never even looked at my face. She went into her speel..that I would have to purchase additional treatments to see any results. I said we'll see how the first one goes. The microderabrasion took about 3 minutes and a few poofs of air on my face. She then whipped some goggles on my face and proceeded to do something that was warm on my face. I asked what was she doing and she said that she would show me when she was done. She said that she has a wand that she has to move very fast so that it would not burn my face! She asked if it was relaxing and I said NO. The noise of the machine was so loud it was NOT relaxing at all. Well, one thing it was fast. I was done in about 15 minutes. I think $99 for 15 minutes and no evidence that I was even there is horrible!!
I have been to Vasaio Life Spa repeatedly since it opened. I have attended charity events there and also go there on a personal level. The owners and staff are all very accommodating and friendly; always greeting me at the door with a smile. The spa is very inviting and relaxing, especially after a long day. They offer a wide range of services to meet every life style. Everyone at the spa goes out of their way to make me feel comfortable and welcomed. I appreciate their dedication to their clients and always look forward to my appointments. I always recommend Vasaio Life Spa to my family, friends and co-workers! Thanks for all you do Vasaio!RAW
After several negative experiences there when the salon was new, I had almost given up. However, the owner contacted me personally and offered several services to regain my patronage. I accepted and was pleased with the services. Also, their customer service level has definitely improved since their startup. I have no complaints with my last visit.
I think it's fitting that my initial negative experiences be known in the interest of personal integrity and, more importantly, a frame of reference for recent improvements.
The Bottom Line: They weren't the best maybe at startup, but they have definitely improved. Such is the life of a business prepared to succeed. The spa was voted the best in Grand Rapids in 2005.
Owners made us feel better after a poor experience.
