I like going to Wrigleyville whenever the weather is tolerable and the Cubs aren't playing. However, I never noticed this place until I watched an episode of Man vs Food one night where the guy finished 3 of their sandwiches in under an hour. It didn't look so tough considering the guy polished off a giant steak in the episode earlier. Needless to say, I had see what the fuss was about. Upon entering, the walls were lined with previous winners including the guy from tv and one guy who did the challenge in 5 minutes (the things people do for free stuff). I also thought the place would be bigger like the bars lining the streets. Looking around at the other customer's baskets I can see that they weren't kidding when they said the sandwiches were big (your choice of protein, with slaw and fries all mashed together on one sandwich). I figured 3 would be impossible even in an hour for this beginner, so I settled for only 1 pastrami and cheese. I have to say, the sandwich is pretty good. However, I personally think it would be better if there was more meat than fries that made up the sandwich. Since that first sandwich I've been back again and again perhaps trying to find a new favorite. There are other items they offer like wings, but people come for the sandwiches. As for the challenge, it's not easy as your choices of sandwiches are limited to the top 8ish hardest ones to finish (sorry, can't expect to win with 3 egg and cheese sandwiches). Bottom line, come for the sightseeing, bring an empty stomach, and stay for a sandwich (or 3). By the way, I don't know about those reviews on the other listing saying that they "copied" an idea in Pittsburgh, but who doesn't copy who these days. We got people in NY trying to "copy" Chicago's deep dish pizza for all we know. Don't hate.

Good food... great sandwiches, not too pricey... good place to go when looking for a little late night food. Good choices, and great atmosphere, located in Wrigleyville so perfect after a cubs game!

Went here on a weekday for lunch and it was empty. Service was great and the sandwiches were excellent. I believe all of them are stuffed with french fries... yum!
