The Scene
Come-as-you-are atmosphere and cheap-eats prices make this low-key eatery an appealing neighborhood spot. The carpeted room is decorated in muted tones, with exposed brick and ductwork and framed black-and-white photos on the walls. Two flat-screen TVs mounted above a central bar are tuned into the game; couples and foursomes chat comfortably at tables while servers bustle around the room.

The Food
Rockwell's family-friendly menu covers the basics with a selection of soups, salads and sandwiches, from grilled chicken and BLTs to pork chops and a juicy 10-ounce sirloin steak. Cheddar fries with bacon and jalapenos make for a gooey start; filling burritos overstuffed with beef, chicken or veggies are recommended, too. Lighter appetites can choose from several plates of greens, including a popular chopped chicken salad, chicken pasta salad or taco salad served in a flaky tortilla shell. Homemade Oreo cookie brownie with vanilla ice cream provides a sweet, sinful finish.

Nothing to do with Norman

by Nancy K. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 305

This place got its name from being next to a stop on the brown line. However, it is a great bar with an interesting selection of beers. They had beers that I had never heard of like Abita beer. But I didn' try it. It has a very comfortable feel and is very warm and friendly. I thought the burgers were excellent. They also had been voted best burger by the Chicago Tribune. I would go back.

Love this place!

by natalie5175

Rockwell's has been a good ol' stand-by for my husband and I for the last couple of years. It's a great, casual atmosphere with a solid menu. We've had everything from their burgers & sandwiches to their entrees & salads and have never had a bad experience. The serve "pub-style" food but some of their items have a really great uniqueness to them. Love their taco salad!!!
Nice pub-style atmosphere, family friendly and a nice outside patio (dog-friendly!). Great place to bring friends and family for a fun, friendly & tasty dining experience. Thanks Rockwell's!

Pros: Food, atmosphere, service

Cons: parking can be a bit difficult

Great find

by rlevine

Very solid, well-prepared food. Nothing fancy, but
I've eaten there probably 10 times and have yet to
have a dish I disliked. Love their burgers, fries, and
fish tacos (VERY fresh). Nice smoke free environment.
A very family-oriented place, so if you dislike kids
stay away or perhaps come very late. Service always
friendly and helpful. Since it's right off the brown
line it's convenient for many locations, delicious,
and a friendly place for an after work drink or
dinner.
