great corporate event
by rw2009
I used their spa services for a corporate event for our employees. The price was fair with gratutity included. They showed up on time and ready to work. I found them to be friendly and professional. They even brought insence and music to make it the full spa experience, but at our work. I would absolutly use their services again and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Fabulous 50's birthday party
by aeclynch
This lovely little Day Spa in Watertown Square was ideal of 5 of my most favorite women and me to gather for an afternoon of pampering! The staff graciously let us set up a buffet and snuggle on the sofa in our robes between treatments. Melodious relaxing music wafted through the space as we sipped wine, savored our relaxed muscles, and delighted in our anti-aged skins, all made possible by the talented staff of massage therapists and facial experts! My birth certificate may say I'm 54, but I feel like I'm back in my 20's!
Pros: Wonderful ambiance; staff was so hospitable
Cons: No nail technician available the day of the event

I would highly recommend the spa and am looking forward to my next facial!

A wonderful relaxing retreat!
by penguindance
I went to the spa for a sensitive skin/basic cleaning facial and Roxanne was wonderful. She was very attentive and super nice.. she informed me every step and the procedure she is going to perform. My facial was superb! I asked for a mani/pedi at the beginning of the facial and they squeezed me in right after my facial. My nail technician was great.. she was nice, gentle, and detailed and did a wonderful job!!! I already have another appointment in a few weeks for a facial, mani/pedi, and a message. Can't wait... I am so glad I found this place... =)
Pros: Quiet, clean, nice, easy parking...
Cons: not at the moment!

I then had a massage, I never had a massage before and was a little nervous but Jenn put me at ease! My day ended with a pedicure and manicure with Angela, she did great and was so sweet! It was such a good day, I can't wait to go back!

Soothing, Radiant Results
by MoiraK
I was very pleased with my recent experience at this spa. Everyone was very friendly -not in an artificial way- that is so common these days, but in a genuine, down to earth yet competant fashion. Most importantly, my skin glowed as a result of the anti-aging facial. I was also referred to excellant products, which I have been pleased with. I would highly recommend this spa.
Pros: Peaceful atmosphere, Excellent Results
Cons: none come to mind

What a treat!
by KFon
I recently went to Tranquility a couple of days before my wedding. I first went with my mom to get a pedicure and it was relaxing and such a treat compared to other places I have been to. There was no rush to get us out and it was so calm and quiet. I loved it. The next day I went for a massage, eyebrow and bikini wax, and manicure. I started off with the massage and it was amazing. I was so comfortable the entire time and felt so great after it was done. My only complaint is that the hour went by too fast. I have had waxing done at many different places but this place ranks number one for me. The manicure was also quite nice and relaxing. Again, no rush to get me out of there. I was also with my maid of honor and a bridesmaid and we were able to share a bottle of wine while we were there. It truly was a wonderful treat for me before my wedding. I won't get anywhere else again.
Pros: Everything about Tranquility is wonderul
Cons: So relaxing you might fall asleep!

A Hidden Gem in Watertown

I found Tranquility through an internet search. I'm new to the area, and wanted to find a clean, professional spa for a manicure and pedicure.
I am impressed to find such an oasis here in Watertown, with prices for services that are extemely fair and reasonable. The staff was very couteous and pleasant. I ended up buying a gift certificate for a friend. I intend on coming back to try a massage adn ear candling.
Try it...You will love it!

Great place. very cute & clean. Nails were done great & pedicure was super relaxing in big comfy chairs...facial by Leah was AMAZING, would go back for that in a second, super relaxing! Massage therapist was very chatty and massage was way too deep for my liking & not relaxing at all.
Price was so reasonable. Mani/Pedi & facial are definitely worth it!
Pros: clean, nails, facial, price
Cons: massage too deep

Almost Perfect Day
by pompom79
My friend and I splurged on a day of beauty at the spa. Everything was on time. My nail tech, Diane, was awesome. She did a great job and has a great personality. Leah did our facial and was fantastic. I fell asleep a couple of times. My skin looked amazing when I left, and still does. I was disappointed with my massage. The therapist talked the.entire.time and definitely applied more pressure than I preferred. I spoke up once about it, and she eased up for a little bit, but then went back to the more firm pressure. She was nice, so I don't mean to slander, it's just my experience.
I will definitely go back for nails and facials!
Pros: relaxing, good location
Cons: massage therapist talking

Wonderful Spa Hidden in Watertown Sq.
by rainbowgirl1277
I was given a prenatal massage, mani & pedi for Mother's Day and had a wonderful 3-hour spa visit. I was fully pampered by several spa professionals who were great at their various jobs. Jennifer does prenatal massage and I was able to get deep tissue work that is often skipped on pregnant women. It was lovely. I added an eyebrow wax to my services and Leah was one of the best estheticians I've had. It was a lovely environment with cozy pedicure chairs and an overall, tranquil environment. I didn't want to leave and I'll surely be back!
Pros: Professional, Relaxing, Cozy, Prenatal Massage Table
Cons: Metered Parking-but staff willing to feed meters for you

Staff were friendly and accomodating; were able to take myself and 3 friends simultaneously; right in Watertown Square; clean environment (although my massage pillow smelled like food). I would recommend the Tranquility Day Spa.
Pros: good staff, easy location

I recently had a manicure and pedicure at Tranquility Day Spa and loved it. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the services were excellent. I was able to go in after work on a day when the spa isn't advertised as being open late but I never felt like I was a nuisance - everyone was very welcoming. I'm planning on going back for a massage very soon.

What brought me to Tranquility Spa were the reviews I read online. I am happy that I read everyone else's opinions, because I had a wonderful experience at Tranquility and will definitely be going back for another facial. They use Dermalogica, which seems to be a really great product line. My skin still feels wonderful, 1 week later.

Great Facial with Leah
by kellyl5
My husband gave me a gift certificate to Tranquility Day Spa for Christmas and I am very happy he did. I have had a good number of facials over the years at many different places and the Age-Defying facial with Leah was definitely one I will be going back for. The atmosphere was very peaceful and clean. Not only is the actual facial relaxing and soothing, the treatment is effective--my skin was glowing and so smooth afterwards. Leah does a great job at just letting the customer relax and enjoy. I can't wait to go back and try another service!

Luxurious spa experience for mall prices!!!
by NBBoston
Quiet serene atmosphere. Gentle music in the background. Friendly staff. My roommate and I enjoyed a one and a half our experience of manicure/pedicure combos. I was offered choice of hot beverage, and while my feet were soaking in warm soothing bubbles, I was reclined in a comfortable living room style easy chair, sipping a hot green tea. All of this for the low price of $40 for the mani/pedi. The expertise is evident, and the whole experience guaranteed that I will be back. In fact, my roommate and I scheduled facial appointments for a couple of weeks from now. This day spa should be added to all the "Best Of" lists in Boston, and rules the roost in Watertown. One more reason to love living in Watertown!!! Thanks Erica and Dianne, and all the Tranquility Day Spa Staff.

Such a great facial at such a great price
by CoopMD
I had not been to this location since its transformation into the Tranquility Spa - wow, what a transformation. What had been a basic storefront has become a beautiful, peaceful and inviting space - cross the entryway and you leave ho-hum Watertown Square and enter a small slice of Newbury Street. I (and my face) were in dire need of some TLC - roughed up by work, baby, and the cold winter weather. I left Tranquility relaxed, refreshed and with a vastly-improved complexion. Thanks so much to Leah - I'm looking forward to more quality time at Tranquility.

Wonderfully relaxing...perfect in every way
by genuinemom
Although this was my first time going to this spa, I was immediately impressed by how clean it was. I was promptly and warmly greeted and very quickly taken back for my facial. The facial was delightful and relaxing. I enjoyed the atmosphere and warmth of the room. It was obvious to me that the young woman who did my facial was very well experienced and took the time to explain the process to me but also allowed me to fully relax and enjoy the process. I then had a massage, which was awesome! I was nervous about being exposed, but the massage therapist was very careful to help me feel comfortable and also took every effort to be discreet; which I appreciated. She was extremely professional and personable. My last stop was the mani/pedi area. This was such a highlight! It was calming, relaxing and fun. The young woman who did my nails and toes was also very kind and personable. She did an excellent job and I thoroughly enjoyed every second. I HIGHLY recommend this spa and know that when you go there you will be taken very good care of and leave there feeling like the Queen that you are!
Pros: You feel like you are the only one there....like your own personal spa!

I LOVE THIS SPA...its my first time having a spa experience. I got my underarms waxed by Leah (great job and did it perfect and painless, now I want a brazillian and facial from her). next was my spa pedi, and mani with Erica, who did a great job and paid close attention to make sure my feet and hands were cute and soft, and a massage by Jennifer who worked my kinks right out the door...i did fall asleep...So i loved my spa package and I recommend it to anybody...Great prices and I will save money so that I can go again soon
Pros: Hot Chocolate and lots of water
Cons: No comfy robes and slippers (but this is only what I see on tv)

Just what a spa should be
by kclinc
a lovely, relaxed afternoon! I phoned that I would be late due to unexpected traffic, but I was accomodated nonetheless and warmly welcomed to my first session at the spa. Setting is tranquil and stylish, my mani/pedi carefully done, and the entire experience a real treat. Although we live a fair distance from the spa, I'd return in a heartbeat!
Cons: bring quarters for parking in nearby lot!

Fantastic Massage Therapists
by sbelle83
I have had a lot of different massages but this one topped them all. First, an hour of deep tissue massage, followed by a half hour of reflexology. Their massage therapists are professional but still friendly and they don't pretend to know your body better than you do. I've already recommended this place to a bunch of my friends, if you really need to relax and de-stress, this is the place to go.

Don't Go Into the City When the Same Thing is Right Here.
by seulement
I recommend Tranquility for waxing (it's the only thing I've had done there). The wax was professional, quick, and (practically) painless. I loved the location because I could park easily and it wasn't a terribly busy crazy place like the middle of the city would be.
Pros: price, location, service

Average spa with good prices and location-worth trying again.
by elastigirl76
I decided to treat myself to a mani/pedi last week and after searching the net came up with Tranquility. The prices were very good for the area and the location was also perfect so I booked. The spa is easy to find and there is a huge parking lot across the street (metered). The spa itself is small, but clean and relaxing.
The girl who was doing my nails did not talk-which was actually nice since I want to just sit back and relax. The mood was ruined though by the other therapists and techs talking and joking outside of the rooms where THEIR clients were relaxing. Just because we aren't getting massages doesn't mean we don't want a tranquil experience...
My pedicure looks great, my manicure...not so much. The polish was bubbly and uneven but because the girl lett the room I couldn't say anything. After 4 cycles of the dryer she still hadn't returned, so I got up and went to pay. She ran after me telling me she had to spray my nails and looked mad that I left without her. But...she was gone too long. I left without making another appointment, but I will go back. I just won't get that same girl (I think it was Erica). Also-if they offer you coffe, make sure they don't forget you. I never got mine.
Prices are great-spa is nice and it's located in an easy to find/park area..this is why I'll go back.
Pros: Prices, parking, location
Cons: The staff who are not working-they forget that there are other guests who like quiet.

Amazing Girls Day at the Spa
by gerttrudy
In Novemeber (8) of us rented the Spa for the Day for my daughters 30th Birthday. Between us we had massages, facials, pedicures & manicures. The therapists catered to our every wish,we were treated like queens. We were provided with beverages, fruit & cheese to snack on while waiting for our treatments. Everyone was extremely satisified with the services we received. I would difintely do this again.

The "Ultimate Day at the Spa" was a birthday gift from my friend and was exactly what I needed. Very relaxing, and the staff were very friendly and professional. They also did not try to talk me into buying products that I don't need. And I loved the chairs used for the pedicures! They add to the overall comfort and ambiance of the spa.
Pros: Ambiance, service, friendly staff
Cons: pedicure didn't last long

I have had my fair share of massages, I suffer from tension headaches (which seem like migraines on most days). Unfortunately I was having an awful headache the last week that nothing could solve. Everywhere was booked up or not opened late enough. Until I came across Tranquility on this website. They were only opened until 7 but let me book a 6:45 appointment. I was a little hesitate that my appointment would be cut short or not done well because it was the end of the day, but it was just the opposite. I believe the person I saw her name was Jen? She was wonderful! down to earth person who not only asked what I needed but then followed through with it. Although my headache problem was not totally solve in the half hour appointment it was still a great help. There anti stress atmosphere with lighting and color schemes was wonderful.Parking was a breeze, little hard to find because it is on a side street, but definitely a wonderful find! I am looking into booking a package for my mother for christmas. This place is affordable, but not the cheapest around....You get what you pay for though!
Pros: excellent service, parking, appointment hours and flexiblity
Cons: busy street outside, but the music overcame the loud cars going by.

Best Facial Around

I have been getting facials here since January and I love it!! Leah is one of the best! I actually live in Boston but drive out to Watertown b/c this spa is way better than any of the overpriced spas downtown. My skin has never felt and looked better. Tranquility has convenient hours after work as well as weekends. I really don't have anything negative to say about this place. I highly recommend it to everyone out there!
Pros: affordable prices, parking, knowledgable staff
Cons: none :)

I recently went to the Tranquility Day Spa after reading reviews of it on City Search and it has lived up to its reputation as being a great day spa. The spa clean and well maintained with calm colors and soft music. Leah, the owner was very nice and knowledgeable. While I was there, I received the problematic facial and it was pure heaven for 90 minutes. I plan to go back in September for my follow up facial. AND if you're a teacher, She gives a 10% discount on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

A great hidden spa gem
by BostonJennifer
A great local spa hidden in Watertown Square. Plenty of nearby metered parking. It appeared to be an older building so it had the charm of an old New England home - but with soothing colors and decorations. Very reasonable prices for a spa experience, and their web site has monthly specials. I had en eyebrow wax which was well done & gentle for my sensitive skin.
Pros: Easy to find & plenty of local parking
Cons: Small space

Great bikini wax

I had my first bikini wax here and it was a great place! I have been here before for a facial (which was amazing) so I deiced to try it again. Leah was very reassuring when I told her it was my first time. She went through the process with me, and assured me that it'll be less painful each time I go back (I've read that before too). She was very nice and chatted with be throughout which was a nice distraction. I would absolutely go back!

This place was a nice find, the atmosphere was great and I loved all the cute decorations. I got my eyebrows waxed by Leah. She was very friendly and did a good job. It was a little expensive for me, I am used to paying less. Overall, it was a nice experience. If you are looking for a place in the area I would check it out.

Way better facial than the much more expensive one I got in NYC not too long ago. Another reviewer said it best, Leah gives an amazing facial, fabulous skin care advice, and doesn't push product on you. My skin felt amazing after, and I could have easily fallen fast asleep during. Love the atmosphere, very calming and welcoming. Everyone I encountered was extremely nice also. I will be going every few weeks from now on.

This place was wonderful-- I got my eyebrows waxed by Leah, the owner, a week before my wedding, and she did an amazing job. I will definitely be returning to this spa as soon as I can.

The most enjoyable mani-pedi I have ever had! I got the 'Paint the Town Red' package as a gift and had never been to Tranquility, but I will be sure to return. The ambiance so wonderful, very tranquil and relaxing to even step foot in the door. My mani-pedi was with Diane who was absolutly amazing! The massage lotions used smelled great and felt great. They also have a nicely displayed selection of colors to choose from. What else can I say, it was great! I will be coming back and trying some more spa treatments!

THE BEST FACIAL, AND YOU DO NOT NEED TO TRAVEL TO BOSTON
by janis3194
A gem of a find, location not in a busy area, thus Tranquility sets the tone. Parking is not an issue. This spa is beautifully appointed for the space they are in, and the staff is very into customer satisfaction. I had a facial with Leah who does have magic fingers. My facial was not rushed and I like the fact that she explained about the prodcuts that were being used. I highly recommend Tranquility Day Spa for the ultimate in a luxury experience.

Excellent spa!
by sunita28
I went to Tranquility Day Spa for the first time this past weekend with my mother. I've been to a few spas and this was, by far, the best experience I've had. It was my mom's first time at a spa and she was very nervous going for the first time. She was shocked by how relaxing it was and now she wants to go back again! The facial was absolutely amazing--it includes an arm, shoulder and neck massage and fantastic skin care. I was so relaxed I couldn't move a muscle if I had tried. Massage, mani and pedi were also wonderful. Customer service is the best I've every had at a spa, friendly, efficient and they don't push products or more services on you. Excellent prices. All in all, this has to be one of the bes spas around!
Pros: Great prices, great care, great atmosphere
Cons: Ummm, none.

Nice alternative to driving into town
by Snowanm
At first, I didn't have the best feeling about this place. I guess I'm spoiled--I think, "day spa", or "full-service salon", and I think that there should be coffee being served, sometimes wine. I was a little tired yesterday, so I was hoping for coffee. Usually places like these offer to take your coat for you, but that wasn't offered either. The nail tech, Erika, seemed really slow, but then again, I am comparing my experience to another place, the Taiwanese nail salon down my street, where the girls are like machines, completing a mani/pedi in less than one hour. But, as I sat there, I realized that I should just relax and enjoy my experience and being away for a little while. Erika was really sweet--very young, but sweet. She was slow because she really took her time to do everything correctly. She took a very long time to massage, which you don't get at the Taiwanese place! I was almost asleep. When I got back to my car, I realized that I had been gone for almost 2.5 hours. I would recommend this place if you aren't in a rush. The prices at this place are pretty darn good; you can't get much better than $27 for a pedicure at a spa, so I forgive them for not offering coffee--they did offer water, however, as a recommendation, having coffee is a nice touch, plus it doesn't cost too much to provide.
Pros: Lots of parking, quality of service provided

Below Average Mani and Pedi
by CherylAF
The spa atomosphere was beautifully decorated. The nail tech was a high school student with one month experience--why do spas do that?. I suppose if you have never had a manicure or pedicure before you might think it was average. This nail tech barely touched my cuticles, missed several spots with the polish and did not know how to massage your feet. The pedicure was so lame---when it came to scrub my heals she went so lightly that it tickled. This was one of the worst manicure and pedicures I have ever experienced.
When you receive a great pedicure you feel as if you have had a one-hour massage. Not the case in this situation. Would not recommend this place for manicures or pedicures.
Cons: Staff are not experienced

SICK STAFF
by fieldhockey623
I thought the staff was wicked nice! like they were just really friendly and they really did everything to my expectations. I got my eyebrows waxed and they did come out how I wanted, and I really liked them. My friend went as well but she said that it wasn't done to her suggestions. She did like them though. The ZEN feeling really made it feel awesome. It was a really great place and they definitely put their "hearts" into it. Thank you very much! I will definitely come again!!
Pros: Ambience
Cons: Parking
