The Children's Museum! Many Boston transplants see it and never step foot in it until they spawn offspring and use it as a potential day trip when the aquarium's been exhausted one too many times. The beauty of the Children's Museum, however, is that for the young at heart, this place is a fantastic spot for those who really want an enjoyable experience out of the ordinary. Blow giant bubbles, or go through a fantastic relic of an authentic Japanese house! Everything at the Children's Museum is fair game with the exception of the jungle gyms (please do not attempt!). And feel free to use the remaining time of the weekend concocting magnificent lies to cover for your amazing trip.

Don't worry, your secret's safe with me. I won't tell on you, pinky swear!

Pros: Too much fun!

Cons: Could you admit you actually went here?

My son loves this museum. He remembers every exhibit and activity he did there. We are looking forward to visiting the new facility since it is such a great place to go.

A really cool and fun place for kids. Lots of mind engaging activities. Although, the time that I went it was really crowded, which made the experience for me not so fun, but my little brother had a blast, which is what really mattered.

When I was a kid, I enjoyed going the museum here. I went here often with my family, and it was so much fun. There was so many different things I could do in the museum and there was a lot to learn.

If you have a young child, this is the place to bring him/her. It is a great way to spend a day. The museum itself is expensive but there are alot of libraries that you can get discounted tickets. Even if you have to spend full price it is a nice way to spend a day once a year. They have so much. There is alot of interactive activities that the kids can do. The kids have a great time and the museum keeps them busy for hours.

I love taking my son to the Children's museum. There is a nice gift shop and McDonald's inside as well and it's close to the waterfront in a great location! There are so many things to do there! My family's favorite exhibit is grandmother's attic. It's this weird little house set up like it's from the fifties. I also rather enjoy the giant keyboard hanging from the ceiling as well as the lobsterboat you can pretend to ride and pretend to be a fisherman for the day, well at least for a little while!

This museum dedicated for kids is the most amazing place you'll take your children on a trip to Boston. I honestly believe no other Children's Museum can compare. We recently spent almost a full day there, and still did not see everything. Three floors are filled with things your little ones will get so excited about. We loved the temporary Clifford play area, and the permanent child-sized supermarket. There is a McDonalds on site, which is very convenient even if somewhat crowded. The views from the windows all along the side of the building out onto the harbor/river are breathtaking. The museum also partially validates for parking in certain garages as well. A definite must to see if you're ever in Boston.

To get an idea of how amazing this place was, I went there when I was six years old, and I absolutely loved every minute of it. It was by far my favorite field trip in school.

Would I recommend it as a place to take kids? YES! In fact, of everywhere I've been as a child, I think the Children's Musuem is the best.

PROS: Great place for kids.
CONS:

There is so much to do here - I never get bored and there iis something for every member of the family. All exhibits are hands-on and interactive for the children but are definately entertaining for the parents as well. Lots of great shows and special exhibits. It can be a bit expensive to get inside the doors but libraries typically have free passes you can borrow.

My son loves this museum! I wasn't sure there would be enough for an 18 month old to get involved in but we found plenty for him to do! There is a toddler place which I reccommend especially to parents with little ones (I think it's on the second floor). The only problem is parking which can be expensive (take the T if possible) and check with your local library who often have discount tickets which can offset the price of the day!

This is a great place for kids of any age. The stuff for toddlers all the way up. Very open spaces, hands on, colorful and inviting, the Children's Museum has a lot to offer. My kids especially like the bubble tank and the dress up areas but there is so much to do, I'm sure you will find something for everyone in your family. Not a cheap day but I suggest skipping the attached McDonald's and bringing a lunch. Lots a space outside to sit and picnic right by the river.

This is a great place for children.....they are encouraged to "touch" things here. We took our children here when they were younger and I can't wait for some grandchildren as an excuse to go back. Wonderful hands on educational displays. My favorite was the display on the digestive system. The kids would always get a chuckle of how the end result was "poop".......this is the word they use in the display. I also enjoyed seeing all the dollhouse displays.......I love the ones with a victorian theme.

The Children's Museum of Boston is a great museum to bring a gaggle of kids. The exhibits are very entertaining, educational, and hands-on. It caters more to kids 12 and under, so teenagers may find themselves bored here. This would be a great place to bring a Cub Scout or Brownie Troop. Admission isn't very expensive, either.

PROS: hands on exhibits that are lots of fun for kids
CONS: can be boring to those over 12, always a lot of kids there

This is the best children museum that we had ever visit; it has lots of demo and shows and lots of activities that kids enjoy, even adults have lots of fun. I would certainly come back again, and I would recommend to any family, wealthy or poor. Every Friday 5pm to 9pm it has low $1 per person admission that is very affordable. Or you can join the membership that entitles you not only this museum free but also other 200+ museums ...
