Sticky Rice

it wouldn't spoil my meal. Here's how I know: for some reason, every time I go there, some table of crypto-hipster girls just starts staring down my table. Whatever! Ordinarily I'd be starting some biz, but by then my mouth is full of lychee and spicy curry covered duck and I truly would watch a cultural gaffe-parade of a Rogers and Hammerstein film (ie any of them) and have not a care. This place is both the ish and the haps ever since it got slavishly reviewed by every Chicago publication, but deservedly. It's so great in there! The menu is varied and sooo cheap and sooooooo good, the ambiance is friendly and unpretentious even when the restaurant is full of haters, the service is prompt and friendly, and it's B to the Y to the O, he's fave. So go, already.

The Thai food at Sticky Rice is really delicious and they have some unusual dishes that you won't see at your run of the mill curry place. I believe they specialize in Northern Thai food but I could be wrong--either way it's amazing. I love the duck curry with lychees, and they have a wonderful stuffed fried tofu appetizer. Everything I've had here has been really good and the service is always friendly.
